Welcome to Free Music Monday, and before we start i have to warn you. We are probably to late since the show automatically starts playing and you already heard the intro message saying things that are not suitable for younger ears. So cover your children’s ears if you still can. There is a bit of explicit content in the opening and ending of this episode, so please be warned if you don’t like that kind of stuff. That’s right! In the early day’s of Dirty Disco i liked to play a lot music that was available for free. And i included a lot of these so called free downloads. Through the years the amount of free downloads in my weekly music show became less, and only occasionally. Because i know that you miss these free giveaways in music and i also like them very much, i decided to include them more often and try to find a bit more of them for future episodes. Since i have some for you in this episode i decided to call this one ‘Free Music Monday’ In the last couple of episodes i already included some other free downloads as well. As you can see i have been very busy collecting free music for you in the last couple of episodes. These tracks are not only free to download. But also from very high quality. It’s not that because it’s free, they are less good. Now in addition of this list with free downloadable music i have for you a new free giveaway EP in this Free Music Monday episode. It’s only a week ago since we spoke, or at least since i spoke to you. Many of you do talk back and respond on the episodes through e-mail and on my social channels. So yes there is a 2 way communication system. Back to the topic, I’m back with a brand new show filled with great music. And as you know Dirty Disco is for everybody, we play music for professionals, Disc Jockey’s and music lovers. We are a source for inspiration whether you use music in your profession as a DJ or as a music lover who loves to listen to and enjoy music.

Electronic music has evolved, and is bigger than ever! There are not only DJ’s and ravers that love electronic music genres like” House music, Techno and all other genres. Electronic music has become much wider and nowadays is a genre not only to dance and rave to, but also to listen to as a music purist, or for other reasons like music for sporting, creating moods and atmospheres on gatherings, party’s and other occasions where music is a great guidance. At Dirty Disco we play music for professionals, DJ’s & music lovers. For whatever reason you like electronic music you can come to us to fill your needs.

Music to get inspired by.

Among our listeners are people that use the music we play in a great variety. There are other DJ’s like myself that listen to me to get inspired with new music from the scene. There are other music professionals, like podcast and radio show makers. Playlist curators like myself, record companies and publishers that are out to look for new talent. Singers, songwriters they all listen to Dirty Disco to get inspired in some sort of way.

Music lovers, purists and vinyl lovers.

I do not only play music for professionals & DJ’s. But there is a very big group of music purists and music lovers out there that love to get updated on new releases and new music. It might even be older music that they just never heard before. Therefor Dirty Disco is not only a place to get inspired but on the other hand we are also a place where talented music producers get promoted and get that perfect exposure to the right people. Among the music lovers there are also people that love to play vinyl, and also this group can get a lot of satisfaction in our weekly music podcast since 50 until sometimes 100% of the music we play is available on vinyl and as a 12”. Mostly limited but that what it makes so special nowadays and that’s what we are a good place for crate diggin‘.

Get inspired with Dirty Disco 297.

Let’s see what i curated this week for you in Dirty Disco episode 297. Last week the first half of the show was filled with new music from The Reflex, Folamour and some other very good Disco House Producers. Check it out here. The second half of the show became deeper where i played you fine deep-house music. This week is no different, i start off with some very dope Disco edit’s by Motte, on famous Disco classics by Keni Burke, Melba Moore and R. Scott. To add some more Disco groove to it, you can also hear some great music from the Sundries Digital imprint, and a little bit older track by Yuksek on Party Fine France.

As soon as we enter the deep zone with these very good deep house tracks that i curated this week. You will hear new music by Fold, Fort Romeau, Boddhi Satva on Local Talk records. Dirty Disco 296 – We love music!

As you can see our electronic music podcast goes way beyond just playing music. We grew out and still growing strong to be a worldwide community of electronic music lovers. Among us are professionals, like DJ’s and producers. Publishers, record companies. But even more music lovers, that love real made with passion music. There are vinyl lovers, that use Dirty Disco to dig for new dope 12” releases in electronic music. But also a lot of great people from al levels and classes that just like to listen to a refined sound that is selected with care and the same great passion as the music is being made with.

This week i managed once again to create a mixed selection for you that I’m happy with. I came across a bunch of very nice Disco tracks, some Jazzy, Funk and Soul influenced Chill music. Like always some broken beats and great deep house moods for you to listen to, or in your DJ sets. Next to the highlighted albums and EP’s here below. I’m playing you new music from Hurlee on the Discoweey label. Fold with a new Ep titled Astral Planes on the Shall Not Fade Records label.

There was a time, that electronic music wasn’t for everybody. There was even a time a certain group of people, and mostly the older generations were saying that this ‘computer music’ won’t stay here for long. Well they were wrong weren’t they? Computer music is here and a lot of the popular music is made on computers nowadays. Next to the fact that many music is made on computers that also makes it sort of electronic. Since it’s produced on an electronic device. I’m not here to discuss the differences in music, I’m here to make electronic music work for you.

If you still think that electronic music is only house music, and that’s not your thing so you don’t like electronic music. You are wrong. Hip Hop, Trap, Disco, Soul, Jazz are all genres which are also being made on electronic equipment devices. Which make them electronic music, right? Where back in the days the term ‘electronic music’ was mostly meant for a specific genre. Nowadays it’s can also point to the way it’s been made. Just like you had electric guitars and electronic piano’s back in the days. Now there is so much electronic equipment being used to make music. On of the biggest advantages of this is that there is so much musical talent out there that makes music in al sorts of ways we can listen to, and i can curate here for you in Dirty Disco.

Music inspires people to make new music.

Let me make electronic music work for you and show you that there is so much good music out there. Just tune into this or any of the previous Dirty Disco episodes to see how much good music there is. Even when we look at the electronic music genres, like Deep House, Nu Disco, House Music, Electronica, ‘real’ House Music, Trip Hop, Break beat and so on, and so on. You will notice that music is there to inspire and that it inspires people to make new music. Elements of all genres are being used in new genres, and new genres are being transformed into other subgenre which on it’s own after a few years turns into something different again. The time when it was easy to put a track in a specific genre are gone. Nowadays you can put one track on more genres, just because of the influences.

Genre specific.

It would be a good idea to discuss genres and specific ones in a separate blog once. We can look at what a genre defines and when you can say a certain track belongs to that genre more than that it belongs to another. Cheese with herbs is still cheese, if you know what i mean? You can put it between the cheeses, but you can’t call it a standard or normal cheese anymore.

Hi everybody, it’s good to be back this week with a new episode, and it’s going to be a good one. Last weeks mixed playlist filled with Dirty Disco & Deep House tracks was very well received by many. So thank you very much for listening and tuning in with me. This week i stumbled up on many dope Disco grooves, as soon as i started mixing these tracks together i found myself stuck in the mix and i couldn’t get out of it. That’s why you can listen this week to a extra long episode filled with 29 Nu Disco essentials in a dope DJ mix in Dirty Disco 294.

This week in Dirty Disco 294.

Just like every week i check the promo’s that are e-mailed to me. And i have my weekly ritual in finding new music on the web. That’s why every week and every single episode of Dirty Disco is a bit different than the previous. Sometimes it’s more Disco oriented, and sometimes more towards the Deep or a bit more House Music. Even though i always try to find a balance in these music genres to create a harmonized Dirty Disco DJ mix. filled with a balanced combination of Nu Disco, Deep House, House Music and Electronica tracks. It can occur that a episode is merely focused on one of these genres within the electronic dance music genre.

As an example i can take episode 292 where dreamy atmospheric deep-house towards deep tech-house took the overhand. Last week in episode 293 i already played a couple of more Nu Disco tracks, but this week it’s a real Disco party here in the studio. This week we do not only have a extra long episode with an additional 40 minutes of music. But it’s filled with 29 Nu Disco essentials in a smooth DJ mix. Among those Disco vibes you can hear variations in Disco, Funk and soulful house. Zouk, Brazilian funk, African Disco and and rare funk grooves are making you body shiver and shake.

That’s right! I saw, i curated, i mixed. And i couldn’t stop mixing. It was quite hard since my selection contained 114 curated tracks. Among them there were plenty of deep house tracks. But since i started with that Nu Disco sound, i kept selecting Disco after Disco and made a smooth DJ mix with nice transitions, as i say for myself. Filled with 29 Nu Disco essentials. To be honest that’s not completely true. The last 3 tracks are deep house tracks with two of them being from Matthieu Faubourg. But the rest definitely contains some sort of Disco, Funk or Soul.

Everybody who listens to me (Kono Vidovic) and my weekly mixed playlist approaches this from another angle. Some of you are DJ’s or music professionals like myself. And others are lovers of electronic music. The music scene has evolved and so it’s audience. Where older generations in the past claimed that this ‘computer music’ wont’ stand a chance and would stay here with us. It’s now a lifestyle. Electronic music is a part of our lives and spread it’s tentacles everywhere. Electronic music is now much wider than it used to be.

Even though when we talk about electronic dance music we mean House and Deep House. Even popular music is a part of this as big DJ names have taken over the charts for many years now and even hip-hop or pop music producers are making electronic music. Therefor electronic music is much wider and goes beyond that small scene back in the 80’s and 90’s. With that said, we must never forget where dance music came from.

Music platform to promote and inspire with good music.

With our weekly mixed playlist we try to inspire DJ’s & music lovers with new music. We promote producers DJ’s and labels to give them the exposure they deserve as they put a lot of hard work in theirs music and releases. The music industry is a though one, not only to get recognized but also to give recognition as the industry is in many ways cutting itself in it’s fingers.

Dirty Disco 293 – A journey that never stops.

At least i hope so. Sometimes it’s hard to run things on this side. Since it takes a lot of time to create a new show. And the expenses are not making things better as we don’t have an revenue model. Hi people, how are you doing? I hope all is good. Once again a managed to create a new weekly music selection and dropped al these tracks in a new 2 hour DJ mix. Let’s see what i found for you in this music podcast episode.

This weeks music selection.

You know that Dirty Disco is very versatile in sound. If you are a frequent listener, you know exactly what the Dirty Disco sound is when you hear it. But as a new comer, it might surprise you a bit because you were expecting Disco and maybe disco influenced music only. Well we do play a lot of Disco influenced music. But that is because all electronic dance music genres found their existence in disco music.

You see Disco was the ancestor of electronic dance music. The ancestor of the 4 x 4 four to the floor structure that electronic dance music and especially house music is now well known for. Therefor our show is named Dirty Disco as we play what we feel like as long as it fits within the Dirty Disco concept of Electronic Music. Even if we do play Disco music and all the new variations on it, like Nu Disco, Indie Dance and so on. We also play an equal amount of Deep House music and House music with here and there some real Electronica tracks within the BPM range from 70 BPM until 140.

With this now said and written down, it might surprise you that this weeks music selection is very much focused on atmospheric Dreamy Deep House. There is just a tiny bit of Disco in the beginning. Starting out with a electronic beat focused track followed up by 2 Disco tracks and one Disco influenced Deep House track. Right after this the vibe becomes a Dreamy Deep House vibe.

Dirty Disco 292.

Like i said we are starting of with a electronica break which i use as the intro tracks of this weeks music selection. Followed up by a new Dimitri From Paris Remix on Ashford & Simpson’s Stay Free. A very nice rework of The Reflex on Wham’s – Everything She Wants which is now available on a 12”. And a Deeper Disco influenced track from the Overture 2 compilation album by Tomasz Guiddo & Kasar – Hide (Ewan Pearson Extended Disco Remix.

From here things are only getting deeper into house, with dreamy atmospheric landscapes that change into a bit more of those Deep Tech house music tracks. In the end of this blog-post you will find the track-list / playlist like always. Feel free to use it how you please. Here in the middle of the post i will highlight some EP’s and albums from this weeks music selection.

Session Victim – Dawn EP – Delusions Of Grandeur.

The producer duo from Germany ‘Session Victim’ knows how to push boundries when it comes to House and Deep House music. Their release are so sophisticated and from high quality and creativity. The new Dawn EP is no exception on this. Except for the fact that the worked togheter with 2 other artists on two tracks. The main EP title track ‘Dawn’ is a collaboration with London based Deep House producer Nebraska. And the track ‘Hear The Sun’ is a collab with likewise German based producer Iron Curtis. Next to that there is a third original track ‘Taste Of Life’ and a remix by Sven Weisemann on Dawn which made the track even deeper than it’s original/

All with all the new Session Victim Dawn EP is a must have for Deep house DJ’s and music lovers. It will be released on the 8th of February on the Delusions Of Grandeur imprint. More information can be found here on their Bandcam...
