Welcome to another new music podcast filled with dope Deep House essentials to start 2019 with. We are in week 3, and this is our second episode this year. In our first Dirty Disco episode 2019 already started as a good year for electronic dance music. This week we will continue with that vibe, playing you a lot of new deep house and house music related tunes.

Deep House Essentials.

Deep house music is for sure the main focus in this weeks episode. Combined with some banging real house music the overall tone is set to deep music. Expect music from labels such as: Madhouse Records with a remix from Kerri Chandler on CPEN’s I’m Searching, Beats Of No Nation, Feedasoul Records, Night Vision Music, Merge Layers Records, Fina Records and many more like these great names. Over the last few weeks these labels have been releasing a lot deep house essentials that are a must have for your music collection as a DJ or music lover.

Music episode 290! Wow time flies by, i have been doing Dirty Disco for more than 5 years on a weekly base. Curating the latest in electronic dance music. So far the support has been fantastic and you guys tuning in with me every week is just amazing and keeps me motivated doing this. Let us continue sharing the love and passion for music.

Can i be your honeydripper? And i know it sounds a bit of nasty, but that just depends on your own imaginations. A honeydripper is nothing less than somebody who drips honey in their tea with or without a honeydripper.

At least in my imagination. Honeydripper also happens to be a producer with a new EP called Sunday Street, released on Night Vision Music. On the EP are 4 tracks, the 2 originals Sunday Street and Like This. There are also 2 remixes by Subjoi and Nick Garcia on the tracks. This is the very last Dirty Disco music podcast episode of this year. Recorded on the 31st of December and therefor an extra long special. This music podcast episode will last for 3 hours and 43 minutes and is dedicated to music by the living House Legend Kerri Chandler.

The Kerri Chandler Special.

Just like last week, i decided once again to create a special Dirty Disco episode. Last week was because of Christmas and we had the episode recorded on Christmas eve, because i was in a good mood i decided to make it an longer one. You can check out the Dirty Disco Christmas special here. Today it happens to be the 31st of December 2018, and therefor i decided to once again give you a special episode that goes well along with New Years Eve. Because of the recent music share by Kerri on the first Christmas day. When he dropped 70 of his produced tracks for free on the internet. I decided to do a Kerri Chandler special.

Let me explain this to you. In august Kerri shared 43 of his own productions with the world for free in a 2 GB download pack. Last Christmas he did this again and added some more music to the already 43 rare gems. He now shared 70 tracks for free with the world. I wrote a blog post about it, with the downloadable file in it. You can read this blog and find the Kerri Chandler download here.

Because of this very exceptional share by one of the best House Producers and real House Legends. And also the fact that we are celebrating Old and New years eve, i decided to create a Kerri Chandler Special with these tracks he gave away for free.

Do not understand me wrong here. This is not a DJ mix that Kerri made. But i DJ mix that i (Kono Vidovic) host and DJ of Dirty Disco, made with only Kerri Chandler music in it. I took his 70 tracks that he gave away for free. I curated the pack and made a smaller selection of the tracks that i wanted to use in this DJ mix. And started mixing. Finally i ended up with 33 tracks in this 3 hour and 43 minute DJ mix.

Who is Kerri Chandler?

After reading all this and listening to Dirty Disco 288 (The Kerri Chandler Special) It might be so that you don’t really know who the man is. Or it might just be the very first time you hear from his name. So let me explain you a bit who Kerri Chandler is and what it is that he does.

Kerri Chandler is a House DJ and producer that was born in 1969 under his full name Kerri Camar Chandler in New Jersey. Where he grew up in a very musical family of Jazz musicians. His Father ‘Joseph Chandler’ was also a DJ and the reason why Kerri also ended up behind the decks of big local night clubs. With music and DJ’ing already being injected on a very young age, Kerri also started making music and started his very own record label in 1989 called ‘Express Records’.

The only reason why I’m calling this music podcast a Christmas special, is because of Christmas. ;-). I’m not playing any Christmas music, I’m not Santa Clause and I’m also not giving away presents. Maya Jane Coles – Waves & Whirlwinds.

Let me right away start with on of the finest ladies in electronic music. Maya Jane Coles has been doing her thing since 2006 in electronic music. Creating some of the best Deep House music tracks out there and doing remixes for Massive Attack and the Gorillaz for example and just to name a few big names. Last week she released her new Waves & Whirlwinds EP on the I Am ME Recordings Label.

The Waves & Whirlwinds EP includes 5 beautiful atmospheric dreamy landscaped electronica tracks including this weeks PLAY. I Chose the track Visionary as this weeks play because we play music by Maya Jane Coles very often. I love her laid back style and creativity to create dope and playable deep house and electronic music that is accessible for many people. Whether you like Deep House and Tech More, Or if you are a lover of those Disco grooves. Maya Jane Coles fits in more genres and playlists than you can imagine. Thinking and producing music beyond the border is the result of this.

Talking House Vol 7 – Local Talk Records.

Art Of Tones, Soulphiction, S3A, Marcel Lune, Tee Mango are just a few of the many names that frequently release music on the Local Talk Records label. These names are also very often played by us here in the Dirty Disco music podcasts. Wether their music is released on Local Talk or on another imprint. We really love the sound of Local Talk Records. Every year they release their Talking House series. This year they are up to volume 7 that includes tracks by the mentioned producers. Harrison BDP – Yearning For Yesterday.

Anyway, Harrison BDP is a producer that we play often the last year. We really love his music and last week he released a new EP on the Lost Palms imprint. Art Of Tones – Unbalanced.

On one of our favorite and often played record labels, Local Talk Records recently is released the new music album from Art Of Tones. Maybe better known as Ludovic Llorca. Art Of Tones dropped his new album ‘Unbalanced’ The album includes 11 tracks with a few of them being released in the last year already on several EP’s. On the album you can hear a variety of musical tastes that Ludovic knows how to handle. It’s filled with beautiful deep-house & nu disco tracks like you are used to from Art Of Tones. In this weeks music essentials selection i have included 6 of the 11 tracks. Which is your favorite?

The digital release is already available as on the music streaming services. The vinyl will be released in the end of December 2018.

Madcat – The Doors Of Perception EP

This EP by Madcat is so amazing hot! When i selected this weeks PLAY, i had a hard time deciding between one of the tracks from this EP. And the final PLAY track which is listed here below. The whole ‘The Doors Of Perception EP’ is really beautiful and therefor i included al 4 tracks on this EP in this weeks music mix. My favorite tracks from this release are Le Jeu Du Roi D’Ur and Call Me Ishmael. This is what i like to call Deep Disco with jazzy and soulful influences. The EP is available on all formats including vinyl through the german online vinyl store Deejay.

Cosmonection – Menorca EP

On this EP by Cosmonection i found this weeks PLAY. But before we look into PLAY. Let’s look at the EP it’s self. Cosmonection – Menroca EP is released on the famous Delusions Of Grandeur imprint, and includes 4 tracks. The main title track Menorca is a real with sun-filled beach chill groover. But you could also listen to it as a dreamy landscape for those warm winter-nights. Let’s call it deep-house with a lot of atmosphere and a synthesizer taking you away into a journey of sound.

The second track that i really liked is the track ‘You’ I finally did not ended up playing the original since i liked the version by Session Victim more. Therefor it become the listed here below teack of the week. Next to You and it’s remix, there is also the track ‘Light’. Which brings a less more deepness and more synths, pads, an arpeggiator and atmospheres to dream away with. All with all the overall sound of this new EP by Cosmonection is very dope, deep satisfying.

A very often heard name in our show is electronic music producer Felipe Gordon. Felipe always delivers music that we really dig and find perfectly for Dirty Disco. Even though Deep Fried Banana EP has been released in July this year. We still want to mention it in our highlights. I haven’t played it before and this time i came across it once more, so i decided to play it for you in this weeks music podcast.

As you might have heard. This week i got grabbed by the flu, who forced me to lay down in my bed the whole weekend. This time and especially Saturday was the hardest part. Track of the week – Jacques Greene – Avatar Beach

I had this track already in my possession last week. But i wasn’t able to play it and made it match inside the selection of music podcast episode 283. Which i found a bit of a pity, but happily ever after i managed to include at least one track from the new album by Jacques Greene in this weeks episode. Therefor i chose it as ‘The track of the week’ Jacques Greene – Avatar Beach is a real dope sounding electronica record. That includes some heavyweight bass and deep vocals that really uplift you into higher dimensions. The track comes from his recently released new album ‘Fever Focus’ Which is an incredible dope album. Make sure to check it out in the mix in this episode. George FitzGerald – All That Must Be (Remixes)

Another music album that i really would like to highlight here for you. Is the recently dropped remixes album by George FitzGerald – All That Must Be. We all know George FitzGerald as a realy great & talented electronica producer. His tracks are always very well though trough with beautiful and perfect arrangements. The sounds and harmonies he uses are incredible. The only down-side of his music is that it’s not always really danceable or playable in my weekly mixes. You see a lot of electronica tracks and this goes for the most tracks in this music genre. Are produced on a very high BPM range (or very low BPM range) Most of the times the BPM lies above 130 beats per minute and beyond. Which makes them perfect to start or to end with.

If a specific track has a dope beat progression or nice atmosphere going on, it can be used as a break in a part of your DJ mix. But if your DJ mix is not set to only be electronica but mostly House Music, than these electronica tracks are sometimes a bit hard to fit within t...

We are in week 48 of 2018, which means that there are only 4 weeks left, before we enter 2019. I’m in a good vibe today which put’s through in the music selection and the DJ mix that i made. Therefor added extra minutes to this weeks music podcast episode, which brings you 243 minutes of deep house in the mix in Dirty Disco 283.

House Cutz Vol 2 – Razor ‘N Tape Records.

Released on the in Brooklyn based House Music label Razor ‘N Tape. Includes 10 tracks that define the broken house music sound of the label. With artists like: Loz Goddard, Kraak & Smaak, M.ono, Luvless, Fouk, just to name a few and of course not forget to mention Dirtytwo, whit their chosen track of the week. Which is also coming from this album compilation. We included 3 tracks from this album in this weeks radio show. The album is available in all formats, including 12”. Track of the week: Dirtytwo – Back In The Day.

Our track of the week comes from the above mentioned House Cutz sampler. The reason why i chose this track as Dirty banger of the week. I was looking for a deep house groove with that real authentic Chicago House sound. From all tracks in this weeks episode, Dirtytwo – Back In The Days, definitely brings you back to Chicago. I was preferring Faux Polynesia from Kassian above this one, but that track is not included in the other streams of the episode. So i had to stick with a track that is being played on all channels. The ones from Kassian are included in the adittional minutes in this episode.

Kassian – Faux Polynesia EP.

Like i mentioned in the paragraph above, this EP is included in the extra minutes of playing time in Dirty Disco 283. Which makes it all together a total of 243 minutes of deep house in the mix.
