Let's face it: we're lucky if we get old. Yet there's so much stigma in our culture around aging. Aaron and Glenys talk with food and body relationship specialist Michelle Vina-Baltsas about what it's like to get older in a world that is stridently anti-aging, and how we can fight against the stigma of aging by continuing to be relevant as all hell. You can find Michelle on her website and in her Facebook group, The No Diet Sisterhood.

Glenys and Aaron are back with Episode 20. They invited Hilary Kinavey from Be Nourished to come on the podcast to help answer two questions from our listeners. Both questions deal with how can the people closest to us support our Intuitive Eating and HAES® journey. One listener asks for tips in explaining Intuitive Eating and HAES® to her partner and the second question deals with working with a spouse or partner who is still steeped in diet culture and might not support our exploration of HAES®.
They also recommend reading the book Body Respect which you can find here: https://www.amazon.com/Body-Respect-Conventional-Health-Understand/dp/1940363195
Glenys and Aaron are back (better than ever) after a month and a half hiatus. In Episode 19, they interview certified health & wellness coach, Melissa Toler about her work in helping women heal their relationship with their bodies and discover food freedom. The discussion covers Melissa's story of how she arrived at this work, her progression from weight loss coaching to a weight-neutral approach and the intersection of fat phobia, race and social justice. It is a wide-ranging, thoughtful discussion that you will get you to see body positivity from a new perspective.
This episode might be short, but it's well worth your time. Aaron and Glenys give their impressions from a great couple of days of learning at the 2016 Binge Eating Disorder Conference which was held in San Francisco. They reflect on some of the sessions, meeting some of their idols in the field and getting to connect with many HAES and Intuitive Eating professionals. You won't want to miss this episode.

In addition to this great discussion, Aaron and Glenys also share some of news and inspiring stories they are coming across these days.

Aaron and Glenys team up with Carmen Cool, MA, LPC and Julia Kohn, a very wise teen with a lot of things to say about how problems with body image begin at a young age, and are often unwittingly reinforced by adults. How can adults do better? Listen and find out. This episode was created as a part of Binge Eating Disorder Association's Weight Stigma Awareness Week, happening September 26-30, whose theme this year is Teaching The Truth to Kids.
Glenys and Aaron were thrilled to get the opportunity to interview Virgie Tovar, who has inspired them to be more active in the community. It is a great discussion that touches on everything from her path to becoming a leader in the fat activist world to her thoughts on how we all can become fierce fat babes! You'll want to check out her program Babe Camp for sure.
We ran into some technical issues around minute 37 and we apologize to Ms. Tovar and to the rest of you for this glitch.
