Economists and historians alike have long lamented the decline of the middle class. Everyone seems to have their theories as to why it's happening, but some theories tend to be pretty self-explanatory. Like the fact that getting a four year degree is considered something you must do, but college has become exponentially more expensive over the years. It doesn't help that the internet mob that is cancel culture seems to almost exclusively target people with neither the money nor power to defend themselves. Probably a coincidence.
