Dive Cuts returns for a new episode after two games this week for the Mizzou Basketball team. Sam and Matt dive into the expected results this week, but also take a look at the stout defense Mizzou is showing, while also looking at the offensive woes that many are seeing to start this season. They also preview next week’s tournament, which hopefully means Mizzou is playing Butler and Oklahoma, right?! Let’s dive in.
Episode Breakdown:
:15 – 12:20: Welcome back to another episode of Dive Cuts! After a brief talk about Maine, let’s transition to Mizzou Basketball. Mizzou dropped their first road contest to Xavier, but has played two games this week within 3 days. Those results were expected this week, but that stellar defense is looking very good. The offense is a little rocky in some parts.
12:21 – 23:11: Missouri’s lineups this year have been interesting to watch and what kind of personnel Cuonzo Martin uses at certain points. What’s stood out most there?
23:12 – 33:30: Mizzou has a tournament coming up next week and Butler is the first team up. Here’s some good nuggets on Butler and what you can expect!
33:31 – 39:04: IF Mizzou takes care of business against Butler, they will likely take on Oklahoma the following day, which is better if you are a Mizzou fan because that will be a much better test than Stanford. Let’s talk about the Sooners. The way the SEC has started in basketball, getting quality wins early is looking more and more important.
39:05 – 42:35: Looking at the schedule ahead of next week, you get into the “late semester drag” if you will. So next week is something you need to enjoy until Temple and Braggin’ Rights in all likelihood. Note: That could relate to Dive Cuts recordings, although it will probably still be weekly!
42:36 – END: Final thoughts/Predictions after Sam did some general scheduling and clean-up. And Dive Cuts will return next week after the Tourney in KC wraps up!
