    "A" reviled
In this book you find out who A is and who Alis Killer is :) I guessed A wrong (it ended up being my second suspect) but I did guess right as to where all the secret information came from. I had no clue about who Alis killer was but to tell you the truth I am still not sure they got the right person. I guess I will have to listen to more of this series to find out (darn twisting my arm). This series is a guilty pleasure for me. I am 26 and should not get a kick out of this shallow gossip high school stuff but these books just draw you in and force you to care about people you should find shallow, spoiled, rich brats.
    filled with suspense
What made the experience of listening to Unbelievable the most enjoyable?
The reader, she is so perfect to portray teenage girls
Which character as performed by Cassandra Morris was your favorite?
Spencer, she is always been my favorite
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
hmm I'd need to think on that one
    Any additional comments?
So far out of all the PLL'S books this one really had me coming back for more, guessing what would happen next and I was sad to see it end because it left me with unanswered questions but I was happy when I realized book five was out and I wouldn't have to wait for it.
    Better than the first two
Good story, better than the first two books. And interesting how different it started to become from the show. The narrator needs to enunciate better. Pronounce words that end in 'ten', 'tin', and 'ton' instead of cutting off the 't'. It's pronounced 'stray-ten' (straighten), NOT stray-en! same for cotton and button! It's not cott-en or butt-en. Really annoying!
    Guilty pleasure overload!
Would you listen to Unbelievable again? Why?
    YES
What about Cassandra Morriss performance did you like?
It took me some time to get into her narrating. Her voice is the perfect voice to play 16 year old girls. She was able to depict all the characters perfectly
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    All of the above
    Any additional comments?
Love PLL! Would not recommend this book to your young daughters. It has a lot of sexual content for a YL book.
    IT can't be over?
Where does Unbelievable rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This is a light easy to listen to book. The characters are fun and interesting and the plot line entertaining. It is not the Count of Monte Christo....but it has a wonderful apeal. Ranks in the top 200....and I've read thousands.
What other book might you compare Unbelievable to and why?
Unbelievable is a strong contender in the young adult genre. It is for girls what the Ranger Apprentice is for boys.
Which character as performed by Cassandra Morris was your favorite?
I really like the character Emily.

One of the best-selling young-adult books of all time.

John and his best friend, Lorraine, can never please their parents, and school is a chore. Zindel's groundbreaking, best-selling tour de force was one of the first young-adult books ever written and has been taught in classrooms for over 40 years. It includes a fascinating interview with the author, Paul Zindel.
    Critic Reviews:
"Charlie McWade and Eden Riegel do an outstanding job of bringing the characters to life. This remarkable audiobook is a must-have for high school and public libraries." (School Library Journal)
    Members Reviews:
Excellent way to teach point of view
Awesome narration. Students get to see two points of view and have a clear description of Lorraine and John's characterization. Narration is done by a male and female that do an excellent portrayal of the characters they represent. I highly recommend it.
Not as Profane and Inappropriate as You'd Think
This book was first published the year I was born: 1968. It was one of the most frequently banned books in the 1990s. That's right. Not the 1970s or the 1980s, but the 1990s. Why? Not really sure. The two main characters are high school sophomores who lie, drink, smoke, make crank phone calls. There is no profanity and no sex and maybe just a little violence (but not much). These were clearly the reasons why certain pressure groups worked to banned this book. Instead of being profane and inappropriate, the story explores the loneliness of a widower (The Pigman) and the regret the kids have when they realize that they have taken for granted a very special and short-lived relationship with The Pigman. This super fast read would likely be of interest to most young adults (and a few not so young adults).
    Just Amazing.
I first read this book in middle school. I've loved it ever since. now with the narration by Eden Riegel and Charlie McWade, I've fallen in love all over again. To my surprise, it had an accompanying interview with Mr. Zindel himself. I highly recommend this version to anyone.
    loved it
my most memarable moment of the book has to be page 121 read it...
i loved the book its a really nice story and if your very but very emotional than you might drop a tear on the last pages but i loved it paul zindel did it again cant wait to read the sequel
    One of my top 5
What made the experience of listening to The Pigman the most enjoyable?
it really brought back memories from jr high, It was one of the only books i liked reading then.
What about Eden Riegel and Charlie McWade s performance did you like?
the voice actors had real depth to them and really brought the characters to life.

    Publisher's Summary:
On the very day that Jacky Faber is to wed her true love, she is kidnapped by British Naval Intelligence and forced to embark on yet another daring mission--this time to search for sunken Spanish gold. But when Jacky is involved, things don't always go as planned. Jacky has survived battles on the high seas, the stifling propriety of a Boston finishing school, and even confinement in a dank French prison. But no adventure has quite matched her opportunistic street-urchin desires - until now!
    Members Reviews:
Jacky adds "Mermaid" to her resume'!
In this seventh book of the Bloody Jack series, listeners will not be disappointed. More crazy luck and unpredictable situations abound. Jacky's new "job" involves salvaging gold from a famous shipwreck, and Jacky is the only "member" of the British Royal Navy who will "volunteer" and can get the job done right . . . almost. Plus, you will find out who her pirate friends are, i.e. those who think of Jacky in a romantic way (men, I swear!), and her pirate enemies, i.e. those who wish her dead, and attempt to make it true. And, Jacky saves the day--again--[sigh] for the Royal Navy. Do they ever get tired of being shown up by a girl? Plus there's cock fighting! And, Jacky and Jaimy are closer than ever to being married, but wait--not so fast!
Did I mention Jacky is reasonably fluent in Spanish? Did I mention she expands her growing circle of admirers (and haters)? Did I mention the cock fighting?
The only reason I give this four stars for story and overall is because I am comparing it to the other books in the series, and a couple of the others are definitely my favorites. So, while this is not my favorite book in the series, it is still an excellent listen, and superbly read by Katherine Kellgren. If I could give TEN stars for performance, I would!
By the way, if you are already a fan of this series, check out the free Audible download of reader Katherine Kellgren interviewing author L.A. Meyer. Lots of insight and fascinating facts!
    Marvelous Narration
I love Katherine Kellgren's accents of the different characters, especially the warm, caring accent of Jemima. Her narration of the humorous adventures of that larger than life character, Jacky Faber, is superb.
    Excellent series
I originally got book one for my son, but pre-listened to it.
I don't think the series is appropriate for an 11 year old boy (in my opinion), but I LOVED it. I've listened to all seven now and can't wait for the next one. The narrator is phenomenal, and the stories and fun and lively.
I think this is a great series for girls ages 12 and up, and their moms too...
    best one so far
I gave all of the books in this series 5 stars. This one being the best.
    great book, great narrator

Since she can remember, Katarina's relatives have been grooming her for the family business - thieving. But when Kat tries to go straight and leave the "Life" for a normal life, she's promptly kicked out of her new school for stealing the headmaster's car and mounting it on the school fountain. Although she could have done it without breaking a sweat, ironically, this time, she's innocent.
In fact, she was framed - by another highly skilled thief. Her friend and brother-in-trade Hale, with his mischievous smile and limitless bank account, has appeared out of nowhere to bring her back to the Life, back to the family Kat tried so hard to escape.
Hale has a good reason: A powerful mobster has just been robbed of his priceless art collection, and he wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have cracked this vault, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he IS the list.
Now, caught between Interpol and a far more deadly predator, Kat's dad needs her help. For Kat, a consummate thief in her own right, the solution is simple: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and maybe just enough misguided pride to pull off the biggest heist in history - or at least in her family's (very crooked) history.

    A Pleasant Surprise
This was deeper than I expected it to be. It's definitely YA but it still has a good message about war crimes. I'm looking forward to reading another one.
    Fun listen!!!
Needing a break from "serious" books, I chose The Heist.
What a fun listen!!! Angela Dawe seamlessly changes her voice for each character regardless of gender and age. Each character is recognizable, even Halle and Nick.
The story is fun, interesting and believable. The length is perfect.
Saving to my re-listen list for my next needed break!
    Masterful narrator; regrettable story
This is an unlikely story with cliche characters, cheesy fictional elements, an unrealistic plot, and a predictable ending. But what more can we expect from YA literature? I only finished the story so I could spend more time with the narrator, whose grasp of voices and accents was masterful.
    The Good Bad Guys
This series is so much fun. Great for any age reader/listener. If only we all had a rich boy best friend to fly us all over the world on a whim.
    fun listen
if you want a fun, non scary listen with a good conversation and plot twist this is for you!

"I'm not crazy. I don't see what the big deal is about what happened. But apparently someone does think it's a big deal because here I am. I bet it was my mother. She always overreacts."
Fifteen-year-old Jeff wakes up on New Year's Day to find himself in the hospital. Make that the psychiatric ward. With the nut jobs. Clearly, this is all a huge mistake. Forget about the bandages on his wrists and the notes on his chart. Forget about his problems with his best friend, Allie, and her boyfriend, Burke. Jeff's perfectly fine, perfectly normal, not like the other kids in the hospital with him. Now they've got problems. But a funny thing happens as his 45-day sentence drags on: the crazies start to seem less crazy.
Compelling, witty, and refreshingly real, Suicide Notes is a darkly humorous novel from award-winning author Michael Thomas Ford that examines that fuzzy line between "normal" and the rest of us.
    Members Reviews:
Entertaining narrative for a serious subject
This story is written as a diary, with each chapter being one day in fifteen year old Jeff's 45 day hospitalization after a failed suicide attempt. The subject is serious, but Jeff is a great narrator: funny, sarcastic, and insightful. Youth suicide is an important problem in the US (third leading cause of death among people ages 15-19) and this book provides useful information while at the same time telling a good story. Resources for depression and suicide are included in an afterword. This book works well in audio format because the chapters are very short (5-10 minutes each) and can be listened to easily in short bursts. Recommended.
    Astonishingly good
After an attempted suicide, Jeff wakes up in a psychiatric ward where he is forced to spend the next 45 days. He doesnt want to and hes determined not to cooperate, but his stay isnt optional and his parents refuse to take him home. Finding their son almost bloodless in a bathtub isnt something they particularly want to relive, and if the psych ward is what it takes to keep him alive, thats where hell stay for as long as it takes.
Jeff handles his situation with lots of denial wrapped in good humor. He absolutely refuses to acknowledge that he has a problem and he is determined not to talk about his reasons for cutting his wrists open. According to him, his parents and the doctor made a mistake and he shouldnt be locked up with the crazies.
Jeffs story is heartwarming and poignant, but its also simple and laugh-out-loud funny. This diary-like narrative is one of the most honest things Ive ever read. There are no heroes, no villains, no Big Drama whatsoever. Its just a story about a boy that could easily be your next door neighbor or your second cousin. Its not unusual at all and thats what makes it so special.
Jeffs character was truly done brilliantly. He is easily relatable, even (or especially) when hes being obnoxious to his doctors and his fellow patience. Avoidance is his way to handle everything, but every now and again, a real feeling shines trough, be it anger at his parents for daring to save his life, resentment towards his doctors and nurses and the complete and utter hopelessness he feels about his situation.
I want to make this very clear: Suicide Notes is a book that deals with serious issues, but its rarely a sad read and its never angsty. Jeffs sarcastic voice determines the overall tone, which is more funny than anything else.

Yes! The truth is she's secretly forced to pose as an American dancer behind enemy lines in Paris, where she entices a French general into revealing military secrets - all to save her dear friends. Then, in intrepid Jack Faber style, she dons male clothing and worms her way into a post as a galloper with the French army, ultimately leading a team of men to fight alongside the great Napoleon.
In this sixth installment of the "Bloody Jack" series, love and war collide as the irrepressible Jacky Faber sets off on a daring adventure she vowed she'd never take!
    Members Reviews:
Our sailor now is on land
It takes some rather odd circumstances to get Jacky into close proximity with Napoleon himself. But the upshot is that the reader is forced to consider that war is not simple with good guys all on one side and glory as the reward.
Several characters remark that our heroine has 9 lives, it's probably more like 20, I've lost track of the many times she is at the point of dying when. . . something happens and she is saved! Ah well, that's the genre after all.
Kellgren continues to surpass all expectations. In this book, she has to indicate that Jacky is speaking French with an American accent, while continuing to narrate in her original Cockney. She also gets to do German and Russian accents for a change. Without her, I probably would never have picked up this series written for a younger audience and wouldn't have gone past one or two volumes. I only wish I had children the right age to appreciate these books.
    Stunning & Engaging
I don't think I've enjoyed a story or reader yet that is as engaging and "In the Momemt" as L.A. Meyer's Jack series read by Katherine Kellgren. Once again I feel like I am there, beside Jack the whole way, rather than reading what will surely become another account of her adventurers.
    A most remarkable narrator!
What made the experience of listening to My Bonny Light Horseman the most enjoyable?
Katherine Kellgren's portrayal of the characters and her ability to infuse the story with such enthusiastic life. Very few narrators I have listened to perform to her level.
What did you like best about this story?
The fantastical situations the lead character finds herself in and her realistic responses to them.
What does Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I have a vivid imagination when I read a good book and often come close to forgetting I am just reading a story, but, listening to Katherine does makes me forget I am listening to a book being read.
Another Charming Romp from Bloody Jack
Love the series. It is written for young adults, and I am so far from being one, but the series continues to be utterly charming, with Katherine Kellgren embodying and personifying the impulsive, brave, lighthearted scamp, Jackie Favre. The author introduces little anachronisms for the delectation of a modern audience, such as Jackie's taking the sobriquet of "Jacqueline Bouvier" while in France and New Orleans.
    Always satisfying and funny!
Wonderful narrator - but creepy elements
I am in awe of the narrator. I feel like I'm treated to a very special performace--and she absolutely makes the book.
    Downside, I am an adult.

    Prepare Yourself
If you could sum up Living Dead Girl in three words, what would they be?
    Frightening, Grasping, Heartbreaking.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Living Dead Girl?
When the main character made a plan to escape from being Ray's 'Alice'.
Have you listened to any of Kate Reinderss other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first time listening to Kate Reinders.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    It isn't just a dream.
    PG rated. suggested violence.
written as a 15 year old attempting poetry. nice change of pace, but I would not want to read books like this regularly. not a big fan of making your own ending up but in this case you pretty much have to.
    Very well done.
Narrators voice is perfect for this book. Its disturbing but beautifully written. Best read in awhile.
    Good story, good reader.
wished there was more to the ending. The story ended too abruptly. Enjoyed the reader.
    Mostly Great
Narrator did an amazing job. The story really got you into how awful the girl's life is and made you feel it. The only criticism I have is the ending was a tad abrupt and unsurprising. It was a good ending still, just lacked that special something. Really made you feel a variety of emotions from pure anger to sadness. Well done.
