After the tragic Helios Airways incident in 2005, the aviation industry was shook by how such an accident could occur. It left many air crew feeling nervous, worried that it might happen to them. It changed safety procedures for airlines and we all became very aware about what our "useful time of consciousness" is. For the person who donated this story, it also made them consider leaving the aviation industry completely, after something eerily similar happened on her flight, not that long after.
