In our weekly radio show, we always combine a variety of electronic music tracks into a nice smooth DJ mix, for easy listening pleasure. Most of the time, the sound can be defined as Deep & Disco. In some episodes, the focus lies on the more Disco sound of music, and sometimes which happens to be the case in this episode. More on the Deep House sound. This is what defines Deep House radio music in Dirty Disco Radio 273.

First of all, thank you for being here with me. It’s always good to have you here on my side, listening to a new episode. This week I’m bringin you the Deep House Radio sound in this 273rd episode of Dirty Disco.

The website is moved to another company.

Before we jump into the music, and see which releases you can expect in this music podcast. First, let me apologize for the website being offline again for a few days. There is good news though! After months of issues with my hosting provider. I finally managed to move the website away from them. To another web hosting company, which seems to work much better now. After the move there a few positive small changes noticeable.

The first big change is the website speed. Which improved a lot after moving the website. The other nice change is the music player that you can find across the website and in all blog posts. Like for example in all podcasts. Which you can use to listen to the music podcast episodes. What changed? Well before, the shows were not loaded fully in the player, and therefore every show would stop playing after a few minutes. Also scrolling through the show episode, wasn’t possible because of that.

Just by moving the website to another hosting provider. That now seems to work like a charm. You can now listen to the complete show by staying on the specified page. And you can even rewind or skip certain parts by scrolling and pressing on the music player beam.

This week I made a selection of some older tracks which I used to go deep in the house. Some new recently released tracks and a few tracks that are going to be released very soon. Depending on when you listen and read this of course.

Harvey Sutherland.

I’m playing you a few tracks from the in 2017 released album from Harvey Sutherland. And it seemed that his album is very hard to find on the internet. In contrast to his EP’s and tracks. The Album Harvey Sutherland released in 2017 that holds his own name. Isn’t listed on the most common music portals such as Juno, Beatport, Traxsource, Deejay.de among others.

No instead of finding it there. I found it through a listing on Discogs, where a link was placed to a Japanese website that sells it. Use the link given here, to navigate to the website and order the unfortunately only available as CD album.

But for the tracks and EP’s by Harvey Sutherland, these are very easy to find across the web on multiple websites. With most of them being available as a 12″ vinyl as well.

Matthew Herbert.

The British producer Matthew Herbert has been producing and releasing music for a long time now. Recently he released and repressed a few of his very rare and hard to find vinyl EP’s on his own Accidental Jnr records label. In 1996 he released his EP’s Mathew Herbert, part one, part two, and part three on the Phono label. This series of vinyl was very rare at that time since only 500 copies have been pressed. Until last month, when he decided to repress those EP’s once again on vinyl.

Dusky

The in Londen based duo Dusky are back with a new EP. It has been a while since they released a new EP. Prior to the release of the new EP Aset Forever which will be available from the 14th of September. They already released the track Among The Gods, which is also included on the EP.

Maribou State – Kingdoms In Colour

Last but not least, in this episode where I’m going deep in the house. I’m also going to talk a little bit about the new recently released new album by Maribou State – Kingdoms In Colour. After their debut album portraits, they now are back with this great Album on the Counter Records label. The album contains 8 tracks with a few already being released prior to the album release. Creating a new episode is always a big pleasure for me. It gets even better when you reach out to me and i get to know my listeners a bit. So did the members of the San Francisco Disc Golf Club over the last weeks. It seems that they love to listen to DDR when they play a game of Disc Golf. That’s why we renamed their club to the Dirty Disc(o) Golf Club. They even dropped a Facebook post in their SFDGC Facebook group. Where they called for a few donations for DDR. How awesome is that?

What’s going on in this music podcast episode? A lot! First there is the new music that has been released over the last couple of weeks. Expect me to play you new music from the very new album by Lay-Far which came out on In-Beat-Ween Music and is called ‘War Is Over’. I will drop you two tracks from the new EP by Marquis Hawkes which surprisingly is titled ‘The Marquis Of Hawkes. I mentioned it in DDR episode 270. That Disclosure has been releasing 2 new tracks. Right after i published that podcast. They dropped another one, called: Where You Come From. Expect that to be played and mixed in my DJ set as well.

I invited our Belgian DJ friends: Spherephonic & Stephane Wilson to take care of this weeks guest-mix. Expect a funky and soulful vibe from these gentleman.

It has been a while but after three weeks of holiday i’m back in the studio to create a new radio-show episode for you. This week it’s time for Dirty Disco Radio 270 which contains a lot of dope new music.

Holiday is great! It always is, but then coming back home also is. Therefor coming back in the studio for me is a real treat. Once again i can share new music with you in my weekly radio show / podcast. I have been on holiday in Croatia where i have been in several places. I also have checked out the Island Pag where i stayed a week on a beautiful camp. I checked out the famous Zrcé Beach, which was cool to see, but most of the time i did absolutely nothing. Nothing but chilling at the beach, swimming in the sea, playing with my children and enjoying the surroundings and good food from Croatia. I posted just a few of the many pictures i made, just to give you an idea of where i have been.

Now i’m back in the studio to bring you another Dirty Disco Radio, full of dope new tracks.

Dirty Disco Radio 270.

Wow! I mean WOW! In my holiday i did not looked into new music and what’s new releases are out and forthcoming. When i came back in the studio and took a deep dive in my new music pond i kept pre selecting music. There were no limits, i kept selecting good music and dope tracks. Even after i figured i can’t play all tracks i kept listening to all those new releases out there and selecting them for this show. I kept in mind that i can always use them for other forthcoming shows and in my DJ sets as well.

At a certain point i just stopped selecting music. I had to much new releases in my folder, and already heard some great tracks that i wanted to share with you so after selecting 200+ track i stopped and worked on the second step in my music selection process. Which is making the DJ mix. Normally with less tracks this is done much more easily for me. But with 200+ tracks to choose from also Dj’ing gets a bit tricky. No worries i managed to make a what i think is a beautiful DJ mix for you in this episode. Remember to e-mail me for the DJ only mix, if you want it.

Ideas on sharing music.

The only frustration that i walk with when i find so much beautiful music and new releases in House Music and Electronic Dance Music. Is that i’m not able to share all of them with you in my podcast / radio-show. There is to less time to play all tracks for you. My show already is 2 hours long so adding an extra hour is not an option. And even then i still will not be able to play everything i find.

That is why i ask you for your ideas on sharing music. How would you like me to share music with you next to through the podcasts? For example, would you dig a members only section where you can download or listen to the tracks on my website? That’s a mouth full! Croatian Adriatic Beach House Music. Is that actually a thing? Well i don’t think so, but could it be a thing? Yes! From now it is. We can call Beach House Music just how we like to call it. Just as we all interpret things differently and all have our very own perspective on things. I just like to be clear on things and therefor i’m going to explain you all about this term in this post and new DJ podcast: Croatian Adriatic Beach House Music in Dirty Disco Radio 269.

That’s it. Since i will be leaving you for 3 weeks without a new Dirty Disco Radio episode. I needed to leave you with some proper Holiday vibes for the season. No matter if you are going, went or not going on a holiday. I’m here to give you those vibes. Since i will be heading for Croatia and i will be enjoying the beaches on the Adriatic sea. I called this episode: Croatian Adriatic Beach House Music. I know this all makes no sense at all, or just a little bit. But if you read my other posts and podcast announcements.

Than you have read that i want to name every episode differently. Than just Dirty Disco Radio #episodenumber. Then again, the title need to say something relevant about the radioshow. So therefor i chose this title as Croatian Adriatic Beach House Music. Tells you that i’m playing you beautiful Beach House Music grooves, and i will be enjoying those on the Adriatic Beaches this summer. I might just even visit The Ibiza of Croatia which is better known as Zrce Beach on the Island of Pag.

That’s right! This is a clear definition of what i do weekly in Dirty Disco Radio. Website problems.

If you have been listening recently, than you know that i’m dealing with some website problems. Because of this problems the website has been offline for the last 5 day’s prior to this episode. And it has been offline before because of the same problem. So what is the problem? I really don’t know. My provider shut down my website and tells me that it’s over using CPU power and i need to fix it because of that. Until than it stay’s offline. So i tell them i fixed it and then it goes back online. The problem is that it’s overusing CPU power of the server that my website hosts.

Now i can imagine that when a website has a lot of traffic and runs a lot of processes this can happen and you need to upgrade to a dedicated server or so. But in my case, it’s not all that. First we don’t have that amount of visitors. And the website is very simple, there aren’t many functions running. What i think is, that there is something wrong with the WordPress theme that i’m using. It’s not a very high quality theme and the support that i had was very bad. It’s not available anymore because they created such a bad theme. I bought it because it had al the elements a podcast theme needed and it looked great to fit with Dirty Disco Radio.

So for that matter, i’m looking to change really everything. The whole website and the branding of Dirty Disco Radio. To bring things to a next level we need to create a quality and stunning new website. Also the file hosting of all audio files (all the episodes) need to be better and cheaper as it cost’s me a lot of money and it’s not even optimized.

Holiday season has started for us in The Netherlands, slowly but steady the country is getting in it’s holiday-mode. And so am i. In a few weeks from now i will also enjoy my holiday and absolutely do nothing but good things. Until then you can tune in with me for a new episode every week. This week i named the show episode ‘Shakedown At Night’ Why i did that is going to be very clear to you in just a bit.

Shakedown At Night – Dirty Disco Radio 267.

Like i explained in the previous blog post in the show-notes for Dirty Disco Radio 266. Which is called ‘Now You Deep House Yourself’ I want to create a unique title for every single Dirty Disco podcast episode. The reason is to make it more unique en findable for certain keywords that are related to our weekly shows. Therefor i try to name it with something that relates to what we do and to the specific show.

In this case i titled the show Shakedown At Night which happens to be one of my most favorite House Music vocals of all times. And it also happens to be that there is a new remixes EP out on the Defected Records label. When you press play and start episode 267. You will notice the vocal as intro of the show. Somewhere in this episode, and i’m not going to tell you exactly where. Check the track-list if you really want to know. But somewhere i’m going to play the full new remixes EP on Shakedown – At Night.

Defected Records.

The Shakedown At Night Remixes EP contains three new remixes from Peggy Gou, Tiger & Woods, and the originators themselves created a new remix on their own track as well. The original was released in 2001 on on Naive Records. A year Later it came out on Defected Records with remixes, which i happen to have on Vinyl. I even have the Kid Creme Remix as well which came out later. The years after the release of the original Shakedown – At Night, many remixes came along and have been made by many different artists.

Peggy Gou took it to another level.

The things which these kind of vocals and classic tracks, is that they need to be honored. So when you remix a track like Shakedown At Night. You have to make damn sure that it’s going to be a very very dope remix. Otherwise you need to take the responsibility to not even release it if the magic is not happening. This time and once again with many thanks to Peggy Gou. A name which you might have heard many times before by now here in the show. Peggy Gou is currently doing a very great job as a female DJ and producer she is really something. Creating very dope tunes and already had some releases on big labels including Defected Records.

Peggy Gou remixed the track and turned it into a bit of a very dope acid house remix. Keeping the vocals and some other pars as they meant to be. And totally honored the track as it needed to be done. She did a very great job on this remix. And therefor our favorite one from the EP is Shakedown – At Night (Peggy Gou’s Acid Journey Remix).

But that’s not all. I don’t do it often, but i’m playing you all 3 new remixes from the EP in a row. Just because it deserves it and it happens to be one of my favorite House Classic Vocals of all time.

It’s another day in paradise. I just came back home at the official Dirty Disco studio from a busy but fun weekend. After being in Rotterdam & Belgium i’m back with you for a new music session where i curated a lot of new music in. So let’s get busy and Deep Disco House yourself with this new podcast episode of Dirty Disco Radio 266.

What’s up with the titles? Yes i know, it looks like i’m losing myself a bit here. But think of it, after doing 266 shows and every time just calling your show Dirty Disco Radio # with the additional number get’s boring am i right? And once you think of that, in the philosophy of online marketing i have been doing this totally wrong all the time. This is just one of the reasons why i want to build DDR up from the ground, maybe under a new name, maybe not. But still figuring out and finding time for that.

But to get back on the titles. Yes i figured i might as well just use more important keywords in my episode titles. So that you can better understand what vibe a specific episode brings, before you even hit the play button. This time it’s time to Deep Disco House Yourself. What do i mean with that? Nothing much, just go ahead, press play, enjoy the show and the music that i play and Deep Disco House yourself. Just do it! Get in harmony with the music, become one and enjoy the beauty of it. That’s all! Just approach it from your own perspective, this is the same way we listen to music, even though it is a universal language, everybody interprets music in a different way and has their own feelings and emotions.
