They were quick, fun and easy reads with a nice storyline.
I really enjoy the story line and the plot. There are many times when I feel like the description of what is occurring or even what people look like it's relatively vague. I'm not into the super wordy descriptions but I struggle to picture places like Xilok due to the fact that only the gateway was really described. There were also a lot of typos. They were quick, fun and easy reads however. I enjoyed them regardless
    Addictive fun
Dark Solar is a fantastic series of books and truly enjoyable. I read them one at a time and found them to be totally addictive. I bet anyone reading these for the first time will get as addicted as I did and need to read all of the series' books. That's why this book set is a great deal - you are going to end up buying these anyway so it's great to be able to save money.
Since I read these individually I think it makes sense to review them that way. Here's my review of the books. As a set the books are highly recommended.
    Dark Solar 1 - Oleander
This is a great mystery thriller, but it's not your average gumshoe story. No, our private eye travels the multiverse. I love the mixture of genres and world-building inventiveness in this book. Add in great lead and supporting characters, and a well-written plot with some really thrilling action, and the result is a fun book that's easy to recommend. I'm officially addicted. Now on to the sequel.
    Dark Solar 2 - Wolfsbane
DN Leo's Multiverse really is an ideal place to place an abundance of stories, and she has taken full advantage of this. Luckily she's somehow managed to do so in a way that's consistently well-written and very very enjoyable. That's once again the case with this new Multiverse series, of which Wolfsbane is the second novel. A great mashup of sci fi, adventure, mystery and romance, this book simply works beautifully. DN Leo really has a great set of leading characters in Dinah and Arik and it was a real pleasure seeing how they played off of each other and interacted in the broader Multiverse that she has created.

I Really Loved This Tale Of Hook and Highly Recommend Reading This Book!!
I first saw the Disney Movie Peter Pan as a small girl with my family on the big screen at a movie theatre. Of course I was enthralled with the thought of flying off to Neverland wanting to meet everyone and get some fairy dust from Tinker Bell. But I had no desire to meet up with Capt Hook. This story of Neverland is totally different. Told through the eyes of Hook, before he became the dreaded and evil Captain Hook. This tale shows us the young man living with a job he hates but needs to continue, because like all of us he enjoys a good meal and a warm place to sleep. He is also a dreamer, longing for adventure, a different life than the one he has been forced to keep. This story gives us a look at the good side of Archibald Jameson a young man with a heart. Fate has a different plan for Archie, which is put into place when he decides to take a shorter route home, which takes him thru the shady part of town, near the docks. A storm is approaching and Archie wants to get home before he gets drenched. The storm unleashes drenching Archie, and as he steps thru the doors of a tavern his fate and life will be forever changed. K.R.Thompson weaves a tale of sailing ships, Pirates plundering, treasures stolen, lives changed forever. Her story is very well written, very descriptive, making the reader feel like they are on the ship with Archie and the other pirates. I myself really liked seeing this side of the evil and hateful Captain Hook. A caring young man thrown into a life he didn't ask for but embraced for his own survival. I will be looking forward to her next book in the Untold Story of Neverland.....
A truly gifted author who will make you rethink the story of Peter Pan and Capitian Hook.
Everyone knows the story of Peter pan , Captain Hook, Tinkerbell and the lost boys. However you have never seen the story told like this. K.R. Thompson is a brilliant story teller, keeping close to the original version we have all come to know and adding some twists and turns that will rock your world. Welcome to Neverland and the journey of Archie Jameson as he becomes the dreaded Captain James Hook. Told from the view of Archie ,it is a coming of age tale starting with his abduction to Blackbeard's crew leading up to his hatred for Peter Pan. I must warn you, this is not the happy Disney tale. This is a raw and emotional telling with some dark undertones from the life of a pirate.

This book brings together many different writings that Tolkien wrote of these two great lovers in the First Age. Through a very long story poem, called the "Lay of Leithian", and many different First Age books Tolkien's writings are now put together to help the average reader learn about the legend of Beren and Luthien.
This book isn't a chapter-by-chapter setting but extract of one story into another extract from another. It is beautifully designed by the son of the great author, and a very interesting read.

    Riepilogo Editore:

    Angus does it again!
Would you consider the audio edition of You Die When You Die to be better than the print version?
I did not read the print version. Young kids, a growing career, etc. make it harder than it used to be to sit down and read print. So I pipe the audible book through my car speakers on the daily commute. And bask in the awesomeness of Angus Watson as he spins out another spellbinding tale!
What other book might you compare You Die When You Die to and why?
You Die When You Die isn't directly comparable to any other books I've read. The closest author I can think of that leaves me feeling the same way would be Joe Abercrombie. The unpredictability of the storyline, the depth of the characters, the wild mix of fantasy and humor. It's a delicious goulash of wit, fantasy, rawness, and fun.
What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
My imagination could not create the vast array of character voices and emotions that Sean Barrett brings to the stories. It's like sitting by a crackling fire as grandpa reads out a great yarn.
    Any additional comments?
Angus Watson caught my attention immediately after reading his first book, Age of Iron. He creates these wonderfully complex characters that lack the superhuman features often found in other fantasy books. They have their strengths, don't get me wrong, but they also have their weaknesses. And sometimes, they get killed. It's the constant surprises that Angus throws at his readers that makes his books hard to put down. Villains show a sign of goodness, and heroes occasionally fail. You just don't know what's in the next box of chocolates you open. Other than you can count on a wonderfully complex story, with complex and creative characters, and many chuckles sprinkled throughout.

    Totally engaging and enjoyable
Amazing how someone can take a story that you grew up with, a story you know so well, and tell it to you again in such a captivating way that you eagerly return to recording, waiting to discover what happens next. The writer is an impeccably skilled storyteller. As a performer, he takes a couple chapters to get into the groove and then takes flight. Voices, inflection and varying speed all make this a most riveting listen. I can't recommend it enough.

I received a kindle as a gift for christmas/birthday because I have always loved to read and because I started traveling more and more. I love the amazon kindle that I have. I had an app on my old smart phone because I always wanted to read. While traveling, having my kindle helps kill time during waiting periods, especially during lay overs. I have had some lay overs lasting over 10 hours. Having a plethora of Amazon kindle books to choice from is fun when I get ready for a trip. I selected this book in the middle of a binge purchase and I am glad I did!
I enjoy sinking my teeth into a quick read of all types of genres and being able to just stick my head into a different world allows me to escape from the world and any current stress. I love both fiction and non-fiction, allow the world of fiction reads allow you explore a new place without having to go far. I can read through a 300 page book in two days, I love connecting with a story and a character. There is a great joy from completing a good book. I can read while listening to music or even watching tv. I really do not like when someone interrupts me when I read, I can get so engrossed that I do not want to pull out and entertain conversation. The worse is when people want to talk about the book you are trying to read. If you wanted to have a conversation, you would not be reading. I do not understand why people think it is find to just randomly start conversations that are not needed.
I have found that the kindle fad has started to dwindle, but it is a great innovation that I am happy to have because of that access to millions of titles and I look forward to downloading more as I plan more travels and can travel to new worlds in my head before traveling to new lands.
he is the only one that can pull the super sword etc out of the bag
all the books follow a " hero" who has benn given a bag ( although in parts other people said it was their bag ) anyhow, he is the only one that can pull the super sword etc out of the bag,, anyone else looks in and demons grab them or there is nothing,, book is decriptive in parts.

I hope you have read the previous 6 books or you won't know who's who. With people morphing, it still might be a a test of our memories because this author writes with such veracity that makes it very hard to put this book, e-book down.
Nath keeps fighting the giants and anybody else that is trying to destroy humanity. He's got Sansla, Brenwar and other friends helping him.
There are forces at work which allows Lotuus to get the upper hand and Nath and Selene end up in a very very bad place.

    Good tale!
Good story, but I'm left hanging as I haven't read what went before. I'd recommend it but suggest reading the others first.
Disappeared for now, but totally not gone forever.
This is a somewhat dark offshoot story from the Celestial Empire series. The main character, Ma Shou was encountered in the Six Celestial Swords as an assassin to Xu Liang, in an attempt to prevent the recovery of the Celestial Swords and allowing them to be brought back to the Fanase homeland.
He burnt due to a reversal of his Pyro spell, falling in a river. He was pulled out by the necromancer and his undead companions. Surviving long enough to have his injuries healed, he fled, only to come across Xu Liang ' s army. In return for information on the necromancer, he was moved to the School of the Seven Mystics, as he was not strong enough in body or spirit to survive the journey back to the Imperial City. This is where this story begins. I have voluntarily submitted this review after reading an advanced copy of this novella.
