Awesome!

What made the experience of listening to Trouble in Mind the most enjoyable?

The plot was really intriguing and the performance was outstanding. So many well-developed characters, yet it was easy to keep them all straight.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's hard to pick just one character, but my favorites include Alana, Gabriel, Jack, Trevyn, Kinnian, and Geneva Tuhawks. Kinnian was not exactly "likeable" but his character was well-developed and precisely performed.

What about Lisa Beacoms performance did you like?

It was all good, but I really liked the intonation of voice for the Dineh characters and the Minertsans. With so many complicated characters, the narrator did a great job of helping the listener keep everything straight.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but unfortunately I didn't have the time to do that.

Any additional comments?

This was such a great listen and captivated my attention for the entire book. With some books, you have to listen for a while before it really captures one's attention, but not this one! Great from start to finish.

Cute, refreshing story

I was given this book free for an honest review. I read this 2nd book first and was hooked. The story of Ben and Layla was short and complete. Nice to see an innocent finding love in a department store. You don't really need to read the other previous books. This audiobook was short and very sweet. I have enjoyed all the books I have read by Becca Fanning and will continue until they are all gone.

Yes, the story has all the right ingredients and was light and fun to listen too. The narrator also did a great job.

I think Ben needs a prelude and more details in this book and all the fabulous characters introduced. This book was like a teaser............hints and glimpses of the characters and their history abound.

Please please please avoid the skips forward, (e.g. two weeks later) I want all the juicy details and to fall in love with these characters and their story too. You drew me in with a perfect storm of characters and events but I missed the build up and deeper connections supplied by a longer story.

A fun read

Barbara Silkstone does not disappoint. This third book in the series is so much fun, running around the palace, trying to find the Herman the Hermit, while evading the palace guards and the witch hunting Caroline Bingley. This third book veers far and wide from Pride and Prejudice, but it is a variation, and many veer. The humor we expect is front and center in the story and at times I was laughing hard enough to gasp for breath, just picturing a drunken Bingley among other scenes. It is wonderful for a quick read and a good laugh. The narrator, Jannie Meisberger, again, does an excellent job with the consistency of voices over the series, but did not have the verve of the previous narrations, although I enjoyed her performance.

I received the audio book as a gift from the author.

Every time Iisten, I hear more detail and twists that I missed the previous time. The characters and situations have a lovely depth to them.

The sideways twist at the end - I won't ruin it for anyone!

This is the third book narrated by Jannie. Her voice is easy to listen to. She does an excellent job with character development.

Funny Read

I received a copy of this book by the author if I would write an honest review. This is the third book in the Witches of Longhorn series.

This book was tons of fun. Barbara Silkstone has one funny sense of humor.

Lizzy and Fiona are going to Prince Regents castle to find the Hermit. While looking for him at the

palace, Lizzy has to do some spells, so that they don't get caught. There is a spell on Lizzy, that she

will turn to dust, so they are under a huge time limit, so that they can get back to Darcy so they can

find a way to undo the spell. Not knowing that Darcy is on his way to help Lizzy in the shape of an owl.

If you are looking for a quick, fun read this series should be on your list!!!

I love Silkstone's imagination and sense of humor! This flight of fancy is the third of the Witches of Longbourn miniseries and wraps up the magical mishaps, and answers the marriage questions for Jane and Lizzie, and Fiona.

Choppy, rushed plot with flat characters.

Needs editing for spelling and grammar. Plot was choppy with jumps between dream sequences and real-time scenes. More of a novella than full length and shallow one-dimensional characters.

Story was ok at best, but the ending was a full on bs cop out. Romance was weak other than a sex scene and magically the H and h LOVE each other at end. It had so much potential in the idea, that the execution was a tragedy. Male lead was more dick than hero, my life is so bad but I am a seal, who NEVER acted like one. Read at your own risk, in my opinion most of these reviews were either bought or from friends of the author.

Scary with a happy ending

This is definitely one of the scariest books I've read in a long time. I was rooting for the good guys from beginning to end. I love shifter stories, but I don't like the idea of them being experiments by Hitler wannabes. I'm looking forward to more books JJ.

4 Platypires

I don't do this very often anymore, but I was given this audiobook in exhange for an honest review. I am a fan of the author, Joe DeRouen, so I already anticipated that I'd enjoy it. Either that, or I'd be incredibly disappointed and it would require me to unlike his fanpage and pretend he never existed in the first place.

I really like how this author does paranormal. It's probably why I enjoy his books as much as I do. It's less vampires and whatnot and more actual demons that are going to cause some crazy damage if they're not stopped. Think an episode of Supernatural, except with a completely different set of characters - and before it became crazy ridiculous. Aka, good times.

I was a bit confused a few times between the switches of characters. There is a lot going on, and a whole lot of people to keep up with. It really wasn't until a few chapters in that I started having an idea of what was going on in the book.

Despite that issue, I felt the story had so much awesomeness that such insolence can be mostly overlooked. Like I mentioned, a bunch of stuff is happening. But it's all brought together in a way that I was both not expecting and pleased me greatly. And isn't that what matters in life?

Krewe Agents On A Cruise

Another very good Krewe story. A killer is on the loose in New Orleans and is chased as he gets on a cruise. Lots going on in this story with numerous suspects, passengers, cruise employees & of course a team of Krewe of Hunters along with a terrible storm. I liked the ghosts, the hero & the staff. Heather Graham is a great writer and this book is no exception.

New Krewe

This is a great standalone addition to the Krewe of Hunters romantic suspense series. Set on a cruise ship departing from the Port of New Orleans, it features local NO FBI Special Agent Jude McCoy, who joins the head of FBI's Krewe of Hunters, Jackson Crow, in chasing a serial killer from a crime scene to a historic cruise liner. The Destiny once served as a floating hospital during WWII, but now is an upscale cruise liner that offers fine dining and talented entertainment. And helpful ghosts.

Alexi Cromwell is the hostess/pianist/singer in the ship's piano bar. She quickly realizes the two new corporate big wigs aren't what they present themselves to be. The ghost who led Crow and McCoy to the ship let's her know that he needs to tell them there's a killer on board.

Jude McCoy had an experience in the service talking to a man he learned later was already dead. There's been nothing like that since, however. Just an almost 100% solve rate on the crimes he investigates. But Alexi recognizes him as a "magic man", what her family calls men who have the same ability she does to see and converse with the dead, even if he doesn't know they're dead. And it's a gift they will both need to stay ahead of the Archangel, who has Alexi in his sights. Especially when a hurricane pops up in the Carribean, knocking out their ship to shore radio and satellite communications.

Kept me reading late into the night

Haunted Destiny is the newest in Heather Grahamâs Krewe of Hunters series, and I really enjoyed it. âDestinyâ refers to the cruise ship on which most of the action takes place, as well as its more conventional meaning of fate. The setting reminded me a little of Agatha Christieâs mysteries set in closed communities (ships, trains, planes, country houses), although of course Grahamâs style is very different from Christieâs.

Really love Anna and Menlo's story

In Anna's quest to find her place with the Avitras, she finds she is at odds with her friend Penelope Ann and Aquilla the Alpha over Menlo's capture and treatment. I loved how she was drawn to Menlo and how their relationship formed. Very compelling and believable.

Some things we do because they are right, not because they are easy

Anna briefly appeared in the previous book, when her sister was searching for her, and that interaction gave Anna a clue about how her hosts treated members of the planet Angondra's other factions... but when the Avitras Alpha takes Menlo hostage, and treats him poorly, Anna comes face to face not only with the question of whether or not she can sit idly by and do nothing when such crimes are being committed, but also if she is trying to find a home with the wrong faction.

A fun, quick read about a strong independent woman willing to adapt to a new world and culture, even as she learns what aspects of her humanity she refuses to cast aside.

I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review, and finished it in Kindle Unlimited after it was published. Books/series like this are why I got Kindle Unlimited, I can devour a story a night, they weave together well, but in the case of this series the stories stand alone sufficiently I believe you could read them out of order, or miss one, and still understand what is going on, the others simply add depth and richness to this world.

I also appreciated this one starting with a prologue that helped capture some basic facts learned in the previous books.

I really enjoyed the story of Anna and Menlo. I loved the sincerity in their connection.

At first I was getting concerned with the way Penelope Ann was turning a blind eye ... her addtitude reminded me of domestic violence victims ,or the woman who marries a man while they are still in jail. So I was happy in the end when she finally stood up to Aquilla.

As for the big stand off with Aquilla, I'm not sure what I was expecting... but I felt the story line was building to something more. Not that I wanted Penelope Ann to be alone or with out a mate. I'm just saying EVERYONE was in fear of where the need for Aquillas revenge would take them. They were prepared to die after all. In the end love does conquer all.

So much potential

Setting: L.A. and Montana

Genre: shifter romance

I liked the premise of the mail order bride, and the plot isn't bad. I liked the characters of Riley and Connor. She is very assertive, while he comes across as shy and slightly awkward.

But there must have been some external restraint placed on the length of the book. The characters could have used more depth, which goes for the plot as well. It seemed like this as like a cake you pull out of the oven too soon: hot, but just not done.

The big problem I had with this may seem petty to some, but there was a lack of proofreading evidenced by the numerous misspellings, poor usage, and overall grammar. Every time I had to correct errors in my head, it dragged me right out of the story. This was only 99 cents in electronic format, but there's still time you may not want to expend.

Wolfie Needs A Wifey

The title is somewhat misleading. The title sounds so bubbly. The short shifter book is actually quite a good story. Conner and Riley meet on a dating site. Actually Conner's father is quite the matchmaker. A very decent plot and characters. Re and re-read the story. Delightful. A few spelling errors but overall, this is a very good and solid book.

I was disappointed in the character development in this story. Even though it was light-hearted there didn't seem to be a lot of substance to the book itself. I've read other of Emma Brooks' novels and just was left wanting more....

Surprising twist

This is the first book I have read from Ellie. I really like her style of writing. She had a good story and plot. And of course who doesn't love HEA stories. I will be reading more of her books and a satisfied customer.

Glad I got this book for free

Very short shifter book. Like other readers I was surprised at how fast Cynthia agreed to be a surrogate for Nick. I guess the shortness of the story demanded that this happen so quickly. Which begs the question, why is the book so short?

Nick is hiding the fact that he is a tiger shifter, no surprise there. When he is forced to shift in front of Cynthia due to a threat, she doesn't take it well. When Nick's life is threatened again, Cynthia suddenly becomes a great knife fighter and manages to save his life and her own. Off to the HEA ending.

This book also contains another short story by the same author. It is called Her Duty to Mate and is a bear shifter story. Sylvie is required to attend a mating ceremony when she turns 18. As her father is the head of the clan she knows she can't escape it. She is surprised to discover that here partner is the hunky bartender she had been ogling just a few hours earlier. When they return to the house after the mating, they discover that her father and cousin have been kidnapped. She and her "soul mate" Sawyer set off to find them. (Sawyer has declared them soul mates, Sylvie is not sure she buys it.)

I will only say that this story is even shorter than the first, and also has a HEA. I found the shortness of it to be an indication that the author was not ready to give her characters any depth. Maybe she will improve on this as she writes more stories. I liked the first story better.

So So First Story, Great Bonus Story

I seem to be in the minority on the Paytiger Billionaire book. It was a very quick read, could have used more character development (if well done more character development would not have been necessary), but overall OK until I got to the end. Talk about dropping from a good read to "wait this can't be over" in a flash. Not to say that the reader can't figure things out and I'm sure others will say they liked the end but I felt cheated because it was so abrupt. I felt like I was missing some finalizing an epilogue would have helped.

The bonus story was very good, hence a bump up to 4 stars. Really good chemistry between two lead characters. Exciting story. Recommend buying the book for the bonus story.

Intricate sexy story with suspense

I loved the build up of this story. The scenario described at the beginning of the financial difficulties faced by so many people began an emotional connection with Cynthia, the female lead. The trouble that falls on Nicks shoulder after his father dies sets up a growing suspense that intrigued me right to the end.
