    Publisher's Summary:
Molly Brooks has faced every foe thrown at her: power-hungry gods, hateful spirits, plotting demons, and everything in between. She has been betrayed, lied to, tortured, possessed, and she has fought her way back from the brink, time and time again.
It all leads up to this.
Two Titans, formerly imprisoned by Molly's family, now walk the mortal realm. The vengeful ancient Nether, finally freed from her prison, longs for revenge against those who decided her fate. And this time, Molly just might not be enough to fight them all, despite having everything to lose.
This is the final installment in the Hidden urban fantasy series.

Does this really need to be the end?
Colleen, this series was an absolute delight from start to finish. I have loved fantasy since I was a young girl. Greek mythology was manditory in my Jr High School and I fell in love with it. You brought it totally to life. You made us all love the good guys, and get annoyed with them as well when they deserved it. You took all the gad guys and found a way to show their weaknesses and sometimes feel sorry for them. Not an easy task. I even wanted to hold Nether as she went to sleep. After millenium of living with so much anger and hurt, it was only right that Molly understood her need and gave her a place to heal.
Like so many...I'm sad the series ended. There's still room with Zoe and her unborn little brother or sister. There's still room for all the serviving supernaturals futures stories. There's still room for Nether to wake up and be reborn...naughty or nice. And what about Gaia? There's still the story of what she could do to help heal the Earth and teach man kind how to evolve without destroying the planet.
In truth, I think I'm feeling sorry for myself that I won't be visiting with Molly and her wonderful world as it continures to grow. She/you taught so many wonderful lessons for everyone to take away from your stories.
Grin, sob, fist pump. Nether has it all.
Some series go out with a wipe out. Others just kind of fade away. The Hidden series ends with a bang equal to the best of a 4th of July firework display. From more plot twists to the wrap up of loose ends, this installment had me all the way. I came to like a character I previously had no respect for, cry for an enemy and fist pump when a group of Molly's sidekicks rejoined her.
This is the best series I have read in a long time. Start with Book One and enjoy the ride. I am excited for the coming novellas that share the story of some of the characters in the Hidden series and the upcoming new series Copper Falls. Which reminds me, one of things I really like about Colleen Vanderlinden's books is that she is a prolific writer who won't leave you hanging for a year waiting for the next installment in a series.
    I loved the characters
The first books that I read of Colleen Vanderlinden's was the Copper Falls Series. That deserves a review on it's own. But I thought I should start at the beginning and started her Hidden Series. I can honestly say the first book wasn't very strong for me but I was captured toward the end. I continued on and was captured and flew thru all 5 books and didn't want it to end.

    Great new series!
I am going to have to continue this series as it is great. The writing is fantastic but there are a couple of things to complain about. There are a bunch of characters to keep track off. I mean a great big bunch. Second the book just ends. No resolution, no logical stopping point. It just ends. In fairness the authors warned about this at the beginning. So be aware that if you start this you are going to have to get all five books to have resolution. I suspect it will be worth it.
    Really Terrific Performance!
    Narration - Kevin Clay - Kick A$$!
Really amazing narration. This book has a ton of character's and he really had unique character voices for each one, without any of them sounding like over the top animated critters. Just Really a terrific job!
The story is really three stories in one all heading towards each other. Really creative worlds with really creative characters so there is a lot to take in and keep organized in your mind. If you are a fan of fantasy, I think you will love this start to what I'm sure will be an epic tale. It does end on a rather large cliffy so be prepared for that.
And, I can't say enough about how terrific this narrator is. Such an enjoyable listen!
I received a copy of this audiobook free of charge from audiobookblast in exchange for an unbiased review.
A Great Start To An Epic Fantasy!
Book one was very entertaining, fast paced with lots of action; however it was the characters, and subplots that had me hooked.
There are three main groups of characters who embark on separate quest and each find themselves in different battles. Some of my favorite characters were Aidan, who was branded a coward but is becoming the leader and warrior he once was. The others in his group are looking to him to get them to safety. Gruesome (really loved the voice) is honorable and liked how he finally accepted Taracs, the necromancer, but not Taracs companion. Then there is the very vain Liam, he had me laughing out loud.
The narrator was A M A Z I N G! For a story with lots of characters, he did an awesome job of giving each character their own voice and accents. Kudos!
In the beginning of the story, the reader is advised this is book one of six and has lots of characters. Since it sounded like there was going to be a lot of detail, I went ahead and downloaded the Kindle version and actually listened and read certain parts of the book at the same time. For me, it makes the story more enjoyable, and I never felt lost or confused.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast dot com.
I really enjoyed listening to this story and will be on the lookout for the next book in the series.
    Very Confusing
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The story started out great! I'm still intrigued by "The coward's " story & his entourage.

Not all sand traps occur on the links, some may be found on a popular beach or lonely stretch of highway.
A sensitive and two ghost hunters walk into a bar. The barman is silent and the barflies long dead. It sounds like the start of a joke, but it's not. An active haunt in a derelict biker bar on Route 66 is a dream come true for the PEEPs team, until it turns violent. An SOS is sent to Mia Cooper, who hits the open road with her ghostly pal Murphy riding shotgun. Together they try to enter the haunted building, only to be repelled by the building itself. They can't get in, and the ghosts can get out.
Courtney Fairchild wanted a rich husband, and she wasn't going to let a little thing like death stand in her way. Hit by lightning as she walked along an exclusive Floridian beach, her soul was fused together with the sand, creating a beautiful specimen of fulgurite, which finds a home at the Chicago Field Museum. Released into the museum, Courtney roams from display to display looking for a way out of her glass prison.
Join Mia and the PEEPs team on an adventure from the cultural confines of Chicago's Field Museum down Route 66 to Lucky's Bar, where evil is always on tap.
Sand Trap is the third novel of the Haunted series.

    Addictive!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I totally would. This series of books are fun. I am bummed that the remaining books in the set are not on Audible (hint, hint). While the books in the Haunted series that I have listened to so far are not the type that keep you on the edge of the seat or have odd twists and turns, I enjoy them. They are a nice escape.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mia. These are basically her stories, and I found myself wanting things to turn out for the best for her. I like her Godfather Ralph, too. He would be fun in realy life!
    Any additional comments?
I enjoy this series, and as I said above, hope that more are made into Audible books. I recommend these for someone wanting some light listening.
P.E.E.P.S. come alive in utter perfection.
What a dynamic duo these two are. (Alexie Aaron & Emily Beresford)
Alexie with her God given talent of writing and Emily with her amazing ability to add life to words on paper. The P.E.E.P.S. crew dance to life in Alexie's words alone but adding the voices to all that we imagine the characters to be, adds a quality that makes it that much more exciting. It's the best of both worlds.
That being said, on to the story. I have read Sand Trap, as well as listened to the audio book. Alexie has a way of laying out a feast for the imagination. We read it, we imagine who these people are. We get to know and love them and find ourselves disappointed when the words come to an end and excitedly wait for the next installment. Good writing is something that stays with you. It is thought about often and takes part in our lifetime of treasured memories. Sand Trap was every bit as amazing as the rest of this series. I have a great love of these funny, outrageous, loveable people in the haunted series. I love the humor, the antics, the creep factor, the anticipation to name a few qualities of this book. I loved it! As always Alexie Chills and Thrills, made me laugh out loud, cry, smile until my face hurt and had me looking under the bed! and Emily.....drove it home.

    On The Road With Alex
The second part of thief Alex's tale, started in "The Penitent
Damned", where she was captured and shipped off towards Elysium,
though she has not yet gotten there, 18th century-ish transport
being what it was. This is narrated by another "demon possessed"
youngster, and also gives his backstory. I would have preferred
more actual focus on Alex, though as she was drugged out of her
mind most of the time, I can see why Wexler chose the second narrator.
I continue to enjoy the setting and an anticipating the next main
    arc book.
    Wexler -- fine craftsman
Wexler is just -really good-. He's got a deft hand with character, especially the layers-within-layers that people usually contain. And the setting of this series combines a deep historical knowledge with an unusually fruitful imagination. Too often authors just throw magic into a setting without seeing how it would -affect- things. Wexler is much better at that.
    Heartily recommended.
    Highly recommended
Wonderful!! These novels are wonderfully written, and despite their length, have no wasted text and have been very well edited. The plot is fascinating, characters well fleshed out and engaging, the world building perfectly done, and I can't wait for the next installment. Highly recommended
    Great!
Awesome little story, full of detail and superb writing. I just wish it was longer. Great insight into the Black Priests - I've always found them fascinating.
another good entry into a fine series
I have been reading the stories in this series since its inception. I have found his characters to be interesting, likable and compelling. Well worth reading.

Grabbed me by the ears and wouldn't let go!
Seemed like an interesting concept to knit to. Two disparate people who learn to work together while learning to help others. In the course of events, they each learn more about themselves. Plenty of action, suspense, mayhem, and strange creatures.
Audio performer, Mr Kafer, does a great job of enhancing all of the characters and their actions. And saved me the problem of how to pronounce correctly!
    The Cult of Sutek
    Any additional comments?
This was a really good book. The plot was interesting and well written.A minstrel who can no longer perform and a warrior maid team up to break out of jail and a few heads on a quest that turns into many different quests.Jeffery Kafer was the perfect narrator for this book..I look forward to the next book in the series.
Something new for the Sword & Sorcery genre.
Another addition to the ever-growing Swords & Sorcery genre, this is a tale not to be passed by. Oh, all the expected elements are there, they just arent quite what one is expecting. We have our warrior, Andrasta, who is a a well-muscled, highly trained half-breed woman with almost no sense of humor. We have our near useless (at the beginning) comic relief Rondel. He use to be a great bard and something of a fop. However, he starts this story off mutilated and having spent too many years in prison. These two make an unlikely alliance, and the adventuring begins with an escape!
Every time I thought this book would take a turn and head down the often-trod trail of mediocrity, it surprised me. Are there maidens who need rescuing? Well, yes but they are also willing to stab your eyes out if you turn out to be with the bad guys. Is there an untried young magician in the group? Well, yes but Andrasta puts him through some really tough & rough training before he has to do any actual battle. Is there a horrendously evil cult that everyone must try to escape from at the end? Well yes, and not everyone makes it.
Plus, there is all this other great stuff going on in the book. Like Andrasta has his huge chip on her shoulder that only she can knock down. But until she is ready to do that, she will just pound Rondel into some semblance of a fighter. Theres this horrible place called the Blood Forest. Yeah, its creepy and hungry, evil things lurk with in it. Of course I want our heroes to have to enter it! So, that was awesome, twice over because they had to go through the forest twice.
Our two main characters had excellent story arcs for a first book. We met them and then they slowly changed through out the book.

LET'S NOT GET ALL MILITARY ABOUT THIS
This is my 873rd review and until now, I have never encouraged anyone to buy a book. Not since Necroscope have I enjoyed a book so much. This is a different twist on the vampire story. This is character driven and just plain different. It sat in my library for almost a year and I see very few people have tried it, probably cause the author is not that well known. Those who did, may not have known what they were getting into and may have had a problem with the sex and violence, of which there is plenty of both. (still character driven) This claims to be the first book in a series and I have checked on line and can not find a sequel. I assume more people need to find it and read it.
EVEN WHEN SHE WAS MOVING, SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS STANDING STILL
This is intelligently written and will make you think. There is sex and violence, but it is not a steady stream of useless fight scenes or chase scenes. The author is female and there is a small love story, but not like any you have read before. It starts as a coming of age vampire story, but is so much more. It is gritty enough to appeal to the man in you and sensitive enough to appeal to the female in you and imaginative enough to keep you guessing.
    Narrator is excellent
    Surprisingly good
Could not put it down. I'm not a big "vampire" fan, but this was surprisingly good. I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

    Creative story
A lot of characters with weird names. Got confused couple of times. Otherwise it was good
I like stories that are creative but need to be longer
A sprawling Epic fantasy in the best sense!
I was a big fan of the authors Demon Squad books, as well as his other work, so When I had a chance to listen to this one, I jumped at it. I can't say enough good things about it It is a sprawling world, With multiple different original races, Magic that is rare enough that when it's used, it is a shock to the characters, and fully fleshed characters with actual motivations that make sense. The main character, Arrin, a disgraced guardsman exiled after an illicit affair with his charge, The Princess of Lathah, which resulted in a child. He has no plans to return, until he witnesses the bestial Grol (think beast form werewolves), destroy a city a few days away from Lathah. He knows he must warn the city, even if it means his death, to ensure that his love and their child can escape. The story only takes off from there. There are other story lines, leading a diverse group of characters to meet with members of the worlds elder race, long thought dead, who themselves are declining due to magic that has become poisonous to them. If this sounds intriguing, believe me, it is, and only got better as the story progressed. The characters are rich, fully fleshed out people, with realistic motivations, who are trying to survive in a world gone mad, or are the ones trying to make it go mad, in the case of the villains. The magic of the world is mostly invested in items, except for the elder race, who can personally wield magic, which is slowly killing them. This book should appeal to any fan of Mark Barnes Echoes of Empire books, or any fan of sprawling epic fantasy. I listened to this at 1 1/4 speed, since John Pruden's narration seems to have longer pauses in it, and this made it much more enjoyable. That's just a preference thing, though. I can't wait to get to book 2 of the series.
Fantastic start to a new series!
The story turned out to just get better and better!
I'm so glad I tried this!

    Great Series so far!
I thought that the character development in the first book was amazing, but book 2 blows me completely out of the water. Reychel finally comes into her own person and it is absolutely beautiful to watch her do so. the story's face paced in it's own way, but absolutely keeps you in suspence the whole way. I was honestly shocked by what she learner about the previous profet and just as shocked as the crowd by her final protect at the end of the book. this series is definitely a must read and unique story. I can garuntee that you will love these books.
    Just as Great
ok i'm gonna say about the 1st half of this book was good... but it was almost like ok what's going on are they just dragging this out... cause now she's in another kingdom having to meet new people and once again trying to figure out who are her allies... but then things start happening and they realize that nothing is as it seems... not even the prophecy about her or Zelor, the original prophet... one of the things i've really liked about this series is that it'll keep surprising you and the ending of this book will blow you away... it was incredible... it kind of makes me wonder if the third book can live up to all that is promised... hopefully she'll keep up the story and it'll continue to mystify and amaze..
Strange book - enjoyed it very much
It took a while to understand where this book was headed. It ended up being a simple love story in guise of special skills of part of the community, and a twist that some were good and some were bad (of course). There is a back story that comes together partway through the book, which is an additional plus. Several turns and twists, delightful.
Yes, I would recommend this to others. This is a trilogy, and you will want to read the second and third, and the next set/trilogy, and on-and on. But, using ebooks, all are quite inexpensive.
    Fantastic!
I read Anathema by Megg Jensen a few months ago, upon finishing I couldn't wait to get to Oubliette the second book in the trilogy. Megg had created such a fascinating world in Anathema that I couldn't wait to read more about it. I bough Oubliette right away, but had to find the time to fit it in. I am sorry I waited so long to get to it because it was just as fantastic (and maybe a little more so) as Anathema.
Reychel had put all her faith in council believing that she was free. Unfortunately she was wrong. Reychel winds up in the Southern Kingdom alone, pushed threw a portal. She is being used as a pawn and not sure who she can trust. Everyone is telling her that her gift of prophecy is amazing, but she finds it uncontrollable. She longs to be able to control it, but the only person who could help her is a dead madman that left journals that may be able to guide her.
