    Good intro book
Slow at first but the story picks up. Should be a good series. I definitely recommend
    Thrilling series
What made the experience of listening to Wrath of the Fallen the most enjoyable?
To be fair I haven't finished. however the book is captivating and thought provoking. It helped me stay awake on a long drive which is where I tend to listen to audio books. This is great fantasy novel that has kept me enthralled.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Wrath of the Fallen?
I haven't finished yet so I don't know however if the end is going where I think it is, the whole book will be quite memorable.
What about Finn J.D. Johns performance did you like?
I read the complaint about not liking the "ghost whisper" for the characters' inner monologues; however I enjoyed it. I think it was a great addition to the listening experience. I could differentiate between the characters and their thinking vs speaking. To me this was a huge improvement to other audible listening. In some books they make no distinction of thought or voice and that too often gets confusing. It also left out the redundancy of having to say "Trent thought to himself" or "Ren said."
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"The world is out of balance, and only chaos reigns."
    Inner Monologue Problems
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Do you remember the voice from Field of Dreams (if you build it they will come?)
Well the main character as well as several others have these inner monologue parts throughout the book. Not that this is a problem....but the voice is that ghost whisper. That ghost whisper is the same for all characters and makes up about 15% of the book.
Is it bad enough to skip the Audible and just get the book? Almost. By the 20th time you hear it you start to cringe.
    Any additional comments?
Books was enjoyable, I would suggest you stick to print.

    Publisher's Summary:
Fear to the fearless. Hope to the hopeless. Mercy to those who hate you. Death to those who love you. - Prophesy of the Kalian Twins.
In the land of Kale there lies a delicate balance between the powerful temples and the rulers from an ancient, royal bloodline. The Temples are ruled through combat, determined by a series of tournaments. Of these tournament champions, 60 are chosen to become Defendants, an elite team charged with protecting the realm from all enemies. Selection to this team is considered the highest of honours and leadership of the team is decided only once every 13 years.
Princesses Mariana and Ameria, twin daughters of two such champions, are taken as children to separate, yet equally powerful Temples. Through years of rigorous training both are educated in the arts of combat, swordplay, and the ancient traditions of the Temple Gods. Both eventually obtain the rank of Kalian Champions with the expectation of one day serving upon the coveted Defendant Team.
Then, not long after their 17th birthday, the childless King declares that one of the sisters must succeed him as the future Queen. As the race for the throne begins, the sister's long standing rivalry intensifies, leading both upon a dangerous path that threatens not only their lives, but the fate of the very kingdom.
Unbeknownst to the twins, this treacherous path to the throne is the elaborate collaboration of an ancient prophecy and two creatures charged by the Gods themselves ensure it comes to pass. As primeval powers awaken, the two sisters must struggle to learn the truth behind the prophesy and search for a way to change their inevitable fate.

I Knew It was Going to be Better!
This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review."
I blitzed through this book. 2 days or less and I was done. If you enjoyed the first book, I recommend the 2nd even more! I only rated the first book 4 stars all around. This one gets 5. I know the characters, the story, the world. I know the narrator and his style... My only complaint is that there was barely any real necromancy. Yes, of course, the spirits, but I want more necromancy! I can't wait to get back into Malwynn's development there.
Anyhow, I found myself very excited at multiple points in this book and I couldn't stop listening. There were some very intriguing developments and I can't wait to see how Umaryn's ... efforts... pay off!? I want those details BADLY. Bring on book 3! Thanks for the opportunity!
    Thrilling sequel
I thought this was a great story. It is funny, entertaining and reflects well the need to stay organized and on top of things. The short chapters make for a quick read and the authors style of writing allows kids to easily connect with the story. I'm sure this book will also resonate with all the busy parents out there who have eventually found permission slips, grade books and unfinished homework tucked away in the depths of their child's backpacks. loved this sequel to the Wrath of the Orphans. It continued the story on directly from where book one ended and it is definitely a page turner. As the twins continue their quest for revenge, we are taken on an exciting journey of intrigue, action, suspense and mystery. The twins skills in the Way continues to grow, Umaryn receives an invite to join the Guild, love blooms for Malwynn and history, secrets and betrayals are revealed. The narrator did a good job of narration. His pace fit the story well and he gave more of an individual voice to the characters in this book.

Brilliant narrator and author make fantasy breathe
Would you consider the audio edition of The Light Beyond the Storm Chronicles, Book 1 to be better than the print version?
I savor A. L Butcher's works. Their depth and quality, as well as their honesty, are rare. In choosing Rob Goll, the up-and coming Shakespearean actor, Butcher has played to her strengths: author and narrator both excel at myth and drama, and both love delivering a truthful tale. If you like fantasy with a bite, the Light Beyond the Storm Chronicles, Book 1 is for you.
What did you like best about this story?
Let's see: power, love, revenge, all bubble in a cauldron of suspense when an elven sorceress ventures where magic is a crime. Where elves are slaves, our elf girl fights fear and ignorance, personified by the Order of Witch-Hunters and a mysterious nobleman. In a world where idyllic often means treacherous, and slavers lurk behind every bush of a land elves once called home, vengeance brews...
Have you listened to any of Rob Golls other performances before? How does this one compare?
Listening to Robb Goll is a pleasure, and I've listened to several of his audio-books, and loved each, because each performance seems perfectly tempered to the tale he's telling. In his narration of Heroika 1: Dragon Eaters, this flexibility and range is particularly well displayed as he goes from one story, one author, one world to the next, while giving each tale both individuality and connectedness to the whole. Impressive.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I couldn't listen in one sitting, but I found myself sneaking away to listen to parts, until finally I reached the end and wished I had another like this to hear.
    Hard to listen to
All the dialogue is read like little kids doing a play . Really takes away from the story
Had to give up, just couldn't listen to the narrator any longer.
The narrator was especially bad. Way too much sexual description. The story would have been good otherwise.
    Highly recommended
If you're the kind of person who enjoys erotic dark fantasy, and doesn't shy away from graphic scenes, then you'll love this book!
The plot is interesting and moves at a nice pace, the characters are well-rounded and have colourful personalities, and the description is both detailed and well-written.
Also, having both read the book as an eBook, and listened to the audio edition, I can tell you that, not only is the book itself an excellent read, but the narrator of the audio edition does a great job of bringing the story to life.
    dreadful
This is so bad I couldn't finish it.

My name is Sumto. I have met the enemies of the city and prevailed against them, admittedly as much by luck as judgement. I could not have garnered the little success I can boast had I been alone: there is Sapphire, an assassin in the employ of my father; Meran, my former slave; and there is Jocasta, a sorceress of unexpected skill and strength. They all seem to care about me more than I probably deserve.
Still, the influence of the necromancers over the barbarians of the north is shattered and one of their most powerful members dead. There are armies of the city in the north and the enemy has been pacified. All is well, and Sumto assumes he has an easy time ahead of him...until that suddenly seems very unlikely indeed.

Editor needs a good firing but the story is great
The story is awesome. This is still one of my go-to series that I reread about once every five years or so.
The narrator is not bad at all, other than how often she mispronounces words from time to time that would be easy enough to look up.
The editor seems to have barely done his or her job. At one point, in the last chapter, the narrator stumbles and restarts something like 30 or 40 times--even stopping to answer her phone at one point--and the editor failed to cut those out.
    they forgot to edit
There are a ton of outtakes at the end of this recording. Great story, though.
    badly cut unedited
last two chapters were unedited and the reader kept screwing up. badly. you'd think they'd cut those parts out?
    Worst narrating ever!
The book itself was ok, if you liked the previous ones then I'd suggest it. But the narration, although without issues until the final chapters, really skids off the rails then. Several mistakes followed by "Dammit!", coughing fits, an apology that she's tired, even a call from Mummy! It was very difficult to get through it...
    Classic
Better than I remembered. Much better.
Thank you Audible and Megan Mateer, very much appreciated. Your tiredness in the last chapter made me chuckle.

    Enjoyable read
While i enjoyed the entire series i truly enjoyed the narration. Paul Woodson does a very good job of bringing the characters to life. Of course it does help that Kristian Alva has given Paul some great material to work with. Well worth the price of admission.
Disappointed with the change of narrator.
Would you listen to Kathir's Redemption again? Why?
Having listens and read all of the five books before this one and really enjoyed them, I was very disappointed with the change of narrator. I didn't feel that Paul Woodson was as good as Adam Chase at the portraying the characters. His bad accents were really off-putting.

Took me back to my youth watching Harryhausen
If you could sum up Sinbad - The New Voyages, Volume 1 in three words, what would they be?
    Exciting, entertaining and nostalgic
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed the stories overall. 3 separate tales all part of the new Sinbad mythology. Pulp fiction is not what I have been reading so much these days, but this was a wonderful nostalgic trip to my youth.
It was the perfect blend of fantasy and adventure to wet my appetite complete with fantastic beasts, loyal companions and swashbuckling adventures. Sinbad is truly presented as a larger than life trickster hero just as he was intended.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I really enjoyed Sinbad and the Sapphire of the Djinn the best of the three tales. Starting off with his crew angry at his foolishly made bet and ending in a way only Sinbad could deliver, it was great. The twist with the princess was my favorite part though I refuse to spoil it!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
