Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to: Employ current recommendations for screening and diagnosis of patients suspected to have spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Recognize clinical signs and symptoms associated with early manifestations of SMA from birth to adulthood, Apply current data on the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of approved disease-modifying therapies for SMA from infancy through adulthood, Counsel patients and/or their parents/caregivers regarding the need for ongoing supportive care to optimize treatment outcomes.
