If there is somebody you can rely on to be here every week over and over again. It must be me.

Music is for everybody, the music played in each Dirty Disco installment is our house music. Nobody owns house music, as nobody owns music, and yet they do. After last weeks back to basics episode I’m back with a new show filled with new electronic music gems.

Our House Music.

People that make music, such as artists have the intellectual ownership on that musical piece. You can’t buy it and resell it, or copy and share it without their permission. You can’t even use pieces of it in your YouTube video or even in a Podcast without their permission. Yet it’s for everybody to listen to and get inspired by. Even the people who own music were once inspired to create a particular piece of music. So music is a difficult thing when you think of it. Therefor let’s look at something more generic in music than just a track. Let’s look at genres and in this case House music. You see nobody owns house music, this is simply said my house and once you enter it it then becomes our house and our house music. Which are the famous words by Chuck Roberts in Jack had a groove.

It’s true. Nobody owns house music, it’s our house music. Why? Because if we don’t listen to your music, it simply wouldn’t exist or mean anything anymore. So music industry don’t be such a bitch with music. We understand why it’s needed to protect the intellectual ownership. But your policy also keeps the music from evolving and people from creating creative ideas.

Back to the music, we own this we are house and electronic music. So this is our house music. In Dirty Disco we don’t make a difference, everybody is welcome in our house to listen to our house music. No matter where you are from, which believe or culture you have. We are all equal here at Dirty Disco. In this weeks installment i present to you a few new releases on labels such as: Roots For Bloom, Unknown To The Unknown, Nervous Records, Classic Music Company, Super Tuff, Esuoh White with it’s 2nd installment vinyl only series. Omena Records from Sweden with a new release by Tooli.

More artists are being played such as: Cody Currie and his debut release on the Classic Music Compant imprint. G. Markus (Ben Gomori) with a very tight and dope release on Gator Boots. Baltra is Ahead Of Time in a very beautiful piece of music. Ben Hauke, Roy Vision are presenting you some prooper Deep House music to groove to. See Other and Akyra are making us guess which original samples they used in their works. And Nachtbraker sended us his promo EP Leonardo Ceviche.

After that enormous megamix from last week I’m back at you with a new installment where we take things back 2 basics again. Everything turning normal again does not mean i don’t have dope music for you in this music podcast episode. Let’s go back to basics with Kono Vidovic in Dirty Disco 305.

Back 2 basics.

All i mean with back 2 basics is that this is a standard installment like you are used to. No special edition, extra long episode or DJ megamix like last week that included 77 tracks. No this weeks it’s just that plain old 2 hour Dirty Disco episode with Kono Vidovic (me) as your curator, selector, DJ and host providing you this weeks selection of dope and beautiful music.

Back 2 basics does not mean boring but just back to create room for another explosion of electronic music goodness. This week there are a many very good releases and EP’s i want to share with you. There is a new release by Peggy Gou who recently started her own imprint and released her first ‘Moment’ EP in her Gudu Records.

Shir Khan is back with his ‘presents Black Juke Box’ installment with this time new music from Felipe Gordon. A couple of years ago Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca released a couple of tracks on their own currently sleeping Gomma Records label. Among those tracks are: Ero Disco Theme, I Love New York and In This Moment with Hard Tom. Because of it’s freshness and that the Nu Disco sound still perfectly fits in nowadays music sound. They decided to release to tracks again but this time on the Toy Tonics label.

With that must also be said that their by now classic tracks where being sold by big amounts on Discogs. So that also was a reason to why not release it again, since there was a high demand for their music.

One of my favorite producers ‘Girls of the Internet’ are also back with a new EP, called Humble. The EP contains 2 original tracks with two female vocalists. Linda Muriel can be heard on the main track Humble. And Olivia Louise is doing her vocal thing on the dope track ‘U Changed’.

Next to those gems, there is much more music in this back 2 basics episode. Cinthie on Aus Music, Ari Bald on Haws, Kornél Kovács with his studio album ‘Stockholm Marathon’ on Studio Barnhus. Crackazat with a new EP on Z Records and many many more.

Today it’s a very special day because I’m presenting and giving you this Kingsday Kingsize XL DJ Mix with 77 tracks in a 6 hour installment of Dirty Disco 304. To exactly understand why I’m doing this you have to read on in this blog-post about Kingsday, the Kingsize DJ Mix and the motivation behind this.

Yes here we are doing what we always do. Presenting you the finest new music from the electronic dance music scene. If you payed attentions last week, you may have noticed that i wasn’t there with you in a new episode. This weeks installment 304 had to take place last week, but because of some unplanned circumstances i had to skip the recording of the podcast. So what happened and motivated me to give you this Kingsday Kingsize XL DJ Mix with 77 tracks in a 6 hour journey?

Last week when Dirty Disco 304 had to happen, and you were probably waiting for it to show up here on my website, Mixcloud or any of the other music hosting platforms. You came out empty handed. First, last week was Easter weekend and most of you know I’m always there with a Easter DJ Mix like this one filled with beautiful Easter eggs for you to find. Or this Easter music special here.

Therefor finding yourself empty handed with no new Dirty Disco episode and new music releases. You could expect something may have happened. Through Facebook i left you message that due to some unplanned circumstances i wasn’t able to record a new Dirty Disco podcast. Today it’s time to enlighten you why this happened and why I’m back with this Kingsday mix special.

On Easter and out of the blue my father in law had some serious health issues where he needed to stay in the hospital for a few day’s. Luckily the doctors fixed him and now he is feeling great again. With being Easter, when you have quality family time you can imagine that these situations take a lot of time and focus to deal with. So far for the reason why i was absence last week.

So why this Kingsday DJ megamix?

Many of you know me, and if you know Kono Vidovic, than you know I’m always coming back strong making things up with you. Last week i got hit by the flu and i find myself not feeling so well. Because of the coughing i have a soar throat which you can tell when you listen to this weeks podcast show. On the 27th of April we celebrate Kingsday here in The Netherlands. Every year on this day we celebrate the birthday of our king. The whole country turns in the color orange. And everybody goes outside celebrating, having fun, partying. Kids go out and sell their old toys and old stuff on clothes on the side of the road. Adults go out with their kids and or celebrating by going to party’s watching and hearing DJ’s band and other acts and artist live performing.

Every year there is a lot going on on Kingsday, it’s a real happening where people connect and have a lot of fun. You can already see it coming. Because of the flu i wasn’t able to party and celebrate Kingsday with all the other people, so i decided to kick out my children and wife to go and have fun with the others as i stayed home and took a dive in the studio to treat you guys and girls with a very special extra long Kingsday Kingsize XL DJ Mix with 77 tracks in a 6 hour journey.

Dirty Disco installment 303 with Kono Vidovic.

Like always and every week I’m here with you once again. Last week was my birthday and i created this Birthday mix for you. It’s always a big pleasure for me to have you and see / hear your reactions through mail and on my social channels, so thank you very much! This week i came across a few very dope releases which a want to mention in the blog as well. I will clearly point them out in this weeks music podcast. 22 must have nu electronica & deep house tracks.

As the title suggests i have 22 tracks for you in this weeks music mix. Among those tracks are releases from: Mad Rey on the Coeur De Pierre compilation on D.ko. 9th House with a new EP titled ‘Farout’ on the Nice Age imprint. Some dope deep tech house by Tape Hiss with Crystal Voyage on Lost Palms the Shall Not Fade sister label. And a beautiful release remixed by Project Pablo from Dreamcast & ZDBT – Take A Chance (On Love). Next tot that i have included many more beautiful music releases in this weeks music mix.

Yann Polewka & Da Growch – Common Dimension.

The two french producers Yann Polewka & Da Growch have met each other a couple of years ago on the Dimensions Festival which is being held in Croatia on every year, but is quite different than the other festivals on Zrcé beach on island Pag for example. And is one of the better electronic dance music festivals that we know today. Since then the two producers stayed in touch and the plan to create music together grew into a collaboration on a full album which came out on the 19th of March 2019 on the Pétrole imprint. They named the album after their shared experience ‘Common Dimension’.

Adesse Versions – Blue Monday.

This next release is expected to be a summer banger and often played track on many festivals around the globe and in Europe. As many people know the original where this remix is made on. Even the original band who created this classic in 1983 have given their approval for this remix made by Adesse Versions. Of course we are talking about Adesse Versions – Blue Monday which is a 2019 remix and new jacket of the original classic by New Order back in the 80’s.

Harvey Sutherland & Jace XL – Something In The Water.

This is the first release of the new project started by Harvey Sutherland. Harvey teamed up with a few very talented artists which are now known as the Harvey Sutherland studio band. Together with Jace XL on the vocals they created a new release called ‘Something In The Water’. Not only this is a very dope and beautiful well crafted piece of music. It’s also created to make people aware of the climate changes and the problems of with plastic filled oceans.

To celebrate this, the installment is extra long and very colorful. In this Dirty Disco 301 episode you can expect a wide range of electronica music. I’m here to bring you good times and a lot of positivity as it’s easier to be negative than rather be positive. To give you a bit of extra motivation to live and think positive I’m here with Dirty Disco as your guide. Not only bringing you good new electronic music but also a bit of strength in times of need.

Music in Dirty Disco 299?

Even though i love to get you emotionally involved and make you feel good with my words. Dirty Disco is mostly about new electronic music that comes straight from the scene rather than the commercial record companies who like to manipulate your buying behavior. There are many producers and artists that deserve way more attention and exposure than some of the currently leading artists. Many of them are being hyped up by big companies and marketing budgets and have nothing to do with good and passionate music.

Here in Dirty Disco we listen differently. We do not listen to what’s being hyped up. We choose our own way of listening to music and you those rare gems by online crate digging and those artists that make real good music from the soul. Some of them are really famous and big in the electronic music scene. But many of them are not but on a good way. The same goes for labels, as there are many established names. But we also provide a platform for the smaller and lesser known labels to promote their selves and their music.
