  • DBE 043: Making Legal Resources Approachable With Andrea Sager

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution podcast be sure to take lots of notes as Jess sits down with Andrea Sager who is the CEO and founder of TheLegalpreneur. After massively scaling her law firm in 3 years Andrea founded Legalpreneur, a bridge for the gap between legal resources and entrepreneurs at every stage of business. Learn about entities, contracts, intellectual property and so much more with Andreas' approachable handle on all things legal.

Some big questions answered on today's show include: What are the differences between trademark and copyright? What is the best practice if you see someone copying your work? And, how soon should you get your trademark? Andrea also goes over her own entrepreneurial journey saying to always dream bigger and gives ways to stay motivated when you are surrounded by people who are not. This is truly a value packed episode that you're not going to want to miss!

As always, cheers to your evolution!

    Key Takeaways:

    • As a business owner your most valuable assets are your intellectual properties such as trademarks and copyrights. Trademarks deal with anything that has to do with your brand like logos, slogans, and podcast names. Trademarks have different categories so whatever you are doing you have to protect within such categories. Copyright are your everyday works like photos, videos, and the podcast episodes.
    • Get into the habit of filing a registration for your work because that way if you find people constantly using your things you will be ready to have them take down their practices. The sooner you do this the more money you will save in the future.
    • As soon as your work starts taking off you want to file for your trademark. The search to get your trademark is the most important part because you want to make sure you have the rights you think you have. A key component to a trademark is that it's not about it being the same but rather similar in that it can cause confusion. .

  • DBE 042: Stories of Success From Our E+MPOWER Graduates

In April of 2022 Jess interviewed three incredible, heart-centered leaders and past students of her signature 90-day mentorship program, E+MPOWER, to share their inspiring stories of business growth!

First up is Sandra Sharpe, a Dubai-based functional medicine coach, wife, and cancer survivor who despite the odds was able to build the business of her dreams. She shares how she tripled her social media following within a year by simply and authentically sharing her own story.

Next is Jake Kelfer, who is on a mission to help entrepreneurs turn their dreams into realities. His advice to anyone dreaming big? "Pull the damn trigger, give it a shot, and put the belief in yourself, and make your dreams happen. Don't rely on anyone else to get you results."

Our final guest, Andrea Casanova, is the young owner of a viral marketing agency and a strategist for brands like TikTok, Tencent, Amazon, The Russo Brothers & more. She proves that we can build a business around literally anything we're passionate about. Her dream is to co-sign entrepreneurs so that they can immigrate safely to the U.S.

    Key Takeaways:

    • When it comes to elevating your health and wellness, you are the secret sauce. The most powerful leaders in this space are not those who know the most, but those who have lived through the very issues they coach their clients through.
    • You may be at the top of your game and among the best in your industry, but as long as your ego is in the way, you'll never get to the next level in your business.
    • If you have an urge to pursue a passion, no matter how small that urge may be, it's always better to just take the plunge. Even the biggest successes in their field experience failures and have navigated major insecurities to get to where they are today!

  • DBE 041: Healing and Connecting through Vulnerability with Kelly Chase

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution podcast, we get to find out what it's like to become an overnight celebrity and learn about the pressures that come with such status; all the while, dealing with an identity crisis as your ego goes to war with your spiritual self. Jess sits down today with Kelly Chase from the hit Netflix Series "Love is Blind". Kelly unpacks her journey and talks about feelings of being stuck and doing the same dance for years before taking action to change her life!

Discover how fame does not always equate to an easy route to success and that having a high number of followers on social media does not equal revenue. Kelly gets vulnerable in this episode going into details about feelings of jealousy over her costars, not feeling worthy of love, how her business transitioned without her and even going back to her 9-5 career job. Wrapping up the show Jess and Kelly talk about showing up on bad days, and being vulnerable with that truth.

    Key Takeaways:

    • All it takes is one person to change the trajectory of your life and that's one of the biggest powers that social media has.
    • A huge following does not equate to revenue, as more followers can hurt you because of how the algorithm works if they are not engaged with your business offerings.
    • When it comes to being more vulnerable on social media ask yourself: What is the intention behind this? What is the audience going to get out of this? And if it's too early to share with an audience as it can also hurt them; but on the flip side, sometimes sharing sooner can help you heal faster and connect you more with people.

    Key Timestamps

    • "If you are not sharing parts of your story, you are not just doing a disservice to your audience, you're doing a disservice to yourself because when you release you are healing parts of you too." - Kelly Chase

  • DBE 040: Learn to Repurpose Content for all Social Media Platforms

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution Podcast, we get to listen in on a value packed live that Jess recorded in her free exclusive facebook community for coaches and entrepreneurs. The information given during this live was too good to not share with the rest of the world as Jess talks about repurposing content across all social media platforms. Jess has gone through trials and errors, learning how and where to repurpose content and now we get to take in her years of experience. The intention of this training is to show you how you can be more present across the social media landscape without having to do more work. Learn about why all value has content, learn how each platform works in putting out content while keeping in mind your audience on each platform and much more.

As always, cheers to your evolution!

    Key Takeaways:.

    • Your content might be educational one day, funny the next, or thought provoking right after. So let's stop putting pressure on ourselves thinking all our content has to be educational.
    • Social media platforms require different styles of content because we the people have told each platform how we like to consume. Repurposing content is taking your content, taking your concept, your message and putting it in front of the consumer in the way that that platform desires to consume.
    • Be mindful of your audience because they might follow you on multiple platforms and you don't want to lose them by posting the same things, the same way across all social media platforms.

    Episode Quotes

    • "All content has value. Broccoli is nutritious, it has vitamins, minerals, fiber, and cookies are delicious and are a comfort food; both have value, we need different things at different times for different reasons. ." –Jessica DeRose
    • " When we get pissed off, remember we are the ones who decided we like reels so it's our fault; the consumers. These platforms are based on how we act, based on what we consume, and tell the world what we want more of." –Jessica DeRose

  • DBE 039: How to Show Up on Social Media with Jera Foster Fell

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution podcast, Social Media coach, Speaker and Content Creator Jera Foster Fell aka Jera Bean( by her loyal following) joins Jess as they unpack the secrets to building a loyal and engaged community on social media by showing up as your most authentic self. Learn how to find your uniqueness or as Jess and Jera like to call it, your secret sauce in the social media landscape. Listen in on guidelines to be more vulnerable on social media and take in information on how to address and deal with criticisms and trolls.

With 1.5 million followers on TikTok, Jera talks about her shift to to the Tik Tok platform and why it opened up a door to show up as her most authentic self. If you really want to connect with your audience it comes down to the small things you do that you might not realize will bring you closer than ever before to them. Jera closes out the episode with 3 big tips on how to film short form videos and even a segment detailing batching content.

    Key Takeaways:

    • When thinking of your secret sauce, think about your past and current elements. Your past consists of experiences, challenges and pivots you have been through while your current elements are your personality, energy and even the mundane small moments you have in your day to day life. If you think your past traumas or experience is not enough there is someone always out there who needs to listen to what you have to say.
    • It doesn't make sense to respond to the big trolls because it will take away your energy as you keep checking for their messages and validating yourself. Keep in mind that they can be going through something in their own lives as we are all mirrors to each other.
    • The components to short form video consist of asking yourself what is the hook of the video? The hook is giving context and is enticing in the first couple of seconds of the video. Give yourself a time constraint as you write out a script to keep people on for as long as you can. Finally, you want to pattern interrupt with your videos and this can include changing your background, changing your view, or even changing your clothing!

    Key Timestamps

[05:30] – What is your secret sauce?

    [9:34] – How to be more vulnerable on social media;

    [42:30] – Batching content;

    Episode Quotes

    • "Trust the community to tune into what they are interested in and what they are not. That's the beauty of the secret sauce: the more "you" you bring into your content the more you are going to pull in the right people and repeal the wrong ones. ." –Jera Bean
    • "The cure to saturation is a mix of secret sauce and consistency because if you identify your secret sauce but are not showing up on social media consistently then you're not giving yourself the opportunity to stand out." - Jera Bean

  • DBE 038: The Power of Patience in Business

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution Podcast, Jess takes the floor getting a little Spicy as her clients like to call her. This powerful episode will not only dive deep into what the power of patience will bring to you and your business, but you will also get a front row seat to what it's like to listen in on a FB live during E+mpower! Jess goes into detail about reframing the mindset of your 9-5 job while working on your side hustle, all the while building your business. Jess explains to her students that this moment in their entrepreneurial journey is the best place they can be.

    Key Takeaways:.

    • Reframe what it is like to go back to your 9-5 jobs and side hustles by seeing them as a loan to build your business that you never have to pay back! You get to build your business for free which in turn makes you more excited to go back to your job and to actually work on your business.
    • It is all about patience. Most, if not all businesses weren't built in 12 weeks, as it can take years and years to get there. Amazon years without a profit, consistently being patient, reframing the business and going back to the drawing board.
    • You have to comprehend what you are learning. Once you comprehend what you are learning, you have to integrate it until it becomes a habit! Just because you went through a program for your business does not mean that you have integrated it enough to see the results.

    Episode Quotes

      • "You can't get to the next step if you don't step on the current stone you are on. You are not supposed to be all the way across ." –Jessica DeRose
      • "When you get to a new level it actually doesn't always become easier, it often gets harder. So recognize the season that you are in, because you may never be here again and that is cool, that is beautiful." –Jessica DeRose
      • "The reason people don't make money is because they can't wait to make money." –Jessica DeRose

  • DBE 037: Learning How To Give Yourself Permission To Pivot With Angela Gargano

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution podcast, Jess sits down with her friend Angela Gargano who is an athlete, international fitness model, coach and speaker. From being a biochemist, owning her own gym, and competing in American Ninja Warrior a total of 4 times, we get to learn all about Angela's incredible story of persistence, resilience and what it truly means to pivot when things are no longer serving you in your life.

Learn about pitching yourself and what it means to bring value to not only the business you are getting involved with but also, the audience. Learn how to balance sharing your personal life and struggles on social media to build better connections with your followers and, most importantly, inspire them. Throughout the episode Jess and Angela talk in depth about pivoting and how it's about you evolving as you go through even the toughest setbacks in your life. When we are evolving we get to celebrate ourselves as we release things that no longer serve us to walk faster and fly higher.

    Key Takeaways:

    • There is a big misconception where most think that all you have to do is show up on social media as the best version of yourself but having a business is having a business machine. In your business machine you have different departments and at one point you can be wearing all the hats for all of these departments. You will have to learn and take on so many roles to keep your business going.
    • Become valuable to people before asking for things. Never fully ask but remain in someone's radar and show them how you can help. When you pitch yourself, keep in mind it's a business! So, ask yourself, what value can you bring to their business? And more importantly what value can you bring to the audience.
    • Pivoting, changing your mind and living multiple lives is not you failing or quitting but rather it's you evolving.

  • DBE 036: How to Deliver the Best Experience for your 1:1 Clients

In this episode of the Digital Business Evolution Podcast, Jess is chatting all about the necessary steps to consider when setting up 1 on 1 clients. When considering 1 on 1 clients we all know it's about the needs and wants of the client, however, you actually want to start with yourself first. Ask yourself what are your boundaries? What is your capacity? Ask yourself what lights you up and what will also light them up? What is the value of the transformation they are looking for and what is required for you to get them the transformation?

Once your boundaries are in order with your 1 on 1 clients, you want to set expectations, because expectations lead to experience. It's only when we don't live up to people's expectations that the experience can go south. Jess goes into detail on how to set expectations for these 1 on 1 clients, pricing, contracts, timing, give backs and even welcome gifts! There are so many options when it comes to setting up 1 on 1 clients, but ultimately it comes down to what works best for you.

    Key Takeaways:.

    • 1 on 1 clients have a different access to you and your time; thus, a price premium works because people pay for people and there is a payment amount that comes with proximity.
    • Pre-set the expectations with your client ahead of time: including how much time it will take you to be able to help them and for them to see the transformation they are looking for. Creating the expectation will create the client's experience and anything that's over delivered will be a sweet juicy bonus.
    • Create your business around your life, not your life around your business. Get clear on boundaries and expectations by communicating with your client what works best for you both.

    Episode Quotes

    • "I want to know what they want, what they need, what their desired transformation is but also, if i'm not in alignment, if i'm not ready, if im not set up, then the conversation shouldn't even be happening ." –Jessica DeRose
    • "You don't need to complicate it, you don't need to launch it, it doesn't need to be a big to do, just let people know you have slots available and there is no pressure. Whatever you are doing in your business is perfect." –Jessica DeRose

  • DBE 035: How Breathwork Allows You to Create Your Desired Reality with Bea Boas

Bea Boas is the founder of ThetaBreathwork™, a new, cutting-edge method that helps you connect with yourself on a deeper level that you probably didn't even know exists!

Her unexpected foray into the world of breathwork began when she took up marketing in university. Bea recalls gaining a keen interest in buyer psychology throughout the next few years and, eventually, that interest evolved into a general curiosity regarding the formation of the paradigms which shape the way we approach life.

Bea's brainchild, ThetaBreathwork™, allows practitioners to go inside of themselves to unearth those deep-seated beliefs. With that clarity, one will know what needs to change in order to be able to create their desired reality.

Listen in as Bea explains how to reprogram your mind, embrace your truth, and transform your life for the better, all through the magic of breathwork.

As always, cheers to your evolution!

    Key Takeaways:

    • If you decide to adopt a mindset of abundance for the very first time, if your subconscious mind (built up through years, if not decades, of programming) has never learned what it means to embody it, nothing will happen.
    • Manifestation is the management of energy, and the first step to manifesting anything into your life is by doing shadow work: turning inward and coming to terms with your negative qualities so that you can finally be in alignment and attract the things you truly desire.
    • The goal of breathwork is to achieve clarity at a deep level and, through learning more about your truth, gain the tools you need to make the changes you need to take your life to the next level.
