Great ending to a wonderful series!

Book 2 left me a bit confused but this book really helped clear upthe confusion.while it is the end to another series I don't know that there would be anywhere left to go with it. I enjoyed it from start to finish and I usually don't go for the scifi stuff but really good job keeping my interest.

Publisher's Summary:

"My name is Nashville Beaumont. I am 12 years old, and few people know I exist. I was born in a secret underground facility in Texas. My twin sister, Providence, was taken away weeks ago. A tale full of twists and high-stakes adventure, Nashville Beaumont takes you all the way from Texas to Argentina, to the moon, and even on to places far off in the galaxy. His faith in himself is pushed way beyond its limits as he struggles to free his sister from the hands of a bloodthirsty madman, discovering along the way that the very world he lives on is in jeopardy. Hiebert is amazing!

Not my usual genre, I am finding Michael Hiebert to be on one of the top authors on my list. I loved that he shares how he feels about writing and how the stories come to him. It's always interesting finding out a little about how the authors think and are able to produce such great entertainment. This quick, dystopian listen of a young boy trying to find his twin, Providence, is so well written, it's easy to get caught up in it. Learning of violence and death at such young age, Nashville Beaumont is on a mission. Hiebert transports us into a world of thrilling action and deception, not knowing who to trust throughout and ending with the last thing you would expect. Along with the engaging short story of the Hyperbole Engine(which is also as much fun!) you cannot go wrong with this listen.

Eric Bryan Moore showcases his talent with this book. His repertoire of voices is vast, being able to go from a 12 year old boy to an alien to a General with seamless transition is amazing. He engages the listener and keeps you interested.

Good, Short Sci-fi Listen

If you could sum up Nashville Beaumont in three words, what would they be?

Where's the series

What does Eric Bryan Moore bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Eric Bryan Moore narrates it masterfully. Most highly recommended to all lovers of sci-fi, and outstanding fiction

Any additional comments?

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

A haunting dystopian sci-fi, w/ a message

In a stark dystopian world, Nashville Beaumont searches for his 12-year-old sister and her kidnapper, the man he believes killed his family. His search takes us from Texas to Brazil to an alien star system far from earth. The story also explores humanitys endless battle between good and evil, power and loss, freedom and despotism. And Nashville, as he states at the beginning of the story, is a weapon. A weapon we discover that will decide the future of mankind.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully written story with its complex characters and richly drawn world. Its quite rare to find a gem like this in genre fictiona tight, faced paced plot woven together with such elegant, poetic prose into a story that haunts your thoughts well after the last word is uttered. Michael Hiebert has written such a story. And Eric Bryan Moore narrates it masterfully.

Pioneer or heretic? The world's future hangs in the balance.

An incredible pulp steampunk adventure.

Captain Reinvo is ordered to take a prototype iron-sided steamship on its first voyage. The simple cargo run turns deadly when a storm drives the ship so far off-course the crew is sure they're going to fall off the edge of the world. Reinvo fights to save his crew, only to discover a place that shouldn't exist and which may yet get them killed as heretics.

If you like steampunk with elements of fantasy, speculative science-fiction, and thrilling tales, then you'll love the fantastic serial adventures of the Endless Horizons Sagas, written in true homage to the pulp science-fiction classics.

I so enjoyed the author's "Threads" trilogy

Steampunk is a new genre for me. I so enjoyed the author's "Threads" trilogy, that I had to give it a try.

The story centers around a one-of-a-kind ship (designed by a lady engineer whom I am very much looking forward to meeting in the next part) that gets blown far and away off course and our hero, Captain Reinvo, is trying all he can to save the ship and as many crew members as possible. When finally they make land, questions abound. Where are they and who are the people living here? Friend or foe? If they make it back to their home port, how will they explain where they've been?

There is plenty of action and a good start on the development of characters that I expect to see more of. It is an excellent lead-in to what I expect will be a great series!

Very Imppressed, intrigued for more

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am very impressed. I havenât read too much of the steampunk genre, but I really enjoyed this. This was just the prologue but the story literally jumped off of the pages. The action was intense right from the beginning and there was never a dull moment.

I liked the characters and really am enjoying the storyline. I cannot wait to jump into the next book which I do have on my kindle waiting for me.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to many more by this author. This book gets 5***** from this reviewer.

Series 2 is off to a great start

I discovered Leeland last year, and the Golden Threads trilogy was the best story I read last year. I read a lot of new authors, and here is one of the best. Impossible Paradise is his second series and is off to a great start. Strong characters, a nicely textured world, good development of the coming conflict, and it is only the prologue. And with Leeland there is always a twist you don't see coming.

I recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy and different genres

This is the first "steampunk" book that I have read. The concept was intriguing. The ship, Vibrius, is an iron ship. Much of the technology is from an earlier time. The ship becomes damaged and is drifting toward the end of the world and is in danger of falling over the edge. This was an interesting book. The characters of well developed and the story line is well done. I recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy and different genres.

The HMS Enterprise?

If a Star-trek episode happened on a steampunk vessel instead of a space-faring one, you might get this. Shades of the Robinson genre as well.

Good

Would you listen to Rescuca: Savior of the Realm again? Why?

No, because I don't like listening to the same book I've listened to or read over again, I can't do it.

Any additional comments?

I received this book from the author in exchange for a fair review.

I thought this book was absorbing this my first time listening to anything by this author. It had my attention from beginning to end. Even though I don't read books like this, I thought it was fair read.

Patriot or Traitor, You Decide

Rescuca: Savior of the Realm written by D. L. Dunnaville has the feel of a graphic novel but with only one narrator, Kevin Theis.

The introduction has the flavor and cadence of an epic novel such as Dune but that is where the similarity ends. After that it feels more like a sermon.

Characters and circumstances are laid out and a nicely developed philosophical belief is presented in the introduction. The story then commences at an interstellar prison with the leader of the rebel uprising, Rescuca confronting his betrayer and former best friend. This leads to a summary of the events from Rescuca to his right hand man creature, Thaed. The scene continues until the twist at the end that leaves you to draw your own conclusion.

I think I would have given the book more stars if it was a full length novel that lets us relive the events up until the capture of Rescuca and his followers, instead of Rescuca giving a lecture.

Narrator Kevin Theis gives a great performance of vocal and inflection but his rhythm was a little fast for my taste.

This audiobook was provided in exchange for an unbiased review.

Rescuca

Which scene was your favorite?

Very good and brief listen to the audiobook. I enjoy listening to the story and good narration. I recommend to scifi fan

Great Plot! - Very thought-provoking!

What made the experience of listening to Rescuca: Savior of the Realm the most enjoyable?

I first read this book in paperback and then listening to it made it that much better! It was as if I was learning of the story for the first time, even though I knew what was going to happen. So I really enjoyed being able to experience the story all over again and glean something new in the process.
