if you're particular like me you might care

Cuuuuute! I have a few small bones to pick, if you're particular like me you might care.

1) I don't like the line about eating everything on your plate- I don't think that's an awfully healthy way to look at food. I do like that it says to save your leftovers. We'll focus on that part when we read it.

2) I wish that the bit about water conservation had a justification that was a little more direct- saving water is not really about keeping the ocean blue. Everything else seems to be much more directly connected, and I feel the author could have done a little bit better on that particular bit.

Really these are small complaints, we'll definitely keep the book. I think it does an excellent job of helping kids realized that they can do a lot to help take care of the earth, and my son LOVES the pictures.

Builds love for the earth a fun way

My son grabbed this at preschool to show me when on his birthday he got to pick his favorite book to read to everyone. He talked about how much he loves the earth and that is why he wants to pick up the garbage....he is learning responsibility for the earth in a positive joyful way. It's terrific. So, we bought it for him to give to his dad for his birthday..so they can read it together.

Smash hit with preschool & kindergarten kids!

Another fantastic book from popular children's author Todd Parr. His unique style of colorful illustrations and simple text are a smash hit with preschool and kindergarten audiences every time. This is the perfect book to read to your preschool or kindergarten class or child on Earth Day. Each page highlights one way young children can help make the world a better place followed by a "because" statement. Adding because statements makes the message in this book even more powerful. Kindle edition--a good, quick read

This is a review for the free Kindle edition. The e-book version is well-formatted without any noticeable mistakes. It doesn't have any front matter (no preface or introduction) nor a table of contents, but the work is divided into chapters and as a whole is fairly short (novella-length, "1441" locations). The only annoying part is the old-fashioned one-sentence summary of each chapter that you have to learn to skip over (lest you find out what's about to happen).

The story itself is wilder and weirder than the Disney movie. It's a little more violent, a little more moralistic, but still an entertaining read. The classic components of the story that most people know are here (Geppetto, the extending nose, and even an unnamed talking cricket, who is not treated quite as gently here), but there are other characters and events that are classic in their own right (the fox and the cat, the girl with azure hair). Though the story can have a grab-bag, incohesive feel at times, the last sequence of events (beginning with the trip to the "Land of Toys") is compelling. A fun read!

The original PInocchio story -- not watered down and sugar-coated, but a delight for all ages.

Got this for a friend. She loved it. Wonderful text and illustrations. There is no comparison to the saccharine, bowdleriized Walt Dsiney version of the story. Do yourself a favor and get this version, if you can. Or, you won't know what you are missing.

Perfecto

Fabulous classic book! I bought it to read to my kids at night but loved it so much I read it myself. It is a wonderful story of the consequences of disobedience and the blessings of forgiveness and grace and second chances. It was also rigorously funny. In some parts I laughed until I cried. I would recommend this to anyone from age 5 to 95

Salvation is at hand

Wonderful parallel story of forgiveness and salvation by a loving my father to that God and humans. In many ways superior to wooden Bible stories.

It was fun to read the original Pinnochio

Read this to understand the character references in Coover's "Pinnochio in Venice". It was fun to read the original Pinnochio. Not much like the Disney version.

Music too loud and distracting

I found the music distracting, making the French more difficult to hear. Learning French is hard enough without the background noise. I was also hoping I could follow along in my Kindle, but the audio and the book didn't seem to match-up at all. Unfortunately, there are few whisper-sync French books available in the American Amazon/Audible library.

Having two different narrators didn't help either.

It may be a superb performance if you're fluent in French, but I'm not there yet.
