In this episode Des open with another Trump rant but he controls himself because he doesn't want to hog the episode. Joanne and Des then chat a bit about whether they wish they were married through all this. (Not to each other) They then decide and try to workshop some ideas around a new show Joanne might write now that she has so much time. She is thinking about doing a show about being adopted and it leads to a really interesting discussion about being adopted and nature vs nurture. Its a really fun ep and a good distraction from all the madness.

On today's ep Des and Steve chat about settling in to our new lives in isolation, should Liverpool be given the title. when did the penny drop for you, and a bit about how its tough to look back at old bits of your stand up because you have evolved so much. After the chat Des shares some thoughts about the anniversary of his mom's death. Just trying to get as much stuff up as possible for you guys in these tough times.

On today's episode I sat down with my good friend Brian O'Connell. You may know him as a regular contributor to RTE Radio one and also as the author of "Wasted" and more recently "The personals." We chatted in Cork literally steps from UCC where we were classmates together in the 90s. We had a very deep conversation that began with chatting about how he found the personal ads in newspapers as a doorway into people's lives. It was also a doorway into a very personal discussion for us about mortality as he had just come from recording in Marymount Hospice. He then opened up about his own grief and guilt around his friend's suicide. We finished the discussion chatting about our lives without booze and checking in on all that so many years since we both decided to stop. I always have great conversations with Brian and I am delighted to be able to share one with you guys.

This week we have Aidan Bishop and Stephen Mullan on the pod having the craic. The title of this ep is deliberately provocative. In actual fact we have a broad discussion about the Democratic primaries and the establishment of Bernie Sanders as the clear front runner. In this week's episode Stephen Mullan and I chat a lot about Fatherhood. Steve chats about being a Dad and I chat about my dad. First though we chat about being competitive and whether that is a good or bad thing? We also talk about why people find it so hard to admit that they are wrong and ask if there is perhaps some science behind what is going on in the body that drives us to take such strong stances at times. We finish up the chat talking about how much marketing affects our perception on what gender should do what thing. However this is a topic that we plan to return to in greater detail later on.
