Black Forest Cheescake
Ingredients
20 OREO cookies (remove the cream center) crushed fine, about 2 cups
(If you are using a larger flatter pan to bake use 3 cups of crumbs and 4 ½ Tablespoons butter)
3 Tablespoons butter (melted)
4 8oz packages Philadelphia Cream Cheese (softened)
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Breakstones sour cream
6 squares Baker’s semi sweet baking chocolate (melted)
4 eggs
2 to 3 cups COOL WHIP whipped topping
2 cans 21 oz cheery pie filling
PREHEAT oven to 325
1 cheesecake baking pan (spring form)
2 Mix cookies crumbs and butter and press into bottom of baking pan
3 Bake for 10 minutes
Mix
1 Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
2 Add sour cream and chocolate
3 Add eggs one at a time, mixing on slow speed, until well blended
4 Pour into baking pan over crust
Bake
1 80 minutes (plus or minus) in deep cheesecake pan (9” diameter x 3” deep) until center is almost set. Remove from oven and cool. (if using other pan adjust baking time)
2 Refrigerate at least 4 hours, overnight is best
3 Remove cheesecake from baking pan and place on serving dish
4 Cover entire cheesecake (top and sides) with COOL WHIP
5 Pour pie filling into strainer removing about 1/2 of the syrup (no not crush cherries)
6 Place cherries over the entire top of the cheesecake
