The assumption that Darwin did not convert is relatively easy to reconcile with the available evidence. In contrast, the notion that he did become a Christian seems to me to be very difficult to reconcile with several aspects. In any case, the truth or otherwise of creation or evolution is not affected by whether or not Darwin changed his mind.
