Dublin's Secret Street Tours

Weather you are a tourist or from the city yourself this tour is definitely one that you should experience.

Yesterday Baz caught up with Shane Howell one of the tour guides  from Dublin's Secret Street Tours.

Earlier this year the first tour was done by founder Derek McGuire and since then has also become known as the Dublin Homeless Walking Tours.

Shane got involved after he saw a picture of Derek in the paper, and now he does his own tours around the city as part of Secret Street Tours Dublin.

After becoming homeless in 2011 Shane spent time living in hostels and sleeping rough, which as a results allows him to show Dublin in an entirely different way to how most would see it.

As part of Shane's tour he tells his own story as well as some local history about the areas that you visit.

The tour starts outside the national museum at Collins Baracks and visits various hostels, street art sites and at the side of the Capuchin Day Centre alongside historical sites more typical of a Dublin walking tour.
