    Getting started without theme music or opening, Barry starts right off with the voice over description of his day, and chasing after his suspect. After his ride with Jake the elevator operator, he finds danger waiting for him in his office. He learns from the cops a little about their latest John Doe victim. A failed ambush still doesn’t keep Barry from hitting the streets.
    A dame, who happened to be hiding in his car identifies the body that was found earlier. Is there something else that she’s after? What is she holding back? A thump on the head from a staged car crash finds the dame missing, but the cops are back to offer some updated progress in the case.
    Motive for the killing is turned up. Barry returns his attention to finding that blonde dame, the widow of William Cheyney, and avoid the gunman who had tried taking potshots at him. Which will he find? Maybe both.
    The guns are out, but who is the real danger in this picture? In the aftermath, Barry talks to the cops to go over the points of the mystery, and how the killer staged the whole thing.

  • Sam Spade – Vaphio Cup Caper. 480822
    Trying to prank his secretary when he phones in, Sam hints at the clue that his latest case revolves around. Arriving in the office, Effie shares a little confusing family history with her hardboiled boss. In flashback Sam recounts his meeting with a client who needs him to protect a valuable and artistically made cup. On the train, Sam fends off would be robbers, but he’s only successful until he gets a thump on the head.
    Waking up to a body, Sam finds the cup missing, his client dead, and a slap in the face from a woman claiming to be the wife of the clients partner. Twists in the story intrigue Sam, especially when things are nothing as they appear in the relationship between client, wife, lover, and cup.
    Which cup is the valuable one, the real one, or the fake one? The guns come out as Sam works with the cops to lay a trap designed to catch a killer. That doesn’t mean the danger is over for our hero, fist fights, and even an encounter with chloroform awaits him. To get to the hard evidence he needs, Sam even finds him out at sea.

    Bernadine is back to replace Effie Perine as Sam’s secretary. She has Sam singing the blues as he dictates his report on how a man was murdered with a buzz saw. A dame with amnesia needs Sam’s help. She has a memory of a streetcar, and a man who grabbed her, but not much else. Is she married? Does she have money? Are there any clues in her purse to help identify her?
    Calling the dame Poppy, Sam hits the streets. With the dame under wraps, Sam hits the nightclubs. Clues, and connections to a murder are made.
    With headlines splashing the sensation of the gruesome murder over the front page, Sam has the clues and suspects coming right to his office. The giant of a man is more helpless than the casual onlooker might suspect. To learn who wants him dead, Sam has the big man hide out at the morgue.
    Taking the wheel of life to a penthouse gangster, Sam hopes to learn the secret behind it. The oriental trinket could be worth a fortune to the right buyer, but Sam still has the problem of a murder, the escaped man he left at the morgue, and the dame with amnesia who came to take him away. Poppy still sticks to her story of having no memory, but Sam may have an ace up his sleeve to get to the truth.

    Gabrielle Leggit is a missing person who Sam is now dictating his report about. The young woman has flown the coupe and is suspected of swiping things from the mansion. Sam has plenty of possibilities when he goes through the messy room Gabriella left behind.
    Its not hard to track her down, and Sam discovers the reason Gabriella ran away. He also ends up with a thump on the head, and a fresh start in his hunt for the girl.
    A lead takes Sam to a well known author. What does he know about the girl? How might he be connected to the case?
    The swarm of red herrings is sure to pan out to a real clue sooner or later. Tortured emotions could lead to murder, but Sam cuts to the core of the matter to expose the real crime that had been intended.

    Marlowe gets a phone call to tell him one of his steady girlfriends has been shot. Headed to the funeral parlor to pay his respects, Philip questions friends and other suspicious people hanging around. He finds a clue in a glass statue of a donkey that’s missing a leg.

    Who is Mr Massey, and what connection does he have to the murder? Elements of blackmail, love affairs, and business troubles emerge. When Mrs Massey turns up dead, Marlow thinks he has some solid evidence to wrap up this mystery.
    Things are escalating as Philip beats the bushes, and his investigating progresses. Danger and gunplay are in store before Marlowe gets to the bottom of the matter, and the gory details are exposed.

    Confronting the daredevil, Silvia, Sam learns her side of the story. How does she manage her death defying feats? What kind of scam is she working? Murder, blackmail,, fraud, something else? Sam kicks the lid right off the case.
