Some of Julian's friends were debating on Tuesday whether the Carolina Panthers made a mistake by passing on Justin Fields during the 2021 NFL Draft. In recent weeks, Fields has begun to come into his own leading those around the league to believe that Fields is the top of the five first-round QBs taken during that year's draft. Julian ponders whether the Panthers actually missed out on Fields' talent or if there's something else that their missing out on that is actually propelling this discussion.

ESPN NFL Draft analysts have differing opinions on who the top five QBs in the 2023 NFL Draft are. Undoubtedly, the Panthers brass will have similar thoughts as they're likely to select atop of the draft this spring. Julian discusses some of the top names and asks whether Carolina would be better off taking a defensive player like Alabama's Will Anderson instead of gambling on a QB.

Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and PJ Walker are all set to be free agents come March. In the meantime, each of the three will look to earn the starting nod at QB for the remaining seven games. Who among them is more likely to return to Carolina next season in a backup role mentoring a rookie QB?
