"Make way for a new powerhouse on the block. With creative brawn, brains, and balls, the guy's locked, loaded, and switched to full-auto, blazing away with his unique and original brand of modern horror, one of the few new writers, I'd say, who will help re-define the field for the future." Decent Story
I enjoyed this book despite the narrator being wishy washy. There was something about him though that held my attention. I liked the characters especially the homeless poet. While at times the story was predictable it was still enjoyable.
    Magna Cum Laude
Why haven't I heard of Nick Di Martino before? I've read plenty of horror novels in my time, and this one shoots right to the top of the class. Sure, the characters are stock, the dialogue is often corny and the supernatural plot devices Di Martino employs are as original as a plagiarised essay. But who cares? The story gripped me. I cared about the characters. Di Martino, whose backgound is in drama, know how to gradually feed the breadcrumbs of a plot to the reader, how to manage the interweaving destinies of a cast of characters like a choreographer directing dancers. The homeless poet who acts as a kind of chorus to the action is a particularly deft touch. If you like Stephen King-- at least, if you like King's lightness of touch, his love of the ordinary, and his ability to paint character with a few judicious brush-strokes-- then you'll like this book, too.

    Another Good One
If you like spooky, weird stories give this one a try. Not a scare your socks off kind of story but the kind that keeps you thinking.
    Not worth it!
Struggled to get through it. Doesn't hold your interest at all. Very slow and poorly written add story.
author should never have approved this narrator
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Glad I finished it. Interesting twist on what otherwise might be a predictable story line. But Heaven help me, that narrator was just flat out terrible. I don't know if he isn't a native speaker of English;was trying to mimicking regional US accents with which he is completely unfamiliar ; or if part of the narration was an experiment in electronic voice synthesizing. At first I thought it was a computer voice. Then the character's accents got weirder and more and more forced. They also morphed from character to character as book progressed. A character's accent at end wasn't same as when book started.
Also irritating was the narrator's pronunciation. Sometimes he would over enunciate words like "a" and "the" etc. when colloquial speech was called for. Other times, when such a manner of speaking might be appropriate, he would colloquialize words and phrases. Annoying and inappropriate.
This poor irritating narration prompted me to stop listening more than once. But the story called me back.
How could the performance have been better?
    Change narrators.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No! But only because of narrator.
    Any additional comments?
Liked the story and nice mix of characters. A bit of the dialogue seemed trite and forced but was an interesting "ghost" story.

    Language: English

    Publisher's Summary:
Nothing is quite as it seems.
Expect the unexpected in this veritable treasure trove of enthralling, witty, dark tales that could only come from the imagination of the greatest storyteller of our time.
In this eerie, enchanting compilation, Stephen King takes listeners down a road less travelled (for good reason) in the blockbuster audiobook Riding the Bullet. Terror becomes deja vu all over again when you get 'That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French'.
LT's Theory of Pets will make you stop and think before giving a dog to a loved one. And there are 11 more stories that will keep you awake until dawn.
    Critic Reviews:
"Stephen King is blessed with an apparently inexhaustible imagination and a talent for storytelling that shows little sign of waning. In his hands at least, the art is far from being lost." (Daily Mail)

    cracking.
listened to it one go. It was fantastic. I am utterly impressed thanks guys.
    amazing
    Buy it
I thought three of these stories were incredible, they were built up well and all had the twists you expect from SK. I personally found one a little boring but that's simply my opinion and had the unexpected twist. The little sisters I found an odd entry.
    Cracking
Simply an excellent set of stories, pulled off majestically. Strong characters and great stories which hook you untill the very end.
    Not the full collection
The title says it is unabridged. However this is not the full collection of stories from the book. Nowhere does it state this clearly. Enjoyed the programme but will be returning as it was not what I was expecting.
    Acceptable
Where does Everything's Eventual rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I will never be able to explain my love of Stephen King, but it runs deep. Adjusting for aforementioned bias, a solid 7.
Full Dark and Bazaar are better.
What did you like best about this story?
    Great pacing.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not too scary, but good fiction.
    Any additional comments?
If you're not a Gunslinger fan, one of the stories is in that universe and is thus tortuous to get through.

    Publisher's Summary:
"The Romance of Certain Old Clothes"
Which did she really want: her sister's husband, or her sister's trousseau? Will her desires cost her her life? In this story by the American master Henry James, a woman loses her heart to a man, but then loses that man to her sister. When her sister dies, she finally marries him, and her sister's trousseau comes to her as well - along with a spirit of jealous envy, even of the dead, that leads her to a terrible confrontation. The mastery of human psychology that marked all of Henry James' work plays out in this mystery of the human heart, a mystery that even goes beyond the grave.
    "Lost Hearts"
In this M. R. James story, three children learn that a classical scholar's love of the past has led him into a terrible and bloody delusion. His bloody fixation on hermetic lore, which seems to promise eternal life, leads two of them to their deaths, but not to the end of their existence. That does not come, if it comes at all, until the third child falls into the scholar's power.

    series!

Two Weak Entries by decent authors
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Really it just comes down to poor story selection. In the Henry James story, it's funny and clever, but the ghostly element doesn't come into play until the final few sentences. The M R James story "Lost Hearts" is possibly his most overrated work ever.
Has Voices of the Ghost III turned you off from other books in this genre?
Of course not! I love a good ghost story and will continue trying to find them. If anything, I feel cheated because the Henry James tale was barely a ghost story at all, more a mundane family drama with a little Boo notice tacked on the end.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
It's hard to tell, since I kept waiting for the supernatural of the first story to manifest.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Voices of the Ghost III?
A good eleven twelfths of the Henry James tale on offer.
    Any additional comments?
Lost Hearts is a pathetically transparent ghost story, with a blatantly obvious setup that all the characters are too dense to penetrate, and its resolution has nothing to do with the actions of the protagonist.
