February 09, 2024 Commanders Hire Brian Johnson, Jason Simmons As Pass Game Coordinators | Super Bowl LVIII Prediction
The Washington Commanders made 2 more coaching hires this week, 1 on each side of the ball as a passing game coordinator.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Commanders have hired Jason Simmons, who worked with defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. in the past with the Green Bay Packers, and then did some more pass game work with the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Commanders have hired Brian Johnson, former offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles this past season. Before this season, he was the QBs coach for the Eagles, working closely with Jalen Hurts for 2 seasons. He also worked with Dak Prescott at Mississippi State, so yet another offensive mind that has experience with good NFL quarterbacks to join offensive Kliff Kingsbury, who has worked with Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, and Kyler Murray.

Washington Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn was unveiled to everyone in his introductory press conference. He sat in between Josh Harris and Adam Peters as they all answered questions together about team identity, aligned vision, and what Dan Quinn learned from his time at Atlanta.
The Commanders also hired Dan Quinn’s defensive pass game coordinator in Dallas, Joe Whitt Jr., to be their defensive coordinator. KDot calls this the most underrated move of the offseason! Do you agree with him? Amit is also fired up for this hire, citing Whitt’s experience with Green Bay, Cleveland, Atlanta and Dallas.
The Commanders weren’t done there. They also hired Kliff Kingsbury, former Arizona Cardinals Head Coach, to be their offensive coordinator. This was a highly publicized move due to his relationship with USC QB Caleb Williams. Will the Commanders move up 1 spot in the NFL Draft to select Williams?

The Washington Commanders introduced Adam Peters as the new General Manger of the franchise today! Josh Harris and our new ownership group got their man to begin the rebuild. It marks a new beginning for a franchise marred by poor decisions on and off the field from prior ownership.
KDot and Amit provide what happened at the press conference, what the takeaways are, and why there are reasons for hope and optimism moving forward.
Adam Peters suggested that the focus will now be on the Head Coaching search.
