One role that they're not officially trained for, but are frequently asked to perform, is the role of therapist. because when passengers (and crew) board that plane, they can sometimes be carrying a little extra baggage that needs tending to!

There are many seemingly strange drills that cabin crew have to train for, so they're ready to face any danger in the air (or the ground). Many of them we hope we don't have to use, but occasionally we do! This is the story of the Least Risk Bomb Location. The place on the aircraft where an explosive device can be placed, the spot on the plane that is deemed the safest. Where it would protect flight critical structures and systems from damage should detonation take place.

In today's episode, we talk to ex flight attendant Autumn Carolyn. Autumn was injured unexpectedly on a flight, and little did he know it would be career ending. So what does a flight attendant do when their wings have been clipped without notice. Autumn tells us all, and shares some great stories of her time in the air too!

Autumn Carolynn is a travel author, and her new book, Traveling in Wonder, describes her goal of visiting 30 countries within 30 years. Autumn was a previous flight attendant, travel agent, and travel design manager for large corporations across the Midwest. She received her bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing from Illinois State University and Canterbury Christ Church University. She is an award-winning travel photographer who owns her business, Autumn Carolynn Photography. One can find her work across multiple galleries, including the Northrup King Building, one of the largest art complexes in the United States. She resides in the Twin Cities and enjoys rescuing animals, walking her dogs, snuggling her cats, and playing music with her husband in her spare time.
