What did you love best about Shifting Love?
made me think outside the box
What other book might you compare Shifting Love to and why?
    not sure
Which character as performed by Julie McKay was your favorite?
    maggie
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes, didnt want to stop listening
    Any additional comments?
couldnt wait to start book II
Blah, barely able to finish it
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The narrator had the same voice most of the time, like she was reading the book to me, no emotion emoted. The book seemed to have things like shifting thrown in that really didn't have any impact on the story except at the end to add another chapter. I just really felt like I was being bounced all over.
Would you ever listen to anything by Constance O' Day-Flannery again?
    Probably not.
Would you be willing to try another one of Andi Arndts performances?
    not interested
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    The female character had potential.
good story but not so good narration
At least it was on sale. I like the story but the narrator is making it hard to keep going. While I normally like female narrators as they can usually do both a male and female voice, I am disppointed on this one. She drops the voice mid conversation and the male voices are barely distingushable as male. Definately a narrator to skip in the future. Maybe i'll try the writer on Kindle.

AUDIBLE TAKE THIS BULL__ OFF YOUR LIBRARY PLEASE
This was awful, bad amateur narration which sounded like it was recorded in a tin box coupled with a rushed story (if you could call it that) which jumped from one thing to the other. Could have been written by a 12 year old.
I think Audible should have black stars too for really bad books and narrators because giving it even 1 star is overdoing the reward.
Worth a credit? NO NO NO I WOULDN'T SUGGEST DOWNLOADING IT IF IT WAS FREE !!
    Hello! Producer, mic check!
How could the performance have been better?
This book was ok. The story line was good, it hooked me right away, but from the first minute I knew this book was gonna be torture. Who ever produced this book didn't do his job. The recording is tinny and has a slight echo. And it's pretty annoying that the narrator puts a Scottish brogue on all the characters, including the one from America.
    Worst book ever!!!
Would you try another book from Belladonn Bordeaux and/or Leagh Bochannon?
Heck no!!! The story line sucked. There was no order in the plot. The narrator was horrible!!! She sounded like she was in the bathroom. And what the heck was up with her brogue? It was horrible! This book had no structure whatsoever. I hated myself for buying this book. If I could, I'll give this author and narrator a negative 20. One star is way too generous.
Would you ever listen to anything by Belladonn Bordeaux again?
    No no no!!!
How could the performance have been better?
Write a different book entirely. And also get a better narrator. Preferably one that can actually read.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
All of the above. I was angry with myself for buying this book. So sad that the author sucked. And disappointed that the narrator could not read.
    Any additional comments?
Don't get this book ever!!!! Even if you are being paid to get it. Don't even dare.

A New Take on The Paranormal
I was thoroughly surprised with this book. I really enjoyed the new take on a paranormal species. I can hardly wait for the second book in this series. Some things remain the same though. Finding your mate and not being able to resist the mating call. However, the rest of the story was very entertaining. There is much still to be discovered in this series, I like the way the author dosen't let on about all the abilities the empowered have so a few surprises are in store. Not to mention the abilities the bad guys possess. All in all a very entertaining read. Not boring in the least.
I had never listened to anything by Ms. Simon before. I must say she did more than a credible job. She was very easy to listen to and her male voices were well done.
    It has possibilities...
This story was a different paranormal story. I purchased for that reason..curious.It had the possibility to be so good. In my opinion the perpetual referral to mating while necessary took over the story in such a way that it was diminishing. And the ending was so abrupt. My thought was "What the heck?" I think it is to insure you get the next one. I don't think I will. The narrator was good, very professional. I think as strong as the portrayal of the men in this story needed a male voice. She was not able to give them the voice strength.
Has the next book been released yet? :-)
I really enjoyed this book because it provided a new paranormal race with a good plot. Olivia was not a totally weak female lead, she had her doubts and suspicions as anyone would. Dageon was okay as the male lead. The build up and setting were nicely done. I suppose if I were to wish for something it would have been a deeper level of psychic gifts with just a bit more action. The intimate encounter for the lead characters had me saying I can't wait until they actually "hookup". When they finally got around to it, it was good but could have been a bit better. ????
A NEW 'MUST HAVE' PARANORMAL SERIES
I wasn't expecting much from this book but I was VERY pleasantly surprised! It had a good unusual paranormal plot that carried you along and, as the story unfolds, it builds to give you more and more with each chapter you listen to. Great characters, each with their own abilities but the writer doesn't give it all away and you're left wondering what else can they do.

Peace was for little girls. And Coalition starship admiral Brit Bandar was one tough woman. A mere intergalactic treaty could never get her to trust the Drakken Horde. There was too much bad blood between the Coalition and the Horde and, for intensely personal reasons, Brit wasn't sure that she was through spilling it! But now a peaceful accord had made Finn Rorkken, a notorious Drakken rogue, second in command on her starship, and - through some grand cosmic irony - front and center in her thoughts... and her heart.
Warleader. Pirate. Either title sat easily on Finn's battle-hardened shoulders. Though second in command to "Stone-Heart" Bandar? That one would take some getting used to. Peace required as much sacrifice as war so he'd comply even if his reaction to the gorgeous admiral fell decidedly outside protocol. But would he end up kissing or killing her if the galaxy's tentative truce turned into all-out war?

Slow Start, but Quickly Got Better
During the first hour or so of listening to this book I was afraid I wasn't going to like it very much. The narration seemed a bit too dramatic and over the top. The heroine is a starship admiral, a rather hard woman, and I didn't really find that appealing. As the book progressed however, the book got more exciting the the heroine loosened up little by little and started to grow on me. The hero appealed to me from the start. He was a strong leader but able to relinquish control, and seemed to be primarily concerned with the well being of others.
Some science fiction can move along almost too quickly, or introduce so many "new" gadgets, gizmos or concepts that it's sometimes hard to make sense of it all. This book kept the tech stuff pretty simple, but was action packed and well paced. I wouldn't recommend it for hard core science fiction fans, but I would recommend it for romance readers looking for something a bit different.
    Blah , boring and predictable.
Save your credits and skip this one. The narrator was good but the storyline not so much

    One of her better stories
I was pleasantly surprised the newest installment of Viehl's Darkyn/Takyn series kept me interested and entertained. So many of my favorite series tend to disappoint me the longer the series continues. Add to that the fact that lately I've been terribly disappointed by most of my selections from Audible lately....and wished I could get my credit back! Not the case here.
Viehl has kept this series fresh for me by bringing in the Takyn and a whole new group of characters while keeping the old ones (the Darkyn) involved. I like most of the Takyn books better than her later Darkyn books. Keep it up! Can't wait to get a little more information about how, why, and by whom the Takyn were created.
If you liked Gabriel & Nicola, Sam and Lucan, Rowan, and Samuel, you should enjoy this installment of the Darkyn/Takyn series. (Yes, I consider it an ongoing project and never really felt the Darkyn series ended). Now where can I find her Novellas I missed (Incarnatio, Midnight Blues)? And has anyone read her teen books...Youngbloods?
    Really good
I've read all of Viehl's Darkyn books and the last two fell down a bit. This one was very good. I listened to the whole thing in one fine day off.
The narrator was prefect. She did a wonderful job with all the voices.
GOOD BUT.... WHERE'S THE PREVIOUS BOOKS???
Firstly, this is listed as BOOK 8 on her website so WHAT has happened to the rest????? I see it's the start of Lords of Darkyn series but it completely throws you in at the deep end as the characters are talking about people, places and events that you know nothing about. Also, there was Kyndred books before this series too which all, unfortunately, have an impact on your total understanding and enjoyment.
However, I just had to suck it up, move on and overlook the fact that I hadn't got a clue to the back-story of the who, whats and whys. A romantic paranormal listen that starts with misunderstandings, murder, myths and a mission with many twists. It was action packed with a nicely described sex scene - there were some witty one-liners from another couple of characters in the book whose story was obviously told in a previous book.
Worth a credit? I like paranormal listens and will continued with the next book so I guess it's a YES - however, if it is going to refer back to previous storylines then I do have my doubts - unless Audible manages to put the entire Darkyn library on the website.
Viehl and Parker, two of my favorites...
...did not disappoint. I always enjoy the Darkyn books. Hope there are many more. Loved it.
    not to sure
this is my listing to lynn viehl book, this book is somewhat of a different approach towards vampires,i kind found first book it was all over the place. vampires this story are sorley laking, then a typical of myth.

What would have made Blood of the Pride better?
nix the male love interest and start from scratch.
What could Sheryl Nantus have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The female hero needed more of a backbone, too willingly gave in to some random dude she just met and tells him her whole story and broke prided laws that sentenced him and her to death because she feels a couple of tinges of lust? i hate weak female leads and this was one of the worst ive read in a long time.
