Much of our language and behavior in the church might presuppose that marriage is the default, or that being single is at best unideal or at worst burdensome or ignoble. These attitudes are deeply harmful to our single brothers and sisters. Singlehood presents an opportunity to pursue completeness and wholeness in Jesus alone. We contemplate how the Scriptural examples of Jesus and Paul show us that this season can be understood and put to service as a blessing and gift. And we talk about how single and married Christians can encourage, bless, and co-labor with one another to glorify God!

Mental health is an area that many Christians struggle with. It is also a dangerous subject that has been mishandled or mismanaged by many; amateur advice of "just pray and read the Bible more" or "you're sinning by being anxious" can do more harm than good. This episode begins our series dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. While we may not be in control of our season of isolation, we can control our response, and can utilize a time of solitude to learn and grow. Moses and Elijah enter isolation in the wilderness of despair and the mountain of God, and both are given new perspective and equipped as prophets through their isolation. Jesus also follows the same pattern of periodic isolation throughout His ministry. We hope to continue to have helpful conversations in the coming weeks on how Christians can respond to COVID-19 in ways that promote wellness.

In this conclusion of our conversation with Dr John Weaver of Florida College, we discuss a measured perspective of physical and spiritual health. Early adulthood is a season where many people struggle with body image or self-control, but Dr Weaver helps us to understand the vital nature of contentment and healthy balance. Our health, in whatever capacity, ought to be understood as a gift from God. One mustn't focus on the pursuit of bodily health to the exclusion of intellectual, emotional, or spiritual health, or vice versa.
