Digging Deep with Cody Janssen

WE’RE BACK! And with an old friend! Long before he was an AMA ATV Pro Class holeshot award winner and top-five overall finisher, before he was a multi-time Pro-Am victor and 8-time ATV Motocross National Champion – “Factory” Sam Rowe was my best friend. We grew up together and he just so happened to be one heck of a racer! Listen as we laugh about old times, dig into his career, and he just got back from spending two weeks with Jeffrey Rastrelli. So, we’ll talk plenty of 2022 ATV motocross as well on this episode of the Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast! As always, thanks for DIGGING DEEP with us! Enjoy!

WE’RE BACK with arguably our most highly-anticipated episode to date. Nearly a decade ago, on the heels of a prolific season that featured 18 Pro Am overall victories, 37 motos wins, and 2 National Championships – Cody Gibson disappeared from ATV racing never to return. Imagine if James Stewart disappeared from professional motocross prior to graduating to the premier class. Even as a teenager on a 125cc, you just knew that he was the guy that could give Ricky Carmichael a run for his money before we ever even witnessed it. Now imagine Stewart retiring before any of those imminent battles that were on the horizon – this is the Cody Gibson story. In his three full seasons as a Pro Am rider, Cody Gibson won 36 overalls on his way to 5 ATV Motocross National Championships. He is an absolute legend, but he’s never publicly discussed his ATV racing career…until now. Enjoy the story of Cody Gibson’s spectacular career, in its entirety, for the very first time right here on the Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast. As always, thanks for DIGGING DEEP with us!

Part 1 was chock full of 90s and 2000s ATV history, while in Part 2 we cover the heck out of the last decade of ATV motocross. WE'RE BACK! And, with another HIGHLY ANTICIPATED episode with yet another legend of ATV racing! Mike Walsh of Walsh Race Craft is connected to so much ATV racing history it’s insane! Today he’s most known as the face of the family business but, as you’ll learn, there is SO much more to Mike Walsh and his story. Before becoming what we know Walsh Race Craft as today, Mike was a successful pro in his own right. Thanks to his blended passions for ATVs and engineering, and under the tutelage of his late father, Mike organically found himself thrust into the birth of Walsh Race Craft. Listen as he tells the story of going from pro racer, to building world-class quads for his competition while lining up against them, and eventually working with factory teams, fielding teams of his own, being named Mechanic of the Year, and SO MUCH MORE. The story you are about to hear is absolutely EPIC! So epic, in fact, that we had to make this a two-parter – and you’re going to love every second of it right here on the Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast. As always, thanks for DIGGING DEEP with us. Enjoy!

WE'RE BACK! And with yet another legend on this week’s episode of the Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast! 1997 ATV Pro GNC National Champion, Shane Hitt, is one of the greatest ATV racers of all time. On this episode, you'll hear the incredible story of his legendary career, which eventually results in Shane becoming one of the most prolific TT racers ever (but don't get it twisted, “GNC Champion” means Shane Hitt can do it all). From getting his first utility quad as a boy in West Virginia, to honing his skills dodging trees, winning races, titles, and the most prestigious championship on the planet, developing Honda's "new" TRX450R, riding for multiple factory teams, helping manage the Factory KTM ATV Team, and more – throughout it all, Shane never lost the love for the sport that he possessed as a boy...and, to this day, you can still hear it in his voice. This is another conversation littered with ATV racing history and stories that you’ve never heard before involving the likes of Timmy Farr, Mark Baldwin, Wayne Meridian, and more! We are proud to give legends like Shane Hitt a platform to tell his ATV racing story, and we're proud to bring this unrivaled content to our listeners. As always, thanks for DIGGING DEEP with us. Enjoy!
