Ok...I'm gonna put down my phone right now, hold my hand up and admit that I'm addicted to my devices. I cannot help scrolling through my social media apps or messaging on WhatsApp at an alarming rate for hours each day.

For example, if you have ever given up something for Lent, or let's say booze for 'Sober October', you tend to go back on it harder than ever as a kind of reward to yourself for being so good.

Carrie discusses the ways in which we can "offload" the bigger issues first by making a plan to identify the key areas that take up most time, yet how we need to be aware that they may creep back in - and this is where the retox training comes to the fore.

It may take the unfollowing of certain pages and people, or coming offline one day a week, but the results will be worth it.
