This sequel has been just as great as wayward. New fantastic characters, intriguing missions and adventures. If you liked wayward, definitely read on through thus one too. It just gets better with each book. I've recommended this book to a lot of people bc I loved it that much

Loved it

I enjoyed all the books, just couldn't get enough of The Swords. Elves, dwarves, goblins and magic, what more could you ask for?

Celestial Downfall Book 2

I enjoyed book 1 of the Celestial Downfall series and book 2 Rise to Hope is even better than the first one. This unique world is different than most books written about Angels & Demons. Here angels are not always good and demons are not always bad.

Narration was good and brought the story to life.

You could probably read book two without having read Fallen from Grace but I would suggest starting with book 1 to understand some of the references to the first book. It is a unique world with a different take on Angels not always being good and a great heroine that has gone through so much to help both angels & hybrids.

Im looking forward to book 3.

As with the first book in this series, the author has an interesting take on angels/demons. This book picks up pretty much right where book 1 left off. I thought the narrator did a good job on this book too. All in all, a good listening experience. I'd be open to book 3 in the trilogy.

World of Angels and Demons

The author has created a world where Angels are not all good and Demons are not all bad, and some have become a hybrid of the two. Sounds a lot like humans. Azrael recognizes the evil in herself, but has chosen to use it for good; to not let it control her.

I dont think you have to actually read book 1 of the trilogy before reading this one, but Im sure it enriches this story. There are plenty of references to events in Fallen to Grace, so you can get Rise to Hope if you have the chance.

I usually listen to audiobooks at 1.25 speed because they sound slo-mo, which is SO annoying, but I did have to slow this one to 1.00 speed to get the most out of the recording. By any chance, is the Alyssa Jewell listed as narrator the same as the author, AJ Flowers?

Did not disappoint!

Once again A. J. has written a non stop action filled angel and demon novel. Rise to Hope is the second novel in the Celestial Downfall trilogy and the storyline picks up right where Fallen to Grace left off. Alyssa Jewell again did a wonderful job of narration, bringing life to all of the characters. A. J. may have to forgo any vacation time this year in an attempt to keep her readers happy by bringing book three to market.

Overly histrionic.

The words and, to a degree, the performance are overly histrionic. I find it hard to believe that I loved Donaldson's books so much when I was younger. Quite simply the protagonist here comes across as so stupid that it is impossible to feel connected to his quest. Having said that though, I still found myself sticking with it and weirdly intrigued at the expanded story that will feature in the latter volumes. I'm hoping this will be like the Gap series, taking a slim first volume set-up into a wildly entertaining expanded story.

I was a little dissapointed that the plot seemed so obvious from early on and seemed a little drawn out ..

Great LitRPG book for people new to the genre

loved this story! Awesome LitRPG with action, magic, stats and leveling, without overdoing the stat pages (the status screen is a cool robotic voice which makes it all the better, too). The various sound effects and voices also helped the book come to life. I have kids age 11 and 14, and this story is one of the few LitRPGs that can pass for that audience: some S-bombs but no excessively foul language; some graphic fight scenes, but no gratuitous violence; strong female characters versus oversexed vixens and casual sexism. I'm hoping there is a sequel on the way, because me and my kids can't get enough of Ravage the Savage!!

great read.

Love the narration. The book had a really good story. The mc had ups and downs instead of pure good fortune all the way through. the character showed actual growth as a person.

Recommend!

this is a well done, funny and interesting litrpg story. I always appreciate a main character who is relatably bad at things and realistically evolves. I really enjoyed the narrator. Very engaging with great effects and fun voices (especially the dragon!). I'm looking forward to hearing more from them both.
