Ghostmac is a Perth-based hip-hop artist originally from inland Byron, New south wales. He was born and raised in Mount Burrell inland of Byron Bay before his family moved to Karratha in WA when he was 12 years old. Ghostmac only started making music in 2019 and by early 2022 he was already selling out shows with his strong fan base. Ghost is a full-time postman but in his spare time, he records, engineers, and markets his own music in his home studio. Scarcity cultivates Creativity... so Perth's abundant economy (thanks to our luck with mineral resources) has created a culture that doesn't see a value in creativity. Why would Perth value creativity if we already have an abundant economy? Why should we think for ourselves when we can easily get a high-earning job in mining? Why fund the arts when I can already fund my new Landrover and Jetski thanks to Woodside?~ Well it shows in our terrible urban planning, urban sprawl, architectural residential design codes, taste in public art, and Individualistic culture. What's the solution? Cultivate creative community, culture and awareness around these topics.  

In this epsiode I chat to Atle Edgar, a Boorloo (Perth) based mixed medium artist and founder of A.I.P Shit (Perth Artists Initiative). Predominately a sculptor, he works in recycled materials, blu-tac. Stylistically, his work is gritty in form, figure, and texture yet colourful, playful and humorous. Formed in 2022 Glitch Crew consists of Michaela, Jasmine, Bekezela (Becky) , Sophia, Chelsea, Hiba, Sophie La Belle. I have seen the popularity of Kpop dances in Perth rose over the past few years. I like the energy the public dancing gives to the city, I want to see the city put more support behind these dancers, I want to see more creative collaborations with these guys so I’m super excited to have them on.

Mitch Letcher, Goes by SuperFrame on YouTube (50k subs) he’s a Movie critic, graphic designer n YouTuber, the focus of superframe is to explore film n pop culture with a philosophical outlook, what do archetypes convey about our society? Alex Gebrat aka DJ Waves is a Perth-based DJ.
