He was found dead at his desk at home, his skull crushed by a blow with a Remington bronze sculpture, a prized piece from his art collection. The news strikes Greenwich society like a thunderbolt - as does the news that Molly Carpenter Lasch, the beautiful young wife of the slain doctor, has been arrested for her husband's murder.
According to the trial testimony of her housekeeper, Molly had left home in a rage against her husband to go up to their house on Cape Cod. The morning after Molly's return, the housekeeper found Gary dead in his study and Molly upstairs in bed covered with blood. Nobody believes Molly's claim to have no memory of the events of the night of the crime - not her parents, not her friends, not even her own lawyer - and evidence against her is overwhelming. To escape an inevitable conviction she accepts a plea bargain, and subsequently her lawyer wins her early parole.
A few years later, on Molly's release from prison, she reasserts her innocence in front of TV cameras and reporters gathered at the prison gate. Among them is an old acquaintance and schoolmate, Fran Simmons, currently working as an investigative reporter for the True Crime television series. Determined to prove her innocence, Molly convinces Fran to research and present a program on Gary's death.

    The Perfect Mystery
Where does We'll Meet Again rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
A great story plot that you can listen to anytime and anywhere, YES, your kids can listen too. So glad to find an author that is suspenseful but yet don't have to worry about who is listening in. THANK YOU MRS MARY HIGGINS CLARK
    Enjoyed Listening to Jan Maxwell
What made the experience of listening to We'll Meet Again the most enjoyable?
Jan Maxwell's performance. She has a nice voice compared to the other reader, Christina ______. There are a few other Mary Higgins Clark books I would like to read and listen to but cannot listen to Christina's reading but Jan Maxwell does a very, very nice job and now the only books that I will read/listen to (I switch back and forth - when driving in the car or doing housework I will listen and at night, I will read the Kindle version.
    "We'll Meet Again"...Probably
I have read several Mary Higgins Clark novels and have enjoyed them. Which is why I decided to try "We'll Meet Again" ala Audible. I was not disappointed by the novel in itself, nor was there anything lacking by the actor Jan Maxwell, whose voice appeals to me a lot. All that said I think the editing of the novel lacked flow, or rather too much flow.
Many times while listening to the book I would find myself wondering how we got to where we were. I wondered if my mind had wandered off. I would have to back up to a point where I understood the story and then would continue forward to a point where it dawned on me that the chapter had changed. There was so little pause, that the next chapter sounded like the next sentence. A bit annoying whiling driving.
Still my favorite author but not my favorite book...
I had a bit of a hard time getting into this particular story certainly the beginning was very slow moving.
Others may love it however , just not my type a storyline .
The interview at the end however is almost worth the credit.... I absolutely adore Mrs.

Entertaining Enough, But Don't Listen Too Closely
    Enjoyable, but flawed.
On the plus side, this is an entertaining listen that will keep you engaged. If you overlook a few plot gimmicks, you will probably enjoy this tale. I did and will listen to more of Steven James books.
James is particularly deft in handling the "Christian inspirational" themes. These wouldn't deter me even if they were handled more forcefully; I enjoyed the Left Behind series which IS much more direct. James, though, uses a relatively light touch that works well and naturally for this story ~ so if this sort of thing gives you pause, there is no need to fear overt moralizing or calls to conversion. This is not that kind of book.
What you will find are good, but flawed, good guys ~ very bad, bad guys ~ focus on an interesting criminological technique ~ and a creative, engaging plot.
Unfortunately, that plot is unnecessarily, almost distracting, complex. Narrator Richard Ferrone, ordinarily one of the best, stumbles a bit here, failing to differentiate voices sufficiently to render the multiple villains easily identifiable.
The plot is also, sometimes, ridiculously contrived. An example: our protagonist, FBI special agent Patrick Bowers, is something of a wunderkind in tracking serial killers. He is in the midst of a search for such a villain who tortures and kills young women; many of them. On a personal level, our hero is also having trouble bonding with his new step-daughter. So instead of planning to spend quality time with her following his violent man hunt, he insists the FBI fly the 17-year-old in to see him, right in the middle of the serial killers' hunting ground. Oh, I wonder what might happen there! (sarcasm).
Alas, James resorts to this sort of plot contrivance several times. It detracts from the story and renders the characters and the tale less believable. For maximum enjoyment, prepare yourself to overlook this sort of thing.
Also, don't expect too much in the way of character development. It is all but absent, except in the main protagonist, where it is sudden and not especially well developed.
And lastly, prepare yourself for moments of tortured, overworked prose. An example: Bowers, preparing to see his step-daughter, observes that he is off "to see this raven, left on my doorstep, by this thing we call life."
All in all, enjoyable but flawed. There are probably better places to spend a credit (for mysteries/suspense/thrillers, first try Lee Child, Thomas Harris, Michael Connelly, Stieg Larsson, Tess Gerritsen, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Vince Flynn, John Sandford, Sandra Brown, David Baldacci, Jonathan Kellerman, you get the idea).
If you have already mined these writers, then maybe it's worth giving Steven James a try. I did and am preparing to sample the second in this series, fingers crossed that story-telling improves as the series grows.

    Easy Listen
I mix up my audio books - serious- funny-easy catagories. I lisened to the HELP before this and wanted something not too heavy... This is in the easy & cute catagory. Reminds me of the old Murder She Wrote series on TV when I was a teenager. Narrator was good too..
    Truly enjoyable!
Love all of this series.Having the same narrator throughout the series is great! Her performance truly enjoyable. Looking for more!
No. Really don't even think about it....
This book may well have started out as a high school creative writing assignment and not made it much beyond. That a publisher was found for it is amazing. Though the plot is not objectionable, none of the characters is has been developed beyond the level of a 30-minute sit-com. The dialog is dreadful. It is corny, stilted and uninspired, with a child who sounds no different from any of the adults. The reader does nothing to help the situation. She has a rather annoying style, and there are unpleasant mouth noises as she speaks. Not worth even the $4.95.....
Enjoyable while doing tasks that aren't so enjoyab
Find it entertaining while painting, cleaning or completing other mundane adult responsibilities.
It's a nice road trip listen.
    Great Again, Not a Fluke!
What did you love best about Blueberry Muffin Murder?
I loved the relationship between Hannah and her sister the most in this book. I am close with my own sister, so it is nice to see someone else who is just as close.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blueberry Muffin Murder?
One of the most memorable moments of the Blueberry Muffin Murder is when one we learn that one of the characters was adopted. It added a nice little twist to the story.
Which character as performed by Suzanne Toren was your favorite?
Hannah is my favorite character. Or possibly her sister, Andrea. They are both so funny and get into crazy situations.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Nothing really "moved me," because it was not really an emotional story.

Well written but not a Joe O'Loughlin book...
I read The Suspect first, and chose this too hastily, hoping for another O'Loughlin book. It is taking place some time after Suspect, with Ruis from The Suspect, now retired and friendly ex-colleagues with Alicia, the feisty protagonist.
Once into it, I came to enjoy Robotham's writing again. The story tells a grim truth about human trafficking, baby selling, and attendant ugly human realities, and a woman sikh D.C.'s effort to wind her way through the knots of a complex set of agendas.
The protagonist is both good and annoying (to me) as Robotham portrays her. She's bright, incisive, aggressive and well trained as a DC. But he wrote her into many scenes requiring too much willing suspension of disbelief for me. He has her behaving like a naively brazen provocateur of bad guys who'd likely kill her instantly. She too often assumes she will be believed and taken seriously by males in the police world, thinking they'll do the right thing, when in fact, the usual self-interest reigns supreme. This naiveté didn't work for me, but there was enough of a good story to keep me engaged.
The narrator was good in Alicia's voice, but not very skilled with male voices.
I'll keep reading Robotham, hoping for more stories with the psychologist.
    Unique Story
I really have enjoyed Michael Robotham's books. This one was particularly interesting because the main character is a young woman and the author effectively and believably writes from her perspective. Parts of the story were quite exciting and I had to make sure I was focusing on the road enough while listening. I am really looking forward to Michael Robotham's next book, SHATTER, when it is available in the US.
    An ok read
The first half of the book nearly put me to sleep but thankfully the second half picked up. The story did not provide an in depth analysis of any particular subject, but glanced over lifestyle, heritage, adoption, and human trafficking. Although it became an ok read, I think that subjects that are way too serious were not given any real attention, but were merely "situations" that were involved during an investigation that arose when a woman that had claimed to be pregnant was killed and it was then found that she had only been pretending. I think the story had a typical, decent beginning, but then it kind of ran all over the map pulling in all different issues that for me had no bearing on what the story was actually about, how it unfolded, or how it ended.
    Great Book!
I repay enjoyed this book and I love Clare Corbett! She does such an amazing job narrating!!!
    Yep its just ok.
Im glad to hear this picks up after the 1st half. I only got half way through so will revisit! (Great review majulatr by the way .. sums up the book nicely)
Very disappointing compared with Lost which I would highly recommend.

    Lemon Meringue Pie Murder
These murder mysteries are a delight! They move quickly and are full of quirky interesting characters - I never tire of them.
    A cute cozy
I'm not a fan of cozies, but bought this one at a friend's urging. It is a very typical cozy - a small town (with remarkably high crime rate), an amateur detective, no violence. If you're in to baking, I think you've more than likely already found this series, as it is filled with recipes. I was a little put off by the general primness of the characters (oh no! a grown man drinking and meeting women at bars? a woman possibly dating someone of a different race? phew! turns out she's not!), but it was a reasonable listen and probably very enjoyable for someone who likes cozies.
    Lemon Meringue Pie Murder
I also enjoyed this book very much. Characters are easy to follow. Easy Fun listening. Good plot also easy to follow. Can't wait to listen to the next one.
    I love it.
I borrow the book from the library, and I started reading from kindle then I purchased the audio. Since I am learning English this feature in which I can read and listen along is helpful. Nice story, narration.
    Great series

    She never fails!
Once again J. A. Jance has proven to be one of the best writers I've ever read. JP Beaumont is my favorite character of Jance's. I only wish she would write faster, I can't wait for the next book.
    Boring!
What disappointed you about Justice Denied?
Very slow moving and really quite a waste of time; when I find myself doing other things instead of listening to the book, I know it's not for me! Half-way through I just gave up and moved along to another book.
Has Justice Denied turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, as I like this genre of book.
What does Ala Nebelthau bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She's only as good as the words she is given to read. While a good narrater, there wasn't much she could do for the story.
    Any additional comments?
While this may be from a best selling author, I really wish I hadn't spent the money to get it. It is very slow moving and really not that interesting.
    JA Janice continues to flow.
Excellent book in the JP Beaumont series. Ala Nebelthau is a MUCH better reader than Gene Engene of the auto books!
For the reasons I liked JA Jance in the first....
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The author has gone form male friendly to making every case a tutorial on feminism and how the world has changed.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Always, JP Beaumont. He can no longer be the hero in a cop story since he spends his days learning about what men no longer can do.
What does Ala Nebelthau bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
    Great reader
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    No
    Any additional comments?
This is my last book of JA Jance. She has changed dramatically.
    JP Beaumont is Perfect
Love JP, love Mel, and all the friends and family in these stories. This is book 17 - and Beau is back in the saddle. (Book 16 paired him with another police person, and it was not as good as the JP series.)

Dispatched to investigate the suicide of one of D.C.'s most influential defense officials, an ardent, early supporter of the war in Iraq, Drummond and his female partner find themselves in the middle of a tug-of-war between Washington's most influential power brokers and his own personal allegiance to the soldiers dying overseas. What he uncovers are the secrets that led to the war, secrets that, once exposed, would destroy public support and undermine the presidency. Now Drummond faces the greatest moral quandary of his life: what is the true meaning of patriotism?
    Critic Reviews:
"A marvelously twisted plot and marvelously twisted characters help along a tale in which Drummond actually gets to act a little human. Great entertainment; highly recommended." (
    Library Journal)
    Members Reviews:
    Not the same...
Brian Haig has created a rich and compelling character named Sean Drummond but this time Sean didn't seem the same. It went off track for me when I heard the reader's voice -- too old for Sean. His female characters had deeper voices than the males. Please, bring back the old Sean and one of the other readers -- Scott Brick or John Rubenstein. Don't miss other Haig books. They really are fantastic.
    character/reader mismatch
I really struggled through this book because of the narrator -- his voice just didn't jibe with the character of Sean Drummond. I agree with the first reviewer -- please bring back Scott Brick or John Rubenstein. I only rated the book three stars, though it may have deserved more, because I just couldn't get by the narrator's voice.
    Where is Scott Brick?
I realize several other readers have made the same comment, but I did want to stress how incredibly distracting it was to change readers in this series. I nearly quit listening several times, until the book itself became so interesting that I could stop being distracted by the "wrong" voice. The narrator was adequate, but in my brain, I hear Scott Brick as Sean Drummond. PLEASE, Brian Haig, insist on Scott in the future! The book was very good, and I learned a great deal about the Middle East, but I nearly gave up in the early going. I'm not sure the narrator always understood Sean's sense of irony or humor. He quite literally trampeled on the jokes, and the humor was badly needed to offset the grimness of the subject matter.
I am not certain why the current narrator breathes so loudy, but either the producers made an error in muting a natural breathing technique, or the narrator himself needs to quell his inhilations.
As for the story itself, it was top-rate. It's not often I read a thriller and come away thinking that I need to do historical research on the subject matter. Well done, Brian Haig.
    timely
The book is on a timely topic and really quite good. The reader, however, does not do justice to the character of Sean Drummond. As a consequence, Drummond came across as too much of a heavy. I hope that Scott Brick returns as reader in the next book by Haig.
    Good Story But HORRIBLE Narrator
The plot seemed to dwell for hours on the opening event. I started to feel like "enough is enough".
The story about half way really picked up and had my attention all the way thereafter. I actually enjoyed the overall story when it was finished. I enjoy the Sean Drummond character (President's Assasin was very good).

    Survival of the fittest
This is only my third Kellerman book and have found them well written. I remember reading about these purity theories in school and about the sterilization of the mentally ill and retarded in the 1930's. This made for an interesting story with some nail biting moments. Looking forward to some more by Kellerman.
Not the first Alex Delaware, and far from the best
I got this inexpensively from the Audible "first in series" sale -- a great idea, by the way! -- and was glad it was "only" a sale item.
I enjoyed the early (1980's) Delaware books, but felt they went rapidly downhill starting with "The Web" in the early 90's. I was surprised to see this book billed as the "first in series," and thought maybe I'd missed something; but "Survival" is in fact from 1997, published in that "middle period"' where Kellerman's psychologist hero was, for me anyway, at his weakest. After a shocking opening scene, this one really drags , takes too long to get moving, and is not helped by the rather monotonous narration--felt like the narrator picked up on the author's lack of inspiration.
P.S. The first published Alex Delaware novel is actually "When The Bough Breaks" (1985). "Blood Test" and "Over the Edge," the first and second in the series, are the ones to get.
    Decent Book, Bad Sound
The actual book was pretty good, but the ending just sort of came up and there were lots of unexplainied things. Entertaining though, for sure.
The narration and the sound were terrible. Lines were repeated that were obvious edits. The volume of the narration would go from practically inaudibly quiet to startingly loud. I don't think that a single internal person listened to this recording post-edit for quality control.
A few voices were great, but others either sounded alike or were very very odd. There were several mispronunciations and misreadings that were irritating.
Fine for pure entertainment, but a real subpar recording overall.
    Survival of the Fittest
The story line was enjoyable to listen to, but the narrator was terrible. The worst I have heard on your books.
    A bit of a disappointment
I love Kellerman. He has delivered great page turners for years now. But I am starting to think this may be the end of the series. Nothing new here and the formula has been done a hundred times...many of them by Kellerman himself.
There's a blah blah quality to the story -- which could have been much shorter -- or more carefully plotted.

I enjoyed the book, right up until the ending which was rather abrupt, with no handshake or thank you ma'am

    Publisher's Summary:
New York Times best-selling author Sandra Brown is back with a spine-tingling story of murder and betrayal, and a homicide detective's struggle with his own rules of conduct.
When Detective Sergeant Duncan Hatcher is summoned to the home of Judge Cato Laird in the middle of the night to investigate a fatal shooting, he knows that discretion and kid-glove treatment are the key to staying in the judge's good graces and keeping his job.
At first glance, the case appears open-and-shut: Elise, the judge's trophy wife, interrupted a burglary in progress and killed the intruder in self-defense. But Duncan is immediately suspicious of Elise's innocent act. And further investigation quickly puts Duncan's career in jeopardy because he can't deny his increasing attraction to Elisa Laird, even if she is a married woman, a proven liar, and a murder suspect.
Ricochet's plot twists, as only Sandra Brown can write them, make this a gripping thriller, in which a decent cop's worst enemy may be his own conscience...and trusting the wrong person could mean the difference between life and death.
    Critic Reviews:
"Gripping and absorbing, this is Brown's best thriller in years and a must-read for her many devotees." (Booklist)
"Tight plotting, a hot love story with some nice twists, and a credible ending help make this a stand-out thriller." (Publishers Weekly)

    Disappointing At Best
I can't believe this book was actually written by the same Sandra Brown that I have enjoyed for many years. I have listened to most of her novels but this one is a "bust". Her main character, disguised as a Detective Sargeant, is so utterly lacking in skills as a law enforcement officer that it was laughable. The rest of the charactors are equally frustrating, stupid, and unbelieveable. I know that fiction is fiction but this was ridiculously presented as a romantic/thriller/mystery, etc. and came off looking like a quickie novel with very little thought put into it. I actually gave some thought to abandoning this book half way through but continued on hoping it would redeem itself......didn't happen. Take a pass on this one and I'm sorry I didn't.
2 stars. It was not fun.
I was angry at Elise for more than half the book. She asks Duncan for help and says her husband wants to kill her. When Duncan asks what her husbands motive is, she wont tell him. Therefore, he has no reason to believe or help her. Finally at about the 3/4 mark, she tells him why. Then Duncan helps her and the story becomes interesting. I would cut a lot of the first 2/3 or so of the book. There was too much hypothesizing, pondering, and wondering. I did enjoy the last part. I enjoyed what happened to the bad guys at the end. There was a happy ending with a little romance. But the first 2/3 or so made it not worth recommending.
A similar thing happened when Duncan asked Elise about her meetings in hotel rooms with Coleman. She said they were friends about 20 times. But she never clarified or gave details to Duncan. Duncan did some investigating and got a different opinion, and by the end of the book, I was still unclear. I can assume something, but I wish the author had been clearer. I was annoyed that again Elise never gave details about this to Duncan when she was asking for his trust and help.
    The narrator was Dennis Boutsikaris.
