    Publisher's Summary:
When magic goes wrong, who are you going to call?
The name's Torres, Bonnie Torres, and I'm a paranormal scene investigator - rooting out the truth about crimes of magic. It's dangerous and boring and scary and fascinating. Though not everyone in the Cosa Nostradamus is happy we're around, which can make thingstricky.
Working two cases - looking into a murder for the NYPD, and a rich man's break-in - should be well within our abilities. But when things start getting weird in the Electric Apple, Private Unaffiliated Paranormal Investigations is stretched to the limits, trying to keep one step ahead and out of trouble. Add in rumors of a powerful creature gunning for us and it's not just our rep on the line this time - if we don't solve this case, everyone will suffer.
Fortunately, around here, when the going gets weird, the weird hire us.
    Editorial Reviews:
This paranormal thriller takes on another level of intrigue with veteran narrator Romy Nordlinger giving a sharp performance. Her cool voice picks up the subtleties in Laura Anne Gilman's third book from her Paranormal Scene Investigations series, and drives this complex thrill ride to its surprising conclusion. Bonnie Torres is a paranormal investigator working her way up the ranks at the PUPI, when she is called on to lend assistance to the NYPD. What starts out as just one more case of murder, quickly takes a turn for the weird. Tricks of the Trade is another great chapter in Laura Anne Gilman's electrifying world of magic and adventure.

    Such a treat
    Any additional comments?
While I am not new to Laura Anne Gillmans writing, I overlooked the PUPI series until after the fourth book was released. Finding/noticing a great series late is always a wonderful indulgence for me. I can dive into the new series and spent time really listening to the characters and following their growth over a number of books without getting frustrated by the seemingly long wait for a new installmentehm, ehm, George R. R. Martin (cue the awkward silence). Sometimes, a binge on a new series will leave me never wanting to think about that series again (i.e., Divergent and Hunger Games), but the PUPI series does not wear out its welcome after such gluttonous behavior. If you like paranormal crime, you will enjoy this series and this narrator.

Snagging a marriage proposal for her client while on an all-expenses-paid vacation should be a simple job for Ciel Halligan, aura adaptor extraordinaire. A kind of human chameleon, she's able to take on her clients' appearances and slip seamlessly into their lives, solving any sticky problems they don't want to deal with themselves. No fuss, no muss. Big paycheck.
This particular assignment is pretty enjoyable...that is, until Ciel's island resort bungalow is blown to smithereens and her client's about-to-be-fiancé is snatched by modern-day Vikings. For some reason, Ciel begins to suspect that getting the ring is going to be a tad more difficult than originally anticipated.

    What a great surprise!
I listen to a lot of books on tape. I chose this book because I love Susan Bennet as a narrator and I though the story looked interesting. I have to say I enjoyed this book in a way I haven't enjoyed one in a long time. It was funny, sexy, exciting and frankly a lot of fun. I hope the sequel comes to audible sometime soon!
    Witty
Very entertaining, constantly moving and fun. The humor is excellent I couldn't stop laughing during parts of the book. Great concept for a storyline. Always love to hear Susan Bennet read anything, but she does a great job giving the main character a unique personality. Great book, I plan on listening to the complete series.

It's all been leading to this.
Jolie Benoit has become a skilled agent of the Underlight, relying on her savvy to complete assignments while Sergeant Wesley Haukon was out of commission. But an unexpected clue to the Order of Ananke's diabolical scheme rattles Jolie, and she turns to Hauk for comfort.
It's been years since Hauk took comfort from the touch of another person, though his love for Jolie is deep and powerful. Uncomfortable in his skin, scarred by a terrible fire, he is unable to give in to the pleasures that Jolie so desperately wants to grant him.
Meanwhile, the Order is lurking in the shadows - and when they strike, the blow is swift and terrible. Hauk and Jolie scramble to fight for their community, but with the future of the Underlight threatened, no one is safe. And Hauk will never be the same....

Lived up to the first book!
Nice! I am curious as to why Hawk's and Jolie's team only has one warrior plus Jolie. Hummmmm that part doesn't make sense. I think if you at least had a few more warriors it would add more depth as well as more action. It is not really realistic that you have what is supposedly a war and the other side has an army and Jolie and Hawk only have 2 warriors. Huh?
But, other than that bit of unrealisticness the story is still good and I am ready to listen to the 3rd book! :)
The End is Never the End
First, I would highly recommend you read the first two books of this series before you start with this book. There is a lot of reference to previous characters, scenes, and plots that took place in the first two books of this series, plus they are just fantastic reads as well.
This book tied it up the story so nicely for me. It wasnt a pretty relationship that came together and everything fit like a puzzle. Their story was heartbreaking and warming and ugly and real. Hauk and Jolie had to fight for their relationship with the world and themselves. Jolie had to learn to trust in someone besides herself and Hauk had to learn to let someone love him for him. From the moment I started listening to this story until the end, I was right there with them. Every twist and turn, had my tuning out the world to follow their story. I love Hauk. I wish a guy like him was in my future. He is brave, loyal, generous, very passionate and full of life, despite the events that have happened in his life. Jolie is beautiful, smart, sass and courageous. She is beauty and smarts in a package deal. I will not give too much of the plot away but I will say that I cried.
    Bueno!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but I would recommend to read/listen to the other two books first. This book ties it all together, the first two are "action" "adventure" and "flirting" packed, this was more cheesy romance. I really liked that the author used 3 books to tell us the story, instead of rushing things in one book. Good job!
What about Therese Plummers performance did you like?
I like her sexy voice! LOL
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I blushed a lot, since I was listening to this while driving. I also cried a little bit towards the end.

Gordon Force only had two weeks to go on his job. He was going to be working with his brother Dallas in keeping their alpha safe. But he had a favor to fulfill, a shop to visit and only a question or two to ask. He never expected four kids, two goofy aunts and his mate to walk into his life. Alexis Dark was hiding. Her brother-in-law was a real piece of work and she knew he'd killed his wife, her sister. But no one wanted to believe that he had done it.
The marks on the body were too consistent with that of an animal not a human they'd told her. Well she knew better. When Gordon went to her house to speak to her again she met him at her door smelling like soap, shampoo and oh so lovely sex. She closed her eyes to the almost purr of his voice. It was hypnotic and the most soothing thing she'd ever heard in her life.
When she found herself pressed against him she looked up into his eyes suddenly very afraid and very needy. Don't, she said as he lowered his head to hers. Please, don't. Too late. He brushed his mouth over hers once then pulled back to look at her again. Christ, it's you. This time when he took her mouth, it was to devour her.
    Members Reviews:
Better narration and editing than in first book.
What did you love best about Force of the Dark Wolf?
I liked the family feel of this book, and of this series. There is, to me, an unlikely amount of sex, or really, more like schmex! It's not disgusting, nor a huge downside, just a lot, and my personal preference is a bit less on the physical and more development of the why and wherefore of attraction.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I like the strong female characters portrayed in this series. I Do Not like the spanking kink that is infrequently referred to.
What about Liona Gems performance did you like?
Liona Gem, in this second book, has smoothed out the rough edges of her delivery. Additionally, the music between chapters is gone! Maybe producers actually listened to feedback!!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
An easy book to listen to in one sitting, but that mostly because it was so short. This author has good character development, the narrator has a pleasant voice and does fairly well with distinguishing various people with different voices.
    Any additional comments?
This audiobook should be less expensive than the $13.96 it's currently listed for. Usually books 5 to 6 hours in length cost less. This is a good book, a nice series, but not fantastic.

    Good light romance
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The book is written as a standard light romance. It is not in depth and not meant to be an amazing book. It was enjoyable and a fun description of Ancient Egypt. Nothing heavy, but a good listen.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The time travel is something you have to accept in the book. It does allowed the reader/listener to compare things to modern day, but it leaves the story unbelievable.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Erica L. Risberg?
Anyone or better editing, the recording was awful. It seemed that she could not pronounce the names so there was a single recording that was cut in anytime a name came up. The interruption was terrible and I almost returned the book. The volume level also faded in and out. Whoever was the sound editor and voice coach let this go in a terrible path. It would be so much easier to recommend this if it wasn't such a train wreck.
Do you think Egyptian Heart needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes! Fun story to listen to.
    Any additional comments?
Happy the length was eight hours, anything less than that and I feel cheated.
    Wrong Narrator
What did you like best about Egyptian Heart? What did you like least?
I'm a big fan of time travel books and expected to like this book, which I did. However, the narrator is not right for this book. She does not enunciate properly and reads too fast--her sentences crash into each other like out-of-control bumper cars. She also mispronounced Akhenaten through most of the book (Forvo anyone?). I find it hard to believe that the reader is a professional narrator/voice actor. In the spirit of full disclosure, I should say that I teach public speaking.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Erica L.

It was okay. A prince would not marry a witches daughter. She turned him into a frog. Years later he is a pet. Gets babysat and kissed and turned back into a human. They become a couple. Very short story.

Well it is a good start. I have decided I hate short stories. This one leaves you hanging and wanting more out of the story. Might you consider writing more of their story. Way too short.Thanks.Gwynne

Absolutely the worst narrator I've ever heard.
Would you try another book from Anne Marsh and/or Kellie Kamryn?
I don't even know. I got about 30 minutes in and turned it off. The narrator is AWFUL.
    Any additional comments?
This is a perfect example of how a book can be completely ruined by the narrator. This woman needs to NEVER be allowed to narrate again. She stumbles over her words and sounds like she smokes 2 packs a day. Seriously, the worst I've ever heard, and I work 40 hours a week and listen to books all day long at work. That's a lot of books.
    Story ruined by narrator
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Good paranormal story ruined by narrator
Would you recommend Bond with Me to your friends? Why or why not?
No, I couldn't stand narrator, she sounded like my kid sister. Popping and craclking in the background made the recording sound like a high school production.
What didnt you like about Kellie Kamryns performance?
Lack of emotion... The recording sounded like my kid sister reading me a bedtime story.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment could of been a good story and start to new series.
    Couldn't even finish it :(
Would you try another book from Anne Marsh and/or Kellie Kamryn?
I would try another book from Anne but not from Kellie
What could Anne Marsh have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
get a different reader. I had to stop it after an hour and half.
What didnt you like about Kellie Kamryns performance?
The way she read. I don't know if she was bored with the book. or that she didn't know how to read it. maybe she should practice reading books out allowed first before she does another book.

The narrator needs acting lessons. Her delivery is stilted. Her voice is fine, but she doesn't make the characters sound real. You never feel like you're there.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger that such a poor performance was allowed. And disappointment that the author didn't write a very good story. She didn't make the unbelievable, believable. And the quotes and phrases her characters used were very ordinary and didn't always match the situation.
    Any additional comments?
Divided on whether to try book 2 and hope for improved writings skills from the author. I think this author has many other older books under her belt and this was still bad, so I'm leaning toward not continuing the series. Having the same narrator is also a deciding factor.
    Doomed!
    Dark horror paranormal romance...
Great start to the trilogy, I don't usually go for doomed love affairs but this is handled well, and I listened to this on and off during one day. Keep em coming LK looking forward to the next one in the series.
