Great Follow-Up to Write Publish Repeat

I enjoyed this audiobook, but I enjoy all of Sean and Johnny's audiobooks. This one is a true sequel to Write Publish Repeat, though I think that was its biggest disadvantage. If you followed the guys' Kickstarter campaign, this will be a lot of fun to listen to because it recaps everything they did for their campaign.

Simon Whistler did a fantastic job as always and his narration was a blast to listen to.

If you're a true fan of Sean and Johnny, I totally recommend this one. There's nothing new here per se if you already follow them, and it's not as fantastic as WPR was, but it still a good listen/read nonetheless.

Interesting and somewhat Enlightening

It is interesting to here about the book that was written and things they had to overcome. But what came through for me was the plod. Plod through your book. Start it and finish it with tons of imperfection because that is how you finish a book. I tend to edit as I write and I think I will fore go any editing until I am done. There is a lot more that I learned as well but that was my big take away.

Fantastic Writing Concert

I was a participant in Platt and Truant's initial 'Fiction Unboxed' project last year, so I kind of knew what to expect from this audiobook. Still, the book held my interest, entertained and informed me.

FU was an ambitious undertaking: two novelists writing a complete novel, from 'no idea' to 'finished product', in thirty days, with the whole world (or at least a thousand Kickstarter backers) watching. The book does a great job of summarizing the process through its own narrative (with Platt and Truant as the harried protagonists). Most importantly for me as an author, though, it distills the lessons they learned through the project. This is invaluable information for anyone who wants to write for a living.

A sweet introduction to a story yet to come.

It's a short story told through a girl's journal entries after coming to a town and meeting her new best friend. In addition to facing high school drama, they start investigating the supernatural history around them.

It's nothing too complex, but it's intriguing enough to have me interested in seeing what the related video game will be like. I'm expecting a solid haunted house experience.

The performance was really nice; Stephanie does great voices and it was fun to listen to her character. I recommend listening to Til Morning's Light if you're in the mood for something short, light-hearted, and a little bit spooky.

Unique marketing strategy!

An audio dram prelude to a video game! Amazing marketing strategy. I enjoyed the listen and immediately became Intrigued by the game that follows it. Great idea. Wish more games did stuff like this.

I was under the impression that this would be a kin to Goose bumps, but they never really got to the twist. Basically as the story is getting interesting, the book ends and the game begins.

Would not waste your money

Was expecting a focus on contemporary art what it is and what it isn't; in a little bit of the history behind it but way too much of this book is simply on the historicity and politics of selling artwork, how today's politics have affected these poor artist, etc. etc. very disappointed because most of these Oxford sure histories are pretty good this one is not one of them.

Marxist critique of the power elites not much art.

What did you like best about Contemporary Art? What did you like least?

Not much on the vast range of emerging new and original ways and means that contemporary art encompasses, unless it fits the authors speciality- wherein he focuses on 'injustice' which is what the author was no doubt taught to do in the leftist halls of the institutions where he got the gig.... Hardcore Leftist 'visionaries' believe that man needs bread alone, never mind the wine...ie the spirit. Which means that Julian isn't going to discuss what to my mind are the most relevant and hopeful artists. On the other hand, his critique of the worst art and the corrupt institutions that support it, is pretty on the money and if you too are interested in justice and unfairness and want to be able to blame someone other than the artists for buying into the decadent, irresponsible materialist/theory crap this is for you.

What was most disappointing about Julian Stallabrasss story?

This tendentious Marxist view focuses on art makings context (it was fashionable for a while especially in the eighties in art schools/universities and did wonders to curb any individuality in the ambitious students) and a way of getting away from the idea of an original individual 'genius'.
