Great book, not a fan of the narrator.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did tear up toward the end.
    Any additional comments?
Cassandra captured the character of Lucy VERY VERY well. For some reason, I just felt like the character Jude shouldn't have been portrayed as monotone and unenthusiastic. Even though he lived a life of hardship, doesn't mean he's emotionless. Where was the passion in his voice for Lucy?
Jude! He has just reached Kellan status!
OMG! Jude has just reached ultimate Bad boy ( Kellan from Thoughtless series, and Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster) stauts! He is soooo going into the Bad Boy POT! WOW!... I so loved him then hated him then loved him... OMG!
I just wanted to yank that dang beanie right off his head soooo bad!!!! Lucy was such a great character as well... I loved this book... Even though there was not a lick of smex in it... It reminded me of Thoughtless... which is soooo hard to dooo... but Lucy was actually a better character that Keria I think. Lucy was way way stronger. I love the whole ballerina thing...
I can't hardly wait to listen to book 2!
    Buy and Credit.... Yes Yes..
    Narration was AWESOME!
    cute story
I couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars. I liked the story line and the twists and turns but it just kind of dragged on for me.
    Oh, Lucy & Jude
This is a great story... in line with Thoughtless or Beautiful Disaster. A well developed new adult series (this book is more YA but as a series, it's NA) with tension, love and the requisite personal growth of the genre. It really was the very best story, imperfections and all.

    Interesting Second Book
    Any additional comments?
I thought Until I Die was just as interesting as the first book in the series. One thing I really liked about it in comparison to other second in the series books is that there was no giant drama/fight between the couple who fell in love in the first book.
I enjoyed learning more about the history of the Revenants and am definitely excited to read the next books. During the first book, I just really liked the whole idea of the Revenant but didn't really care for any of the characters all that much. I'm still feeling that way to a certain extent. I'm not super wrapped up in the romance between Vincent and Kate which is a bit of a let down. I am much more interested in the world/story that Amy Plum has created. The character I find my self most interested in is Jules. I'm hoping to find the relationships and people more interesting in the next books.
I fell in love with the characters
There are a lot of books out there like this series and some might even be better written. But i just loved these characters. I can't say that about some of the other popular YA books.
These characters are enjoyable, they like each other, they are good to each other and i just really liked them.
Usually sisters in these books don't like each other and adults are made to seem like the enemy. But in this series there is genuine love, and I found that refreshing.
The world of revenants is fascinating. This series is a good listen! And the narrator does a fabulous job.
    Wow
Well, I didn't see the ending coming. There was plenty of action and quite a bit more information of exactly what the rules of the revenant are. I enjoyed the extra information and still find the idea of revenant very interesting. The new characters of Violette and Arthur are an interesting addition but I missed more of Charlotte. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I thought Julia Whelan did a good job narrating and pronouncing the french names.
I'm left hanging and dying to know what happens...
What did you love best about Until I Die?
Amy Plum's books are filled vivid imagery of wonderful scenery and deep characters that you get attached to. I waited and waited for book 2 to be released as an audio book. Yes it's a love story, but it's no twilight. This is a wonderful journey into a world of other beings, never seen before. No Vampires and Werewolves here.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters. They are not a copy of anything I've read/listened to before.

    Good Book Poor Narrator
Would you try another book from Lisa Mangum and/or Lisa Mangum?
    Any additional comments?
A well written story but predictable. I would highly recommend purchasing the book instead of the audiobook. The narrator is absolutely dreadful and lacks the talent to do the book justice.
Suspend disbelief in the time travel mechanism used here and the story becomes more enjoyable.
The basis of the time travel door invention was too hard to swallow but by suspending disbelief, the other fantasy components make it easy to follow along and like the story.
    Narration and writing was good.
    great book
I really loved this book. The author made a good reader for her book,
    A welcome surprise!
This was a wonderfull introduction in spacetime, extra dimentions, anthropocentric principle, art and love, in fundamental questions of philosophy about human existence. I would preferred it if the characters were older. Fortunately they are not annoying as most of literature characters of their age are. I feel lucky that I discover this now that all three books are out. I am rushing to next full of excitement.

Zos power is greater than Abby ever imagined. Will her love for Dante be enough to turn the tide? This award-winning YA love story is the second in a trilogy.

    Great sequel!
In The Golden Spiral, book two of the Hourglass Door trilogy, Abby's life has made a 180 degree turn. Her boyfriend, Dante, has disappeared through a time portal, stuck in a between place that's impossible to reach without the hourglass door. But the door has been destroyed, and Abby has only a small amount of time to create new one.
Problem is, the reality around her continues to change as Zo manipulates time, drastically altering Abby's life. First it's her friend, Justin, then her college scholarship. When her family is affected, Abby will take any risk to undo Zo's destruction. Her friend, Valerie is the only one with answers, but she is under strict surveillance at a mental hospital.
As the second installment of this YA series, The Golden Spiral continues the fascinating and highly creative story of time travel. Mangum's writing style is fresh, with a strong literary voice, and will draw readers into the psyche of the various characters and their struggles to understand who they can trust and who still holds dark secrets. Intriguing and suspenseful, The Golden Spiral is an engaging sequel, which will both please readers and leave them anxious for volume three, The Forgotten Locket.
    Amazing, better than Twilight
I love this new series. Good looking "exchange" student full of mystery, girl trying to be herself, and they fall in love. Timeless love story with fantasy elements and no vampires or werewolves. True friendship tested. It ended in a way, that although and can't wait to read the next one, I can wait and not go crazy. These have become my favorite of all time books to this point and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
    Wonderful Triology!
This is the second book in Lisa Magnum's amazing Hourglass Door trilogy and I have to say I absolutely loved it.

Every Teenage Girl Dreams Come True
4.5 stars for the Book and 5 stars for the Narration.
This plot is every teenage girl dreams come true! Who didnt dream about dating a superstar back in the time? I know I did, and the circumstances of their encounter are the perfect meet cute, and totally in synch with todays technological and social media dependant world. Plus, I cant help to gush over Grahams absolutely romantic grand gesture. I would die if a movie was set in a particular place just so the star could be near me!
It was great that the story wasnt only focused on the romance part, but it also has an intricate subplot that I wasnt expecting. It captured marvellously the hell celebrities and public people go through with paparazzi, its just awful.
The only downside to the plot is that once all the elements are put into play, its development is too predictable. Its so easy to see whats coming next, but it is still oh so enjoyable to attest.
I loved that the author was focused on showing a different face to fame, and that it portrayed accurately how lonely and hard a celebritys life could sometimes be. Im not a Britney Spears fan, but it sort of reminded me of her song Lucky.
That being said, what stands out the most with these characters are their relationships. How they are intimate but fragile. How they arent perfect. But my absolute favourite character was Ellie. She was so responsible, but it was easy to the teenage in her. It was just so simple to relate to her. I was rooting for her all along.
Whenever we get two narrators the gender role problem disappears. We have a clearly identifiable voice for each character. Nevertheless, they did have to play the other characters voice, even if it was for a brief a moment, at times; and both, Andrew Sweeney and Marcie Millard, did a great voice. I barely noticed it wasnt the same voice because I was deeply involved with the story and their representation was good. It wasnt the same of course, and at moments it was a bit weird that the voices changed a bit, thats the downside of having two narrators. But they still made it work. I have to praise them both, because I felt they truly captured the essence of their characters, they sounded like two teenagers. They made the story come alive, and it was beautiful.
The audio made the story more enjoyable
This is What Happy Looks Like is very sweet and has all the ingredients of a romantic comedy.

    Enjoyed it
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
    Yes
What was one of the most memorable moments of While It Lasts?
The story development was good - even though the eventual out come was predictable it didn't make the listen any less enjoyable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    No
    could not put out down.
keep up the great work. this series is spectacular and can't wait to keep going and on to the next one.
    Cage York is amazing!
I absolutely loved this on audio. You felt the true love from Cage when he fell for Eva. Their love story is EPIC
    Excellent!
It was great to see that Cage finally got some happiness. He was always there for Lo, so now he has someone for himself
    Just ok
    Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was from the epilogue where Eva is writing Josh a goodbye letter. It brought me to tears!
    Any additional comments?
Overall, this was just an ok listen. I felt Cage was portrayed differently than he was in Because of Low. He seemed to be closer and more caring towards Low in that book than he was with Eva. Once again, Kirby Heyborne did a fabulous job conveying the characters feelings. I adore his voice and Southern accent.

    Members Reviews:
    Good narrative, great story
What about Kevin T. Collinss performance did you like?
His voice was very clear and expressive, he was able to put on various accents for different characters that made the story flow better and his reading sound more authentic
    Any additional comments?
The occasional sound effects were a great addition, but (from the perspective of a performing musician) the music was terrible. It was often out of time, repeititive or just cringeworthy. It's a very small complaint, but nonetheless annoying to hear the same poorly played song repeated for the millionth time.
a beautiful story, I can wait to read the others
The sounds! Only I can tell that, the sounds, so beautiful. Listen with headphones and you live the action within
    Not sure
This book was missing something I just wanted more to happen in it. But I might get the second one and see how it will go from there
    true love
Where does Beautiful Creatures rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
this audio book was so enchanting and 100 times better than the movie. this teen love story was full of twists and turns......carnt wait to listen to beautiful darkness. it is downloading now. i am addicted to this series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beautiful Creatures?
when ethan could break thru their binding at the house. true love was stronger.
What does Kevin T. Collins bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
he brought the story to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    yes.
An identity crisis of a book, with audio-problems
This book has an identity crisis. It doesn't know if it wants to be:
    - a love story (a la Twilight) between a boy and a girl who's unpopular and different in some way;
    - or a coming of age story of a boy learning to stand up to the different pressures and expectations of his parents, his mammy-style housekeeper, his friends, assorted bullies and the small-town mentality;
    - or, a boy trying to understand the mysteries of his family - his mother's work, his father's reclusiveness, his housekeeper's superstitions;
    - or, a guide to the dark arts in the deep South;
    - or, a girl's coming-of-age story, her tale of grappling with issues of identity and abandonment, acceptance of her true nature, being different, bullied, etc.;
    - or, the story of fantastical clan and their family issues, their powers, etc.;
    - or, the story of an historical couple and their tragic love (though the reader gets dumped into their climax without getting to know and care for them).
So the authorS (part of the problem?), just throw it all together.

Maggie Silver has never minded her unusual life. Cracking safes for the worlds premier spy organization and traveling the world with her insanely cool parents definitely beat high school and the accompanying cliques, bad lunches, and frustratingly simple locker combinations. (If its three digits, why bother locking it at all?)
But when Maggie and her parents are sent to New York City for her first solo assignment, her world is transformed. Suddenly, shes attending a private school with hundreds of "mean girl" wannabes, trying to avoid the temptation to hack the schools elementary security system, and working to befriend the aggravatingly cute son of a potential national security threat...all while trying not to blow her cover.
From the hilarious and poignant author of Audrey, Wait! comes a fast-paced caper that proves that even the worlds greatest spies dont have a mission plan for love.

    Fun YA Listen
The first chapter didn't impress me much but the second chapter was better and the story kept getting better from there so I'm glad I stuck with it. It's full of humor, light adventure and enough teen problems to be realistic for the characters without being annoying to me as an adult. I soon found myself looking for reasons to keep listening rather than doing something else. I wasn't paying attention so was surprised to find at the end that it was read by the author. While not my favorite narrator she did a good job with bringing life to the story and giving each character their own personality. Her one shortcoming was that there was no real difference in the sound of the voices, so you needed to pay attention in some places to keep up with who was talking at any given time. Overall a very entertaining listen.
If you have read any of Ally Carter's books...
... you will absolutely love this book. Another young girls spy book, and she is spending her time in the field. Benway crafts a great plot and causes you to fall in love with all of these characters. You see a great forbidden love story and a wonderful friendship. Sadly in some spots it was difficult to follow dialogue between characters. Overall, great story.
    Not to bad
It wasn't bad it's not for kids under 10-11 tho the story line gets a little off at points but overall I liked it
    AKA Adorable Fluff
What did you like best about Also Known As? What did you like least?
The characters are great, and definitely where Robin Benway shines as an author. Everyones got a whole lot of personality, especially Roux, who might have been my personal favorite. Jesse Oliver is great too. While I do like Maggie, I think I would like her slightly more if she had truly loved Roux more than she seems to do. Also, Maggies parents are loving and involved in her life, so three cheers for that.
On the other hand, I had some suspension of disbelief issues with the young girl being a spy thing, but Im willing to set those aside for fun times.
What three words best describe Robin Benways performance?
I really appreciate the ease this question system gives to reviewing, but I don't know what to do with this prompt, tbh. Here are my thoughts on the narration: Robin Benway does a pretty good job. Shes not the best narrator ever by any means, but I still think its cool that she read her own book. Plus, her true affection for the characters really does shine through.

Hot romance is the cure for heartbreak in this sequel to The Vincent Boys.
Getting a boy to fall head-over-heels in love with you isnt easy. Especially when hes been in love with your cousin for as long as you can remember.
Lana has lived her life in her cousins shadow. Ashton always made perfect grades, had tons of friends, and looks model perfect. And shes always had Sawyer Vincent - the only boy Lanas ever wanted - wrapped around her finger. But now things are different. Lana has a chance to make Sawyer see her, and shes taking it. If only hed get over Ashton - because Lana is sick of second-best.
Sawyers heart is broken. Hes lost his best girl to his best friend. And then Lana comes to town. Ashtons cousin has always been sweet and soft-spoken, but now shes drop-dead gorgeous as well. Sawyer doesnt know if Lana can heal his broken heart, but spending time with her might at least make Ashton jealous.
What starts as a carefree fling becomes a lusty game of seduction. Sawyer and Lana may have different motives, but their scintillating hookups are the same kind of steamy....
Sawyer and Lanas romance just got steamier in this companion to the original that includes scandalous, heart-pounding scenes.

    I just don't know
Writing this review for both Vincent Boy novels.
I didn't hate this book, I kinda liked it, and its very hot...but it makes me feel dirty and not in the good way
This is more erotic romance than mature YA romance. I like both genres but am unsettled by the two mixing. First love and vague details of their sweet pairing is great, but this was Teen Smut, like "Barely-legal" porn...I'm not wholly OK with that.
I myself was a sexually active teen, and teens being sexually active is not going to change, but that doesn't make it a good thing and this feels like encouragement! For a teenage girl, with little sexual experience, picking up the Vincent Boys novels could amp up her imagination to the point of thinking about little else. Its hard enough to get their hormones in check long enough to go do something productive and stories like this will kill the efforts.
Then if these novels are not marketed for teens then I feel a little like a pedophile, which is worse!
Make the decision for yourself. I'm not really trying to discourage the purchase of these novels, but I felt the need to share my feelings as a sort of warning incase someone possesses the same views.
    Good and angsty
Nothing like some Abbi Gline angst. But it's hard to read two in a row. Which I did on this reread.
    Great narration.
    well done
don't disappoint as usual. loved every minute of it. love the plot and can't wait for future books. poor Ethan.
    Amazing Story
First of all the narrators are amazing and I could listen to every audiobook they have done. I loved the Vincent Brothers and Vincent Boys books. I have to say while everyone is a Beau fan, I am going to go with I am a Sawyer fan and so glad him and Lana ended up together. The feelings you feel during this series is just amazing and you root for the guys and girls and then you are like what the HE double hockey sticks did they do that for. Great writing by Abbi and I definitely wouldn't mind more of this series. Maybe some babies?
    Loved it
Seriously, I don't know what else to say about Abbi's books anymore.

Astrid Jones desperately wants to confide in someone, but her mother's pushiness and her father's lack of interest tell her they're the last people she can trust. Instead, Astrid spends hours lying on the backyard picnic table watching airplanes fly overhead. She doesn't know the passengers inside, but they're the only people who won't judge her when she asks them her most personal questions...like what it means that she's falling in love with a girl.
As her secret relationship becomes more intense and her friends demand answers, Astrid has nowhere left to turn. She can't share the truth with anyone except the people at 30,000 feet, and they don't even realize she's there. But little does Astrid know just how much even the tiniest connection will affect these strangers' lives - and her own - for the better.

What did you love best about Ask the Passengers?
A.S. King has an amazing ability of creating characters of depth and complexity that we can understand and empathize with while placing them in heart rendering situations that are soul deep. She has done her finest work with ASK THE PASSENGERS by showcasing a teenaged girl named Astrid Jones, a girl that is trying cope with the fact that her family is totally dysfunctional, that she might be gay and why she has to keep sending love to all the passengers on the planes that fly overhead.
What other book might you compare Ask the Passengers to and why?
EVERYBODY SEES THE ANTS because it is another well written novel by the same author
    Which scene was your favorite?
    When Astrid finally looses it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, once I started I did not want to stop.
    Any additional comments?
The reader for this novel did a fine job of conveying all the emotions that were conveyed in the book. She also sounded like a teen and not an older person trying too hard to sound like one. It was well done and I truly enjoyed this audiobook.
    Huge Letdown
I was so psyched when I found this book; an adolescent bisexual girl who was hiding the gay part of her life, and perhaps the gay portion of herself, from herself, as well. I hyped the book to my cadre and sold it as a group listening experience, and then I began listening. It was so seriously disappointing that it embarrassed me. I'm busy with my classes and I don't usually have the time to listen to a full length audio and I made this an exception much to my own embarrassment. This audio moved at a snail's pace with a superfluity of repetition; I mean how many Saturday's did Astrid and Dee have the same argument. Basically it felt to me like Astrid spent the entire first half of the book in her own head going back and forth like a full on female Hamlet. As a young gay woman I can't bring myself to give this book one star but neither can I recommend it.
Book handles the topic of teen sexual and consent in a thoughtful, mature way
Astrid Jones is confused. She's questioning. She doesn't have all the answers. And that's OK, or, it would be if it weren't for the all people in her life that push for answers in absolutes. Astrid Jones is full of love.
