Great book and performance

This book is a very fine example of fantasy story in tradition od Scott Lynch and Brent Weeks. Little bit of thievery, little bit of killing a lot of baddies, all wraped in wide-eyed outlook on life youths have. What is fantastic, though, is author's reading of it. I enjoyed every minute of narration. Great job!

This book read like a middle grade, but could not be with its content. I did not care for the story or the narrator. This one is not for me.

Evil from the Desert

WOW!! what a great book. Daniel Arenson has got to be one of my favorite authors, his style of story telling is unlike any other. A Day of Dragon Blood picks up a year later after the end of A Dawn of Dragon Fire, this story is dark and kind of twisted, General Mahrdar is seriously a demented character mabey more so than Solina. Elethor is becoming a true King and Mori has grown into a woman. I recommend this book and this series to all fantasy adventure fans, to all fans of Daniel Arenson and to anyone looking for a good book. Enjoy.

The middle of a trilogy means everything is bleak

As is typical with most trilogies, the middle book is where everything goes to pieces and almost all hope is lost. I would like to believe this series would be more creative, but at then end it is as expected. Although the characters are beginning to grow on me, at this point in my reading life this series is a bit too predictable. The good guys are pretty wonderful, the bad guys are awful, and there has been the deus ex machina in the first book to save the good guys tails. The second book had me wondering how Solina gets all the brutes to follow her, I mean really you just came up with another ridiculously large army in about 18 months. I think Arenson is a good writer in some ways and I probably really would have loved this at 13. I guess the real problem for me is that I have read a great deal of fantasy and I didn't realize this series was more in the young adult range. I think the idea if the Vir Requis is interesting and I do care how it ends, I just have a feeling I already know what basically will happen.

Repetitive.

This book has got to be the most repetitive story I have ever read. The book is good, don't get me wrong! The writing is amazing. I love the names. But damn, the dragons are the worst fighters ever. They have no strength whatsoever. All other creatures annihilate the dragons! The dragons can't kill any creature which is really annoying. It sucks to read a book where the dragons can't do anything besides breath fire (even then, they get tired and have to charge their fire). I would rate thing book at one star if the writing wasn't so good. The storyline is insanely repetitive too. They fight, get destroyed, come back and rebuild.

Loved the narrator!

The narrator made this book so exciting!! I liked the guy who narrated the first two books also, but this guy was even better! I found myself, laughing and crying! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Another fantastic story!

The series is fun and action packed, you just want to listen to more great characters and experience swashbuckling at it's best!

this one by far was the best out of all three from the pirate Saga. there's a new performer he does a great job making the characters come alive

Ending is Better

The ending was much better than the in betweens. Wish there were less volumes so the story line could have a continuous flow. If you purchase because you like audible books, you will end up paying more than the entire series is worth.

Wonderful story

I really enjoyed this series, and look forward to listening to anything that this author writes! Well narrated and written, reminds me of playing Skyrim, Elder Scrolls!

Enjoyed thoroughly although they are very short.

I have been trying to read more fantasy books something that is unusual for me. I really enjoyed these but thought they were short and the series could have been compressed into one novel. Also a lot of repeat information i suppose it is so people who do not start at book one can catch up on what they missed. Fast reads

Very dark & enjoyable fantasy

What did you love best about The Price of Faith?

The author kept it on pace with the previous two books, threw in some twists, and brought the different story threads together to brilliant conclusion.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I picked someone else to answer this same question for a previous book; this time it's Jacob. The main characters certainly had paid a Price of Faith," but the very powerful Templar Jacob also had his price, albeit different. Great book title, and really makes one question why we sacrifice for something we believe in, especially when it may not be "right"

Which scene was your favorite?

Jacob's fight scene near the end of the book. The viewpoints of the battle from the other characters were hellish, terrible, and fantastic to envision, making me immediately worry how any of the good guys would survive...then we switch to Jacob, dancing in the ballroom, calm happy, and serene...

Confused? Read the books! It's a brilliant twist by the author, giving us a powerful, mad, unstoppable force created by a council of "Inquisitors"...I can't say more, but I loved it.

Any additional comments?

Rob Hayes' three book series was awesome! I can't give it enough praise. I've spent most of 2017 looking for something off the beaten path of normal fantasy - I'm a bit tired of the coming of age and cookie cutter / copy-cat Lord of the Rings type books.

I searched for 2 things: a dark world with evil beings, magic, and characters who weren't purely good as the protagonists, and second, since this is audible, I wanted a top-notch narrator. I found a few books would fit one or another, but this series fit both for me, and the author, with stellar narration by Gerard Doyle, created a world and characters that I will miss hearing about on my drives to and from work. If an author makes me miss his characters when it's over, that's 5 stars.

What did you like best about this story?

Good drama and heroes. Excellent story, and finally a feelgood grimdark fantasy, if there is such a thing. I am tired of partially despising the characters in some of the contemporary grimdark works out there. Rob Hayes gets it right in these books.

Which character as performed by Gerard Doyle was your favorite?

Darkheart is a character I will follow whenever Rob Hayes wishes cast him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Who has the time? But I was often thinking about the the characters. There is still much backstory left untold.

Any additional comments?

Imagine a Jorg Ancrath with integrity and loyalties, and Bloody Nine with self control and some sense of honor -- you will find them in these books.

You need this book!

An enormous weight lifts off my shoulders when I finish a series, but this time I want it to stay with me a little longer. We learn so much and Amelia and the gang come so far, it almost doesn't seem fair for it to end. But this ending is more than I could have asked for. When you get chills from listening, you know it's good. Grade a fantasy fiction if there ever was any!

Absolutely. The story is great and the audio work is wonderful!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I have enjoyed all the characters. Each has their own strong personality that is brought to life through audio here. I can't pick just one. Amelia, Aidan, Bethany, Micah, and Cole. Those are just the main characters. Even the secondary ones are fun.

What about Kristin Jamess performance did you like?

Kristin is always a treat for me to listen to. Her favorite voice for me, Bethany and her sweet southern accent. And oh, the strong personality for Bethany that pops with the accent. lol. And Micah's accent. I love it! This is a great cast that Kristin makes fun to listen to and easy to differentiate the characters as they speak. The different characters personalities and attitudes ever present in their voices. Male and females are all different in accent, tone, and feels as we listen. Oh! When two sing a song, we get both voices! The harmony of the two together. I love when we get these little extras that makes the story feel more alive with the characters.

Any additional comments?

Not only do we journey through the prophecy of what's to come of Amelia and Aidan, but we also get to the root of Amelia's Keeper power mystery. Amelia has grown! I was worried going in that the book would fall flat for getting us through Amelia's Keeper powers. Yet we get something a little different other than her finding a way to work with what she has. I enjoyed this. She's come into her own with help from someone we didn't expect. She finally faces the magic and love that she's been scared of for so long. We even end with a fight that's not as deadly as it could have been. It moves quick and keeps us listening yet with Amelia and Aidan in the place they are now, it doesn't need to be bloody. It's more than that.

I really liked this ending!

A wonderful YA read of letting yourself love and accept who you are. Even when in battles, it doesn't always have to end ugly. There are options and choices in life that you get to pick from even if it doesn't seem that way.

Great story. A very interesting twist in the Aggar series but not as good as shadows and fire of Aggar Chris Ann Wolfe never disappoints. A wonderful talent lost to early.

Great Book!!

This is a great series, made even better through audible! The plot is fascinating and keeps you engaged the whole way thru. I can not wait until the last book is released!!

Modern magic realism concurrent with modern tek

Interesting permits from Audible, magically realised stories for a time of modernity, nothing for them to do but grow with the program.Ancient history suffers as it is sadly believed to be more advanced technologically than all other areas, knowledge base is quite vast, however, machines DUI not feel our comprehend, once they do, sadly they ate bit humané.

Be patient

I so enjoyed the first two novels I was afraid that this tale of Aggar wouldn't be as good. I love the millennial approach to telling the story of Aggar even when it means saying goodbye to those I have come to adore.

The vocal performance is perfect too.

Still Cant Stop

listening.. I. really liking this series.. I am sad that the.fourth book is still not here

What was that?

Why was that book so long? Why do we have to learn so much about ever single freaking move of all these different martial arts? Seriously, she would go off about 2 step ,3 step ,basket weave blah blah blah. No idea what was happening. Every action scene I got lost. And I'm not dumb or unable to follow. It was just so badly written and self indulgent. Every step, like it was some kind of learning manual.

The narrator. I don't remember having any problems with her in the first two books, but this was pretty bad. She did the main characters well, but everyone else sounded like idiots. Literally. Like they were dumb. It was weird. Her accents were crap, all of them. Irish, Scottish, and a couple others were just grating. Then the climactic parts. Ummm, what the hell? She sounded like an over dramatic friend retelling a story while trying to be quiet. Dakota would be screaming and the narrator would do a weird over exaggerated whisper scream. I have an hour left of the book but had to turn it off. I don't even care what happens. I can't follow it.

I don't know what happened. I enjoyed the first two books, and this had some good parts. Overall, I don't think it's worth the time it takes to get through it or the frustration.

Yep, this is a series. I had to find out who was going to kill Snow White. Her stepmom, the evil queen, her hunter, or the boy next door.

What a different take on this classic. Snow White becomes a vampire and she is crushing the guys. Can her neighbor who loves her like a daughter save her? Can she save herself.

Blood & Snow Complete boxed set 1-12

This kept me up for days on end just could not put it down. It was so well written all I wanted was more. I could not stop. reading untill I was through with the last book and wanting more. I can't wait for more of Rashelle Workman's. Newest Works to be released so I can fall back in her special way of getting you hooked on her books it is like you are there and you are part of the book or it's sequel A very best must read I will miss her until she has some new books to read as I am out of titles to read for now. I have read all of Rashelles works as of today and all I want is more.

FairyTale retellings <3

This second installment of Blood and Snow was again written beautifully. I really enjoyed Kenmei and Pops history lessons about the Queen and revenants, among a few other things they talked about. I t was nice getting more of a backstory on whats to be/come of this series. Also Pops museum of all things supernatural was so cool, cant wait till they get into the books about each creature to see how Mrs. Workman plans on creating her own version of them.

Q: Is the theme that all "Snow White's be destined to be seeked and choosen to become the Queens new body?

It was sad to hear also that most hunters end up falling in love with those they've choosen (bitten)...Makes for loving them suck since they really wont be themselves once/if the Queen chooses them.

Cliff Hanger ! Thanks goodness I have the others or I would've been in a bit of a funk after the ending in this one.
