Dr. Quigley and Dr. Kaleem continue to discuss minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) this week, this time focusing the surgeries that go in through the subconjunctival space, specifically the Xen and the PreserFlo, and how they compare to other glaucoma surgery options.
In this third part of the glaucoma surgery series, Dr. Quigley and Dr. Kaleem explain the Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) procedures. In this episode, Dr. Quigley and Dr. Kaleem discuss what cataracts are and the risk factors for developing them. They also explain options for treating cataracts and the risk and benefits of cataract surgery.
Following up on last week's episode, Dr. Quigley and Dr. Kaleem discuss laser treatments for closed angle glaucoma, as opposed to those for open angle glaucoma. They explain what the laser iridotomy is and whether or not patients who are closed angle glaucoma suspects should get it.
