Great narrator, good story, 3rd book please
The narrator does excellent accents, she also does male voices just as well as female and young as well as older quite believable. This really helps the story, there is nothing like a male narrator trying to do female character too high pitched or a too aged narrator trying to sound like a 17 yr old girl to put you off an audiobook! Five stars all the way for her Irish, English and all accents as well as sounding like a teen girl and a masculine 18 year old boy! Amazing.
That said, I really did like the storyline of this series which involves the four elements of Water, Earth, Air and Fire and the marked ones, four teens, that carrier the individual elements and are suppose to ultimately allign them all into harmony. That was the goal from the first book. The angst of the first book was that Megan discovered she was the embodiment of the Air element but her love, Adam was the Water element and all historical accounts indicate that two marked carriers could not be together romantically without bringing about horrible consequences. Sigh. They vowed to be together anyway...Little did they know things would only get worse.
Mild spoilers but personally I like to know what I'm getting into with these trilogies Wish someone told me about two books after Shiver, but that is another story. Anyway, In this sequel, the author was able to change and heighten the angst for the teen couple so that now they could not even actually touch without freaky consequences, Adam getting his power sucked out of him by Megan. Yikes. This is occuring while these lovebirds are also having to witness Adam's brother's easy sexual relationship with the new girl dangled in front of them. I must admit I really liked Megan and Adam in book 1 so this was heartbreaking and frustrating.
Freaker still is the fact that Megan's elemental power is causing these problems with Adam as well as strange attractions also to his two siblings that are the carriers of the other elements of Fire and Earth. I was glad this was just a weird product of her power and not an actual love triangle. Along the way we get introduced to more about the Order keeping the history of the Marked and the Knights of the Marked. There is a lot going on here and a lot of history.
It is very interesting but I felt a lot was crammed in the last half and the ending was a bit confusing. There was a lot of, what just happened? Did they just do it or not? Did the fifth element just come and pass her by, so nothing changed or did it? What the what? Really, the whole last 3 hours were rushed. I felt, Megan seemed way too calm about her situation, her being banned from the other marked ones. It was just a sad confusing ending.

My favorite out of the series
Would you listen to Goddess Interrupted again? Why?
Yes. I love the voice actress, her voice fits the character perfectly.
Who was your favorite character and why?
    This is a hard one.
What does Brittany Pressley bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She brings realism. I really believe this character and the story is almost real when hearing her say it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    Just overall joy.
This main character is a total flop.
The main character of this book is a whiney self conscious loser. I kind of liked her after the first book, but after listening to this chick whine for 8 hours.. And listen to her beg Henry to love her after what he did, it made me sick. Seriously, get mad. Stand up for yourself. Jesus.
    A Fun Addition
If you could sum up Goddess Interrupted in three words, what would they be?
Following the first and "Second" (the 1.5 book) I devoured this audio book as well. I think I listened to the entire series in less than a week, and this book in about a day, maybe a day and a half, since I was listening to it all of the time. I was so enthralled with Kate's story and the mythology behind it that I just had to keep listening and see where it went, and this book provided the fun interaction between Kate and Persephone.
Consider Yourself Warned: Kate is annoying!
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, I would because it's part of a series and Kate's issues aside? Interesting information comes to play in regards to the other characters.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
    Seeing and meeting Persephone.
What about Brittany Pressleys performance did you like?
She does a good job at females and a decent job of voicing the males.
Do you think Goddess Interrupted needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes, we need to know what happens.
    Any additional comments?
Kate needs to mature .. fast!

    A Fun In-Between Story
What did you love best about The Goddess Hunt?
This was a fun little follow up to the first book, and while it wasn't a full story it was a fun in-between tale that lead to a little more character building before moving on to the second book in the series. It was really great to get a little more background on Zeus' character, and follow along in the twists of Kate and James, even though you still want Kate to be with Henry the whole time.
This was another audio book finish for me, but I listened to it so consecutively that I'm sure I finished it in less than a day.
What did you like best about this story?
It was just a nice quick little follow up story that fit between the first and second book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I pretty much did.
    meh
Um... Kate is getting a little tedious. This is a peek into Kate's 6 months off from Underworld duty, but nothing actually happens.
They run into people who are fugitives and Kate invokes power that she doesn't possess yet to force Henry into letting these fugitives go. Oh and everything is left without any repercussions.
She is off with a guy who is trying to be more than a friend, she knows it, and yet even though she is a newly wed, she is playing the whole "he is just a friend" thing. So either she is dumb, or selfish.
I already bought book two... I guess i will see what happens in the autumn. :/

For millennia we've caught only glimpses of the lives and loves of the gods and goddesses on Olympus. Now Aime Carter pulls back the curtain on how they became the powerful, petty, loving, and dangerous immortals that Kate Winters knows.
Calliope/Hera represented constancy and yet had a husband who never matched her faithfulness.
Ava/Aphrodite was the goddess of love, and yet commitment was a totally different deal.
Persephone was urged to marry one man, yet longed for another.
James/Hermes loved to make trouble for others - but never knew true loss before.
Henry/Hades's solitary existence had grown too wearisome to continue. But meeting Kate Winters gave him a new hope.

This series has been one of my favorites by far
Amazing and really great narrator. It was so easy to get lost in the story!
Interesting Back Story for Current Characters
Where does The Goddess Legacy rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
When I first started listening to this audio book I thought it would be my least favorite in the series, probably because it starts out with Hera who is just a character you can't feel much sympathy for at all because she's so... Whiny? I just dislike Hera, even though the background is supposed to make you feel a little bad about the way she was treated by Zeus (going off quite a bit of history here) and there was nothing the author could do to make me feel bad for her at all-she was that unlikeable.
However, I enjoyed all of the other stories and listening to the background on some of the other characters-it was a fun little addition to the series!
What about Brittany Pressleys performance did you like?
She really embodies the main character.
    As Olympus Turns
What made the experience of listening to The Goddess Legacy the most enjoyable?
Hearing the perspectives from the major players' perspectives and not having to listen Kate's inner monologue.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hades--even with the self-loathing--which is definitely understandable. He doesn't have the go that his brothers have.
    Which scene was your favorite?
The talk between Hades and Persephone. That's all I say in the interest of avoiding spoilers.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yeah. It took me a day to complete.
    Any additional comments?
Hera, Aphrodite, Persephone, Hermes and Hades
There are all Greek Gods that we are familiar with. However, the third book in the Goddess Test series does a pretty good job of fleshing them out. So good, in fact, that it made me muse what separates us mortals from the Gods, if they are just as prone to "human" emotions such as jealousy, loneliness, despair and hatred?
When I finished the previous book, Goddess Interrupted, I was torn between frustration at Aimee Carter for depicting the Greek Pantheon as petty, jealous Gods. Heck, part of the reason why I had to pull away from the Dark Hunter series is because my vision of Artemis was tainted. But no, Carter's depiction of Hera aka Calliope, makes Kenyon's Artemis look like a child throwing a tantrum when she doesn't get her way.
In Legacy, Carter gives us the four different POVs from each characters' perspectives. She gives us their motivation for their deeds in the events from Goddess Test up to Interrupted.

    Members Reviews:
EXCELLENT NARRATION on a precious story.
! story is wonderful, if at times predictable. The characters are well thought out. I love the Uncle. So often characters with mental illness or quirks are written as caricatures, but the Uncle is fascinating and treated with respect.
The narration though, is amazing! I will be hunting down every single book this woman has narrated. Her acting skill is phenomenal!
Best find of this year for me!
This was a crazy good story which I was lost in from the first minute it began. The narration performed by Fiona Hardingham is equally as best as Moira Quirk who narrates the Finishing School series and Katherine Kellgren who narrates Her Royal Spyness series! I absolutely fell in love with every single character (some having to work harder for my affection than others),and in the end I have to say this book has been one of my best finds yet.
Great premise, not so great execution
    Any additional comments?
I really wanted to love this book because it has all the makings of a great story, but by the end I was somewhat disappointed. I genuinely loved the characters and the plot was great, but I think the problem was the storytelling didn't feel cohesive throughout the book. I realize the lack of explanations for things was meant to build mystery, but for whatever reason it just didn't work well, and a nice flow to the story was greatly lacking. I also feel like more detail was given to parts of the story that were somewhat confusing or boring, and less detail/time given to the real meat of the story. The parts I wanted to know more about weren't given much depth, and the parts I wanted to spend more time in were cut short and not given enough story time. The narrator was great, though, and I would love to listen to her again.
    Excellent!
Sharon Cameron's complex but understandable story is artfully narrated by Fiona Hardingham. The detailed steampunk world building is persuasive, the main character's personal development is believable, and many of the characters, major and minor, are memorable works of art, in themselves. Hardingham's persuasive performance makes this audiobook a mesmerizing pleasure. Well done!
Beautiful and Well Read - With Just enough Lovey Dover Stuff
I love authors that give you a bit of Austin style chaste romance that adds to the story. This was a great adventure filled with wonderful characters but few surprises.

Country boy meets big city girl - worlds collide
This is not your typical YA romance book. For example, there are no "good girl falls for the bad boy" moments in this one. In fact it's just the opposite. Ryan is an all-American good guy and Beth is a chain-smoking, foul-mouthed party girl. They love each other deeply but have many emotional and physical challenges to over come. I loved listening to their journey. This book reminded me alot of "The Sea of Tranquility", however, it wasn't quite as good as that one.
This was an enjoyable listen that was well worth my credit!
a classic tale told in a great new way
What did you love best about Dare You To?
this book is so far outside of what I normally read/listen to but I was in the mood for a sappy love story that had a happy ending. I picked this book because it was in the teen section and was more likely to end well. its an old story a girl/guy from the wrong side of the tracks falls in love with a member of high society, but it was told very well. I think the best part for me was how the author told the story from both of the lovers perspectives' and managed to bring them both to life.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Beth, she managed to overcome so much adversity though out the book and even though she only did it because of the help of others she did do it, and looking at her mom in comparison it just proves that you have to want to change before you can.
Have you listened to any of Brittany Pressley and Christopher Gebauer s other performances before? How does this one compare?
this is a first for me with both of the narrators but I was impressed and thought they sounded good together, the only think that did not jive well was the voice difference they used for Beth's mother it was a small thing but it did stand out to me.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes, I normally don't say that in this section but I can say that I did not want to put this book down I even stayed up half the night listening to it knowing I had to work in the morning.

    Publisher's Summary:
Fans of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series and Lauren Kate's FALLEN novels will devour The Beautiful and the Cursed, a wholly original interpretation of gargoyle lore.
It was bizarre and inexplicable, but after it happened no one spoke of it and Ingrid Waverly was forced to leave her life in London behind. She had to trade a world full of fancy dresses and society events for Paris with her mother and younger sister, Gabby.
In Paris there are no grand balls or glittering parties, and, disturbingly, the house her twin brother, Grayson, found for them isn't a house at all. It's an abbey. A creepy, old abbey with a roof lined in stone gargoyles that one could almost mistake for living, breathing creatures.
    And Grayson is missing.
Yet no one seems to be concerned about Grayson's whereabouts save for Luc, a devastatingly handsome servant who has some secrets of his own.
There's one secret about the city that he can't keep hidden, though. There's a murderer on the loose. And every day Grayson is missing means that there's less of a chance he's alive.
Ingrid is sure her twin isn't dead - she can feel it deep in her soul - but she knows he's in grave danger, and that it's up to her and Gabby to find him before all hope is lost.
Only the path to him is more than she could ever imagine.

    Decent trilogy, enjoyable setting
This series had a lot of things I like in a book: historical setting in Paris, old buildings, including an old church and bookstore, gargoyles, demons, angels, romance, fighting, murders, mystery. I can see why it's compared to the Mortal Instruments in a way because it has some similar elements. It is enjoyable, but not as good as Mortal Instruments. It's just not as fully developed.
The series follows three siblings as they become involved in the supernatural world. They become involved with the alliance (a group who fights demons), gargoyles (humans who transform into gargoyles to protect their assigned humans), and various other groups who are all interested in angels/demons. They live in an old church that their mother is transforming into a gallery, and it has an opening that leads to the underworld.
We hear the story from multiple viewpoints, switching between each sibling, the gargoyles, and others along the way. This was different for me because I am used to reading a book from the main character's point of view and sometimes seeing myself as that person. Here you're constantly switching between people. There are multiple romances and friendships forming throughout the series.
My favorite characters were Ingrid and Luc, with Luc being the favorite. I saw another reviewer say he's a jerk, but I disagree, especially if you stick with the whole series. He is standoffish in the beginning to protect people, but he's a good guy who does the right thing. The younger sister is a bit immature, but grows up in later books. The brother doesn't get much time in this book, but you see more of him later.
If you like this first book even mildly, I suggest you stick with the series because I think it gets better as it goes. Narrator is good too.
A beautifully written, and truly enchanting debut.
What did you like best about this story?
    4 Stars
A spiraling, dark historical paranormal, that has just about everything you could possibly crave in a Young Adult book.

Loved it! Innocent, simple, and lovely.
I've read this story a few times, including when it was a free story online. I love the simplicity, yet intriguing storyline. It's a real version of life with out any harshness. Love it.
    Cute story.
What did you like best about The Kissing Booth? What did you like least?
I enjoyed that the story involved a boy/girl best friend relationship, however I was not extremely happy with the ending...but I won't go into detail and spoil it.

    Movies
I absolutely love this heartbreaking story! This is one of many I wish would be picked up by a network to be made into a movie. My husband whom was also my childhood sweetheart passed away at 26 because of complications from cystic fibrosis. This book really got to me because its so relatable to me. To love that hard, it is was so hard to think I would ever be happy again. However, I am now remarried and with a little boy of my own. Lifetime or hallmark should really look into making movies out of Larlenes work.

Also not helping? Lucy's raging jealousy of the cheerleader who's wormed her way into Jude's life.
While trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy and also training to be the top ballet dancer in her class, Lucy knows something's going to give...soon.
How can she live without the boy she loves? How can she live with herself if she gives up on her dreams? If Lucy doesn't make the right choice, she could lose everything.

    A Swoon Worthy NA Series
This is a great story... in line with Thoughtless or Beautiful Disaster. A well developed new adult series with a swoon worthy hero, strong heroine, tension, love and the requisite personal growth of the genre. It really was the very best story, imperfections and all. Read the full series.
