Luke 16:19-31.

Why should we care to prioritize the importance of one? Why should we care to intentionally confess Jesus and call others to repent and believe? What are the consequences if someone does not do this? Jesus says to disobey God's gospel and deny His Savior has great consequences. And that’s because man’s eternal condition is divided into two options: those who forsake salvation in Christ and suffer in Hell and those who embrace salvation in Christ and enjoy the blessings of Heaven.

Luke 15:1-10; 19:1-10.

Throughout the Bible Jesus consistently taught with His mouth and modeled with His life a patient pursuit of those far from God. The heart of God for the lost is the heart that drove Jesus to intentionally prioritize the importance of one. For follower and fishers, His priority is to be our priority.

Mark 1:14-20.

Our goal for 2020 and beyond is to be everyday people who intentionally confess Jesus in everyday life. Gospel intentionality is the aim. When we respond to the gospel with repentance and belief we become disciples of Jesus. And disciples are called to be FOLLOWERS of Jesus who FISH for men. Or to put it another way, disciples are called to be FOLLOWERS who WITNESS.

Psalms 6:1-10

Psalm 5:1-12.

When crisis lingers, or deep distress lasts long we can lose hope--"How long is this crisis going to last? The will this deep distress end?" As days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months we can struggle to begin yet another day knowing what we will face is more muck, more mire, more of the same again. How can I do this again today? David knows what it's like to be here and so he prays giving us a prayer to start the day when the muck of life is thick.

Psalm 4:1-8.

Psalm 4 is an urgent prayer born out of a situation of major distress in David's life. It's a prayer that asks the question—“How do God’s people dwell in distress? When circumstances go south, how should we react? When a situation turns sour, what can we do?” We learn that in times of distress God's people can safely dwell in peace.

Psalm 3:1-8.

Psalm 3 is a picture of saving faith. Where Psalm 1 asked—“Which path am I on?,” and Psalm 2 questioned—“Which worldview do I hold?,” Psalm 3 wants to challenge us with where we put our confidence in times of trouble. In the midst of crisis God’s people can have confidence in God’s ability to save.

Psalm 1:1-6.

Psalm 1 is the port of entry into the Psalms and it takes up a matter of supreme importance. Ultimately, the matter is the choice of two paths. One path where we can find God-centered happiness and fulfillment anchored in God and His word. Or the other path that will lead to eternal destruction if we ignore God and His word. So the call of Psalm 1 is the question—“Which path are you on?”

Psalm 106:34-39; Psalm 127:3-5.

A popular cultural narrative surrounding abortion applauds the sacrifice of children for self-gain. The gospel of Jesus Christ reverses this narrative in it’s entirety. Parents are not called to sacrifice their children, they are called to sacrifice for their children. We find our example in Jesus who came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Daniel 7:9-14.

God's word is both clear and complex. For some, the overarching narrative of Scripture just "clicks". For others, it can be challenging to see how all the pieces fit together. We look at how the gospel story unfolds throughout Scripture with the aim that our hearts respond in awe and wonder at the powerful working of King Jesus our Savior.
