Can Frances change his mind? Or is she in over her head?
    Critic Reviews:
"It is ultimately a very human, very humane, story about two people, neither of whom is precisely "normal," in society's understanding of human terms. It is sweet, it is charming, it possesses an innocence and an exuberance, as well as a sense of hopefulness that I found touching and uplifting." (Janet, Dear Author)

    Unique mermaid story.
I loved listening to this story. It's unique that it's set in the early 1900's and about young women setting out to fulfill her dreams. Once she got to where she needed to go, she found more than what she knew she would. She fell in love with a young man but he has a secret. His secret kept him from telling her how he felt about her. Little does she know that once they kissed it would change her life forever.

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review*
I love mermaid books so I was very excited to get the opportunity to review this book. Over Her Head is situation in the year 1905. It is a story about a young woman who was the only woman at Winthrop University studying history. She was completing her dissertation on merfolk but was having difficulties finding sources. Upon learning of a man in Maine that had an extensive library on merfolk, she takes off from Boston and shows up on his doorstep. Im not going to go into anymore details because I hate spoilers. But I will say that Francis and Garrett have an interesting set of interactions. There is also the lovely woman, Mrs. Cooper, that Francis boards at her homethat woman is definitely a piece of work!! In the end, things work out pretty much as I figured they would; but at least its a happy ending.
Overall, the story is decent but the narration on the audio version is not the best. I understand that it takes a lot to edit out background noises, but there were some places when the sound of the pages being turned was a bit annoying. The narrator also did not have much voice variation, and that did not help give voice to the story. But she spoke clear and concise. One thing that was very well done, was the descriptions of Garretts home. I could definitely picture it, and would love to see it! I give this book a rating of 3.5 STARS.
    Great Book!
    Any additional comments?
This is a great book written by Nora Fleischer. This is a quick short book that you can listen to while cleaning the house. Frances Schmidt is a historian and travels to Main to read Garrett Hathaways collection of books about mermen and mermaids. She is surprised when she meets Garrett that he is a very handsome man. The more time they spend together they realize that they are more than just friends.

Exciting period piece story well written by Miss Mae & delivered well by narrator Marcus Hyde. Enjoy the audio!
    Short and fun melodrama
Where does Miss Penelope's Letters rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Miss Penelope's Letter's is sitting up there with the audio books I have listened to more than once!!
What did you like best about this story?
The high drama and mystery played out well. I enjoy intrigue in stories and Miss Penelope's Letters had it in buckets! The melodrama was accentuated by the tone of voice and expression used by Marcus Hyde. His performance style certainly suited the story.
    Which scene was your favorite?
For being a short story it has plenty of great scenes to competing to be my favourite. However, the confrontation between Lord Wellington and Penelope on the moonlit terrace and the subsequent fight between Wellington and Soldier was a suspense filled scene.
I also enjoyed the scenes with Mrs Ashbury as I thought she was quite funny. She added lots of humour to the story.

    Delightful characters!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Western Groom: Penny Wise and Pound Foolish?
One of funniest (and tragic) scenes was when Buzzer and Moose attempted to rob the Trading Post.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Penny's heartfelt prayers were so sincere. The way Mr. Smith read her part made me feel her angst for all she was feeling.
    Any additional comments?
This story really brings home the fact that there are no coincidences in life. Everything that happens in our lives is God's way of making even insignificant things work together for His glory!

Not the typical one dimensional romance novel - great read.
Although you suspect the story to be predictable it has many twists and turns. For a romance book it is a very good one. Not the typical one dimensional story. Really enjoyed reading it. I cannot tell you more without giving the plot away :)

    What a wonderful story!! :-)
    Any additional comments?
This story had me riveted from the very beginning. It was read in such a way that made me hardly able to find out what happened next. And the way Mr. Smith read about Sally selling her produce and baking a cake, I was actually in my kitchen baking a cake while listening to the rest of the story! And reading about how much Sally enjoyed steak... that made me hungry too! But the best part of the story was how the characters put their trust in God for their lives - what a fine example to live by!

    Through all the storms...
A story that captures the essence of early Australian life, well done Parris. I thoroughly enjoyed the depth and breadth of the detail poured into this story. Sent from England for illegitimate reasons, Amber was determined to survive the depravities inflicted on her. In conditions we currently would struggle to comprehend the characters were driven forward to regain some semblance of a life. This struggle is depicted in great detail throughout the story. I have enjoyed this book enormously and look forward to reading more from Parris Afton Bonds.
    I loved it!
I can't believe I've never read this author. The type of epic storytelling that stays with you long after you stop reading. Not your typical formulaic romance that leaves a lot to be desired. I looking forward to more, including the next installment in this Dreamtime series.
    Outstanding
Really enjoyed this story. Could not stop reading. Outstanding writing. Loved the characters. A must read for anyone enjoying historical romance. A lesson on how Australia revolved and the hardships of the people who lived there during this era.
    Excellent
A good description of the struggles of AUstralia 's immigrant s and the hardships they endured. An interesting account of the people and their lives and loves, their disappointments and successes in this unfriendly environment. These were hardy people.
    Dream Time(book 1)
Wonderful accounting of prisoners occupation in Australia and how it became a bounty of resourceful sheep stations in the Outback. Clever plotting ,scheming and romance abounds.

    Entertaining
This had a nice story but the narrator threw in random accents ...not always the same one for each person and changing them in dialogue was distracting. Also the word choice was not always correct for the period-modern words such as "weird" sound out of place.
