From a very young age, Britt Möricke has loved the look of letters. When she was 12 years old, the book ‘Writing, Illuminating and Lettering’ by Edward Johnston taught her the essential principles of calligraphy. Eventually her passion for letters led her to the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where she graduated from the department Typographic Design in 2002. She did her internship at Penguin Putnam Inc., in NYC (USA). She also finished the Master Type & Media in 2003 and in 2017 the Expert Class Type Design of the Plantin Institute of Typography in the Museum Plantin-Moretus (Antwerp). Since 2004 she has been working as a typographic designer, as well as a teacher of calligraphy, typography and type design at various art schools in the Netherlands.
