22 new music releases in Dirty Disco #317.

Let me explain: normally i curate, select, create the mix and record a new episode during the week. Where everyday i do something different, clearly it all starts with curating and selecting and it ends with me recording the vocals for the show on Monday which is also they day i publish a new show on all selected platforms. 

Sometimes and this week i wasn’t able to work in my normal rhythm since i spontaneously traveled to the Route Du Champagne event in France where i enjoyed several different champagne brands from local producers in the Vallée de L’arce en Seine area. Even though i’m publishing this blog-post on the 29th of July (the day i will come back late in the evening)  i had to write this prior to the weekend. 

Writing prior, reading after it. This can be confusing.

So at the time of writing i haven’t been there yet, and i can’t tell you specific details on my experience. But at the time of you reading this i’m already back home. Confusing isn’t it?

Roar Groove Meets Dirt Crew Vol 4.

Roar Groove is a label from Copenhagen – Denmark run by The Revenge. Dirt Crew Recordings is a label from Germany and as the title of this new EP may suggest this EP is a collaboration between the two music labels including 4 new tracks by The Revenge. Every week i curate a new selection of in my opinion essentials that you should check out and are worth listening to. Whether you are a DJ who is in search for new inspiration for new music to add to your own DJ sets and playlists. Or when you are another type of music professional that is looking for new talents that you can sign to a label. Or when you are just here for music listening pleasure as a music lover and who likes to have me as a music companion. 

Highlighted releases.

Among the 20 deep house essentials are always a few that i like to highlight here in the music blog-post. Not because they are better than the others in this weeks music selection but just because all the artists that i play deserve just a bit more exposure and this is a great way to do that. We’ll talk more in a bit on how you can support the music you like to listen to directly.

First let’s take a proper look to what artists and tracks are among the 20 deep house essentials that i selected for this weeks music mix.

Kassian – Kassian Versions 01.

The first highlighted EP that i would like to talk about is the new and first release on his own new imprint ‘Kassian Versions’ With the debut vinyl only series ‘Kassian Versions 01’. Clearly produced by Kassian. 

This new EP is part of a forthcoming vinyl only series which includes 3 deep disco house bangers. A beautiful deep house essentials influenced with disco samples that are dancefloor ready. If you like 12 inches and love to dig for rare vinyl. This is def a must have since the EP is a vinyl only release, so no digital formats are available. It’s handstamped and limited to a certain amount which won’t be around for long. So be fast to grab one. This one will be released on 30-7-19 and can be pre-ordered here.

Ewan Jansen – Perfect Strangers EP.

If you look for this australian producer on the internet, you will see that there is much talked about his music. This makes perfect sense when you know that Ewan Jansen has been making music since the 90’s and is responsible for many great releases and shaping the sound of the australian house music landscape. 

With releases on legendary record labels like Mike Grant’s Moods & Grooves and Chez Damier’s Inner Balance his vinyl releases are most-wanted among many electronic music lovers who like to pay a lot for these releases.

Recently label owner Jimpster came across Ewan Jansen his music and wanted to sign him for a release on Freerange records. Now we are finally here with this great new EP released on the Freerange imprint ‘Perfect Strangers’ by Ewan Jansen which defines that real deep house sound with tracks as: Take U Away, Logarithm, Chika Kozo and the main title track Perfect Strangers.

All tracks are a must have and must listen to when you like deep house that goes beyond the standard terms of deep house. And therefore a great addition to this weeks 20 deep house essentials in Dirty Disco 315.

Aleksandir – ARS003.

While i’m writing to you about deep house the list with essentials only gets deeper and deeper as we arrive at another very great release on Artesian Sounds. From all the tracks in this weeks 20 deep house essentials this new EP by Aleksandir is giving me real goosebumps.

The ARS003 EP includes 3 new tracks that go way beyond the deep.

Spotify Podcasts.

The podcast section in Spotify is a important part of the music service nowadays. They even added it to your music library and it’s not a separate category anymore. This makes it even easier to listen to your favorite podcast whether it’s a talk, discussion or music podcast. To have Dirty Disco available in Spotify podcasts is a huge milestone as we have increased our reach with this move. There are more users on Spotify than on Apple & Google podcasts. This logically is because of the music listening service that both the other ones not have and are only podcast app with a large variety in podcasts. As soon as Apple and Google podcast integrate the podcasts with their Apple Music and Youtube Music apps, the amount of potentials podcast listeners will also there be huge.

With Dirty Disco available in Spotify podcasts i hope to reach and attract new listeners and give the current Dirty Disco community a new way to listen to the latest episodes. Dirty Disco episode 314 – What’s featured?

So now that we have our podcast listed and available in Spotify podcast, let’s take a closer look on what music is featured in Dirty Disco episode 314? Even-though last week’s episode contains a lot of electronic summer music. This week we keep that summer vibe going. But instead of the deepness from Monkey Safari, and they laid back chill sound by the Earth Boys. This week the focus lies more on the funky, jazzy and soulful grooves.

This week it’s hot here in Europe. The ventilators are still running on full capacity in the Dirty Disco studio. The weather is not the only thing that brings you heat over the last couple of weeks. In this weeks music podcast i curated 26 electronic dance tracks that bring you summer in 2019.

26 electronic dance tracks to enjoy summer in it’s fullest.

Before i start off with featuring some of the music i want to stand still for a moment with the fact that last week on the 19th of June one of the most iconic electronic music producers and inventors of the French house sound (the French touch) Philippe ‘Zdar’ Cerboneschi past away at the age of 50. Way to young this music legend left us alone with his music. Philippe was one half of the French house act Cassius, but also responsible for many other music productions under aliases and producing for other artists such as Kanye West, Jay-Z en even the Beastie Boys.

Your music will always be here with us, thank you for making beautiful music and rest in peace Philippe.

Cassius – Dreems

Among this weeks 26 electronic dance music tracks that bring a real summer vibe. Are of course also two tracks coming from the recent released new album ‘Dreems’ by Cassius. In episode 311 i already played you ‘Calliope’ which is also coming from the album. This week i will play you the tracks Vedra and Summer which both bring a real summer vibe.

Earth Boys – Mytic Music

This weeks podcast episode is full with new albums. The next on the list that i would like to give some special attention is the new album by Earth Boys – Mytic Music. This is the 6th studio album by the music producers duo from Brooklyn – New York and includes a few very enjoyable tracks to use this summer in your playlist or DJ sets. This new album is a real summer gift wether you are a Earth Boys fan or not. I will play and feature you: Low Key, Jeff’s Theme, Raining Outside and Canal St. Blues.

Monkey Safari – Hi

From the states all the way over to Europe, Germany to be exactly where we can witness the music duo Monkey Safari releasing a new album called ‘Hi’ on the Hommage label. Sven and Lars (Monkey Safari) have been taking some time to work on this album, to create an organic relaxed feel. The new album is full of deep energetic and positive tracks that really define a deep house summer. Expect deep dreamy vocals, uplifting pads and synths. Both the track that i will be playing for you in this podcast have that organic deep energetic feel that brings you a psoitive summer feeling. I will play you ‘Walls’ and the main title track of the album ‘Hi’.

Last week and the week before i already told and explained you about my Mixcloud Select curatorship, so I’m not going to bore you with that in this weeks blog-post. I will do that enough in my podcast. What i will bore you with are this weeks 24 new electronic music releases that came out this June 2019.

24 New electronic music releases in June.

That’s right! All the tracks featured in this weeks music podcast did came out in June 2019. There are 24 new electronic music releases that i selected and featured for this weeks mix. Among them there are 10 that are available on vinyl as a 12” next to being available as digital formats. This weeks releases come from a variety of record labels such as the Polish Pets Recordings. The in San Francisco based and run by Chrissy ‘The Night Owl Diner’. Freerange Records, Nervous Records, House Xtension run by Adesse Versions and much more worth mentioning electronic music labels.

Here are a few EP’s that i would like to highlight for you.

Tee Mango – 50 Songs EP.

If you listen to the weekly Dirty Disco music podcast frequently, you know that Tee Mango is not a stranger in my shows. One of the beautiful things from being a music curator through the years, is that you can witness the growth of an specific artist. At a certain point they start out with making music, they fall in your radar and slowly but steady they build out to be a very talented music producer with dope releases growing and growing further in their careers. This also goes for Tee Mango as his productions became better and better and now they are even at a point where Tee Mango collaborated with the Legend from Detroit and Moodymann collaborator Amp Fiddler on his recently released 50 Songs EP.

In this episode I’m starting out with his very dope laid back sun influenced track ‘No More Tears’ Which sounds like a sad soul song including an very famous original sample and his own vocals making they track a pleasure to listen to. Later in the mix i will also drop his other two tracks including the one where Tee Mango collaborated on with Amp Fiddler.

Psychemagik – Rattlesnake EP.

This one is released on the Polish Pets Recordings run by music producers duo Catz ‘N Dogz. A true dance-floor filler is what this is and a must have from the 24 new electronic music releases this month. Rattlesnake by the Psychemagik duo brings in a heavy bassline that makes you want to dance and makes your body move (even if you don’t want to). If you are a DJ looking for something to add to your DJ set that sets the tone and gets people to dance. This is the one you should definitely add to your play-list this summer.

Bugsy & Astroloop – Jungest EP.

In addition to Rattlesnake this new release where I’m playing two tracks from are very suitable to mix together with Psychemagiks latest Rattlesnake. They also contain a heavy bassline and have a high dance floor fill content. The new release by Bugsy & Astroloop – Jungest is released on the Freerange Records label. Make sure to get your hands on this one as it;s hor right now.

 

Chrissy – The Cool Ranch Remixes Album.

Last week in episode 311 i already played you a couple of tracks from the Cool Ranch Collection which came out on the The Night Owl Diner imprint run by the producer from San Francisco Chrissy himself. Now the remixes album on this one is also released and features some very dope releases from well know producers within the house music scene as: Eli Escobar, Eddie C, Paul Johnson, Violet en Peter Croce. I will not play you 1,

From now on the DJ only mixes and other future special episodes are available for all ‘select’ members as explained in last weeks episode here about the Mixcloud Select Curatorship. Normal episodes will be available for everybody as usual. This week i curated a new selection of tracks that is best described as deep banging beats with a touch of disco and atmosphere.

What’s happening this week in Dirty Disco 311? We are already at 311 episodes and come a long way.

Welcome to the 310th installment of my weekly podcast series. This week i have some exciting news to share with you, as i have officially become a proud Mixcloud Select curator. Read on to let me explain to you what Mixcloud Select is, and how you can be a part of it as well.

So what’s up with me being so dirty occasionally? Well I’m actually not being dirty, it’s just your mind and how you interpret things. It’s your perspective and they way you look and in this case listen at things. Being naked and recording a DJ mix and new Dirty podcast sounds like something really good! It would really make you feel free and independent. But to be honest it’s not about that, I’m not sitting here naked writing this and or making a DJ mix for this weeks episode.

Or am i? Naked & uncut in the studio in the mix with 20 beautiful new electronic music gems that came out last couple of weeks. Well, i leave the first matter to your mind and imagination. The fact is that i curated and found you some new music releases from which i think you should really take a listen to. Without a sheet for my mouth I’m explaining all there is about on these new releases. In my opinion these are some real gems you need to take in consideration to add to your music collection and or DJ sets to push them even further.

Dirty Disco 309 overview.

Le Hutin – Inward Hellflip – De La Groove.

Here are some new EP’s and a album that i think you would like. On the De La Groove imprint there is a new EP by Le Hutin – Inward Hellflip which is the 3rd EP on this label and has influences from jazz, 2-step, lounge and deep house music. Next to that Le Hutin used this new releases to push his boundaries and capacities as a real composer rather than just a producer.

DJ Nature – Comforting Fantasies – Future Boogie.

Next there is DJ Nature – Comforting Fantasies on the Future Boogie Recordings label. With the Comforting Fantasies EP, DJ Nature follows up on his in 2018 released Ultimate Delusion EP on the same Future Boogie imprint. I will play you at least two tracks from his new release, expect earthy vocals, marching rhythms and breezy house jams that make you feel one with nature again.

M.ono – Spritti Moments Album – Rose Records.

Among the 20 music gems that i selected this week for you there is also one new album by M.ono – Spritti Moments on the Rose Records label. Even-though the album is new and just released on the 24th of may 2019. It includes 12 tracks that have been produced by M.ono between 2008 and 2018. The album is a well thought curated selection from his won tracks that he created through the years. From straight forward house beats, to wandering deep disco and breakish 2-step kind of beats. M.ono – Spritti Moments is a must have if you ask me. It’s available on all formats as digital, through the music streaming services and as a 2 x 12”.

Damian Rausch – Wake Up – Apparel Music.

Next there is Damian Rausch – Wake Up on Apparel Music. This EP includes 3 tracks from this newcomer to the electronic music scene. Apparel Music introduces this young producer with this new EP which is the 8th release on the Apparel catalog. Damian grew up in a musical environment, where his mother was a piano teacher and his father a musician. From playing guitar and in several bands Damian started to move more towards the electronic music scene. Firstly creating Hip Hop instrumentals and not to long after that with the help of the local Techno influences he started to create house music himself. His new Wake Up EP is a real tight house groover that deserves some exposure and being played by more D...

After last weeks 26 electronic music essentials, it’s time for some unalloyed pleasure with this weeks essentials selection that i once again curated and mixed together into one smooth mix for you. The overall sound in this installment will be mostly electronic deep house music with a touch of funky soul. Jazzy Jazz and colorful Disco. To build it up to a more sophisticated atmospheric journey in music.

Unalloyed Pleasure in Dirty Disco 308.

Let’s take a look into what you can expect in this weeks music podcast. Last week i found a couple of new EP’s that came out on some real good record labels like: Quintessentials, K7 Records, the label run by Soul Clap. Freerange records, DFTD (the sub label by Defected) M-Plant, Blaq Numbers, Meda Fury and Fine Germany records. Among these releases are new ep’s from Hugo Mari, Johannes Albert, the father daughter duo ‘Floorplan’. Urulu, Todd Edwards & Sinden.

Hugo Mari – Unalloyed Pleasure EP.

I sort of dedicated this weeks show title to the new EP from Hugo Mari – Unalloyed Pleasure EP which has been released on the Freerange Records label. This release includes 3 new tracks from Hugo Mari. All 3 tracks, Raise It Up, Just A Memory and the main title track Unalloyed Pleasure are being played in this weeks essentials mix. Next to that there is good news for all ‘deep house / electronic music vinyl lovers’ As the release is not only available as digital format and through the music streaming services. But it’s also available as a hand-stamped 12”.

Johannes Albert – Roads & Things EP.

Not only the new Unalloyed Pleasure release is an EP where i play many tracks from’ The new release by Johannes Albert – Roads & Things on the Fine Germany label also deserves 3 plays from us. It seems that Johannes Albert dedicated the track names to some streets. I’m not sure where these streets are, i did not do some research on that. But track names like 97 Austin Blvd, 3001 Larking Way and 116 Pilgrim Street can be found around the globe but it seems that most of them are findable in the United Kingdom.

Urulu – Metroid EP.

Next to Unalloyed Pleasure and Roads & Things. I’m also playing 3 tracks from the new EP by Urulu – Metroid EP. Released on the These Things Take Time imprint this release includes 4 new tracks by producer Urulu. In this weeks podcast I’m playing you the main title track ‘Metroid’, Orbital and Static Dancer. Which are all deep towards the tech side but with a lot of atmosphere kind of tracks. For the real vinyl lovers and crate diggers out there. There is a heavyweight 12” available to order.

Quintessentials & Blaq Numbers with a various artists EP series.

Among these new EP’s by above mentioned producers. There are also a few various artists EP’s on Blaq Numbers and Quintessentials. The first one Blaq Numbers released their first Cheesylover 001 EP which includes new tracks by Larry Houl – Hot Boogie, which lives up to its name with a very Nu Disco rich boogie sound.
