Good book but weird female voice.
Wile I think Ray Porter has an amazing voice and is a good performer, his female voice is really bad and get's you completly out of it. He tries to make some kind of soft tone, but it really doesnt match the actitud of the character.
Too bad, this would be a 10/10 if it wasnt for that.
The story itself is a simple one. Has a fan of the Iron Kingdoms I did emjoy it.
    Just too short
I liked the Characters and the setting, but it was just too short. Note that I'm not saying short stories are not good. The problem here is that the story felt very compressed. It jumps from fight to fight with not much story building in between. Even the ending felt very hastened and unfinished.
it does contain a short preview of book two which I did enjoy. sounds like some of the issues are resolved.
    Fantastic
I very lovely story and packed full of steam. Clearly a listen worth more then once.

    A fun listen
As a fan of the game I picked this book up knowing I'd enjoy it.
I loved the referencing of the book for the monsters, we have joked about this in our games.
I enjoyed following the main characters on the travels through this adventure, very much like an Indiana Jones just for moster hunting.
    Good story for IK lore
Okay story line but a bit abreviated. Voice performance was okay over all but could have been better for Pendrake's character. I was not blown away or underwhelmed. Just a good story for fans of Warmachine and Hordes.
    Class is in sesion
Follow proffessor victor pendrake on an amazing adventur. Full of dareing. And mean beasts waiting

The third volume in Attanasio's epic re-creation of the Arthurian cycle follows young "Arthor" through his first difficult year of kingship. Drawing liberally from both Norse and Celtic mythologies, the author adds his own cosmic embellishments to a story that spans not only the island of Britain but the lands of faerie, the Otherworld, and the spaces between the stars as well.

    talking animals and magical creatures
I loved this story and am going to listen to it again. I sometimes wished for a list of characters, but I was mostly able to follow it. it might have been better served to have a cast like the author's previous fabulous work "The guild of the cowrie catchers", but I'm not complaining too much. This story is set on another continent of the same world, and has its own court intrigues, national alliances, and character development. Its not as sensitive a character study as TGotCC, but it is more layered and intricate than " Hunter's Unlucky". All three works are probably my favorite audible works to date. Sorry Tim Butcher & James Masters, you have been dethroned.
    A Magical Read
The author has done it again! Ms Hilton has created a Wonderful World with a cast of Amazing and worthy characters. Magic, fantasy, intrigue, mystery and romance...this trilogy has it all! Who wouldn't love a story with talking cats!
I am obsessed with this trilogy and all the others
I love this author and her stories. I listen and read ll the time. I cannot wait for her new material to be released!
    Unique world of fantasy!
Where does The Prophet of Panamindorah rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
If you love fauns, pegasus, talking animals and all the wonderful mythical beasts in fantasy literature - get ready for something new! It's a wonderful world where they rule, and a young man falls into it and has to learn everything the hard way. Think Narnia as a young adult novel. My kids and I loved it and listened to it as a podcast first and now an audio book. Perfect for a teen who loves animals. The large animals are of human intellect and can talk. The world has politics and intrigue and mystery - it is a book the whole family can enjoy.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Prophet of Panamindorah?
Panamindorah is populated by beings that are half human and half animal. Hilton calls them shelts which are like fauns, but many more types... top half human and bottom half goat or half sheep or half wolf or deer or horse or fox. My kids loved this idea so much they were shelts for Halloween!
    An extreme pleasure and treasure
If you could sum up The Prophet of Panamindorah in three words, what would they be?
    Whimsical, engaging, and.

    It was okay...
This was an, er, interesting? book. I enjoyed the last third more than the first two-thirds...but I cannot honestly say why. There were too many grammatical errors, true, but I read a lot of original fiction and have gotten sufficiently used to it that it rarely affects my enjoyment of a story too much. Though I will confess that the repeated erroneous use of the verb 'to lie' was jarring, I don't think that was *my* problem with this book.
It took me two attempts to read this. I started this story a couple of years ago and abandoned it but even as I re-read it, I couldn't remember why I'd abandoned it. I was determined to complete it this time...and I did...but it took me three weeks, primarily because everything seemed a reasonable distraction: 'ooh, look, junk mail - I should sort through my junk mail...I'll continue reading later.' Yet there really wasn't anything in particular I could tell you that I did not like about the story - I liked some of the characters, especially Him (The Hunter), I liked the world building, I didn't mind the plot, particularly...I wasn't even bothered by the rushed 'romance'. For some reason this book couldn't keep my interest...I just didn't care.
If I really try to find something specific I didn't care for, it might be the main character. We are told that she's strong and intelligent but I don't feel that we're shown that. Most of the good things that happen because of her, happen despite her - they happen because she happens to exist, not because of any deliberate action on her part. She is not a completely useless damsel in distress, thankfully, but she is quite dull and disappointing as a hero.
(POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT) The one thing I can definitely say that I didn't like is something that I don't think it's obvious throughout the story. In fact, it's really only mentioned once about a third of the way in when we are told a prophecy. It wasn't until I finished reading the story and got to the set up for book 2 that I really thought about that part of the prophecy and thought, 'uh, wait, what? That's it?' The main character's role in the story is to be a broodmare.

    Give us more Mr. Larson!!
Where does Dream Magic rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I have listened to this entire series almost non stop, it is that good. The characters are well build, their purposes are clear and you are left craving more.
What did you like best about this story?
The Interplay between the characters and it provided a simple end to the series. It does seem a little manufactured but if you have listened to the series you understand why it has to end here.
Have you listened to any of Mark Boyetts other performances before? How does this one compare?
Mark Boyett and B.V. Larson are made for each other. The store is beautiful and Mark Boyett breathes life into the book, it is like watching a beloved show but with your ear instead of you eyes.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    I was craving more!!
    Any additional comments?
Mr Larson, i have read a number of you books. Please write more of your Undying Mercenaries series, bring some of your other fantasy series to Audible. The Haven series was great and now you have left me wanting more.
These books should have been 40 hours long!
What made the experience of listening to Dream Magic the most enjoyable?
It went far away from the normal fantasy books that are soo boring most of the time.
I love the Folklore angel to things since they breed more mystery into the story than the normal "we live for 1000 years but never get anything done" type elfs and so on.
What other book might you compare Dream Magic to and why?
To be perfectly honest i dont know any other books to compare this to and im trying to find them. Closest iv read so far would have to be Monster Hunter internationall but the comparesen is minimal.
What about Mark Boyetts performance did you like?
Mark Boyett are is by far one of the best narrators out there and i hardly ever even listen to the sample before i buy if i know its him doing it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending without a doubt. Some people might not like it but i thought it was great.
Had me in tears at one point (even when knowing what was going to happen).
    Any additional comments?
If you read this BV Larson please make more of these Folklore fantasy books.
Even start up another Haven book series since this is by far the best fantasy iv ever read (i thought the lord of the rings series was boring.. couldnt even get thruogh the hobbit).
    A great story
A final conclusion to a series I've fallen in love with. A magical world of good and evil with everything in between.

Very good, well written, look forward to book 2!
    Exceptional
A very well told story. Expanding on the first installment and leaving me wanting much more. I am waiting on the remainder of this fascinating tale with much anticipation.
Phenomenal follow up, better than the first
I liked this even better than the first in the series. It corrected the first book's silly omission of a map of the world with a good map. It also developed the already likeable characters and added intriguing new ones. This is a well-plotted, surprising and fun series and I am glad that it is improving as it goes along.

    Publisher's Summary:
It has always been John Omally's secret ambition to become a rock star. In his youth he mastered air guitar and wardrobe-mirror posing, but he lacked that certain something. Talent. But at last an opportunity has arisen for John to get into 'The Industry'.
A band called Gandhi's Hairdryer are looking for a manager, so all John has to do is persuade them that he is the new Brian Epstein. It should be a piece of cake. But - and there's always a but - there is something rather odd about this band. Something other-worldly. It might be the lead singer, whose voice has the power to heal. Might she be an angel, perhaps? Or could she be the Devil in disguise? Because, after all, the Devil does have all the best tunes. And this is Brentford.
Robert Rankin describes himself as a teller of tall tales. The Morning Star describes him as 'The Master of Silliness', and his publisher describes him as The Master of Far Fetched Fiction. He is the author of more than thirty novels, of which he has sold millions of copies, and he makes people laugh around the world. Robert loves going on tour, signing books for readers, and his appearances at signings and conventions are legendary, often including a stand-up routine, a song (accompanied by his 'air-ukulele'), and an always-entertaining question-and-answer session.
    Editorial Reviews:
Robert Rankins blend of zany humor and fantasy shines through in this performance of his own comic novel Sex and Drugs and Sausage Rolls.
Rankins novel stars two slacker "blokes" named Jim Pooley and John Omally, who decide that their path to glory will come from managing a band called Gandhis Hairdryer. Along the way, they meet time travelers who create an alternate world in which the Beatles are still together and the Queen has been assassinated. Other gags in this installment of the Brentford Trilogy include a shopkeeper who invents a unicorn and a fortune teller who can divine the future by reading male anatomy.
Rankin is a delightful performer of his own work, inflecting his dialogue with comical characterizations and irreverence.
    Critic Reviews:
"Stark raving genius...alarming and deformed brilliance (Observer)

    Rock -n- Rankin
Robert Rankin pulls out all stops in this Brentford adventure! You have good vs evil, time travel, mythical creatures, the Beatles, the return of Soap Distant from the center of the Earth (which is now pretty much run by the Virgin corp.), sex (not really), drugs (occasionally) and sausage rolls?... Well, I guess there were a couple of biting incidents in the book which could be interpreted as involving sausage, so to speak... Small Dave is there and Norman and Neville and even a lady in a straw hat. The only reason I could never go higher than 4 stars is the awful poetry that worms its way between each chapter. Ugh.

    Terrible Narration
Worst piece of narration that I have suffered through to date!
Good story, but will not continue the series due to the narrator
It's just what you want in a hero
If you could sum up Renegade Rising in three words, what would they be?
    Fast. Action. Fulfilling
What did you like best about this story?
The age old but never cliche hero that comes from nothing but finds out he's so much more.
Which character as performed by Sonny Dufault was your favorite?
    In this book it's Falcon.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The part where even though Falcon is covered in crap he still manages to give Gisbo some fantastic fatherly advice. It was humorous and moving.
    Any additional comments?
J.C Fiske starts off his series with a BANG. Fun characters and an interesting story will keep you coming back for more.
    Loved!
    Any additional comments?
I heard about this series through a friend and I am so glad I did. If you are into action/adventure/fantasy books, then this is the right book for you!! I don't want to give anything away so I will just say this- if you are looking for a book to entertain you and one that you wont want to put down- look no further than this one. Enjoy!
Wouldn't recommend even on a sale
The narration for this book is one of the worst I have heard on audible. Sonny Dufaut is simply a horrible pick for this book and sadly his name is on the four sequels at this time. The voices do not fit the characters very well, but it is hard to tell because the writing was not that great either. There are some elements there which make it seem like this could be a good book. The story is about a world full of meta humans who have out lawed and hunted down a certain class of their kind. The main character is an orphan that was left to the care of a society who suspects he may be one of those outlawed classes. The writing was a little immature and there were too many parts that made this feel like a children's book. What is worse is the dialog that doesn't seem to fit right for these character. But most importantly for me is I didn't care much for the main character. He came off too brutish and appeared to have a chip on his shoulder.
Terrible narration and simply not a book made for audio
Would you try another book from J.C. Fiske and/or Sonny Dufault?
It's hard to say when they both seem to be made for each other... And in turn ruin the whole thing so throughly. But yes I would.
