Brand New!! On Friday, Jan 26, I was honored to be on the opening roster for Dutch Trance Superstar, MARK SIXMA, an Armada label veteran and regular on ASOT with Armin van Buuren himself, so it was a real honor to be able to meet and share the stage with this rising star in the Euro Trance scene!! As I have said so many times in the past, it's so often truly impressive and refreshing to me that these globe-trotting DJ stars are so humble and friendly in person, and also to see how much they like playing at The Underground, which is such a tiny club compared to some of the huge venues they play in around the world, but time and again they are blown away by the energy our Seattle Trance Alliance audiences bring to the Underground, and so often they play for hours past last call when clubs usually shut down; pretty special thing we have going on here in Seattle!! For this show I had the 10:45-11:30 pm time slot in between my two good Trance DJ buddies, Randall Glenn and Marc Pospisil (MarQ), and the sets were recorded live at the club which is always a cool bonus. I tried to pick an interesting blend of punchy Prog Trance blended with some uplifting Prog House and a few select vocal Trance choons that I have been listening to lately, and the crowd was so much fun during my set, showing a lot of support for the locals, which I really appreciated SO MUCH!! On Friday, Jan 19th, 2018, I was honored to be on the opening roster for a truly classic and household name for anyone who’s been listening to this type of music since the far earlier days; iconic UK record producer and DJ, CHICANE. This was a sold-out show and it turned out to be an absolutely mesmerizing and magical evening with SO many people and fans of all ages who came out to see Chicane weave his progressive magic. I had the middle 10-11pm opening slot in between two of my favorites in Seattle, Janice Chae a.k.a. J-Note and Eric Weber a.k.a. WEB, and we literally had the dance floor full all night with these enchanting sounds and people having the greatest time; it was truly a night I will never forget. I hope you enjoy the set! =)

Brand new, I've been working on this one for a while, a collection of spine-tingly 138 BPM uplifting and euphoric Trance, just in time for the kick-off of holiday season! Featuring mostly brand-new (or at least fairly recent) releases from some of my favorites artists in the genre, plus some bright new names to the scene as well, but the common denominator is every single track on this 70 minute set majorly gives me the chills and I hope it does that for you too (haha!) On Friday, October 27th, 2017, I was honored to be on the opening roster, along with my good buddy and fellow Seattle Trance DJ, Derrick Gennrich, for one of my personal favorite Trance DJ/Producers from yesteryear, an Irish Trance DJ/Producer visiting Seattle all the way from Wales, Mr. PURE himself, Richard Mowatt, commonly known as SOLARSTONE, at the Underground. This is actually the 2nd time I was lucky enough to open for Richard, and just like the first time, it was extremely humbling to share the decks with such a Trance legend, and whom also happens to be a very humble and engaging guy in spite of his fame. It was an absolutely awesome night, the Friday of Halloween weekend, so there were lots of Solarstone fans and friends of mine in the audience, many with their Halloween costumes on, incredible vibes throughout the entire evening, and Richard ended up playing an absolutely mesmerizing set into the after hours nearly until the sun rose the next morning. I had the early 10-11 pm opening spot so set out to play a beautiful and melodic progressive set with some Trancey overtones here and there to set the evening up right. On Saturday, July 22nd, 2017, I was incredibly honored to be one of a handful of local Seattle DJ’s to be invited to spin a set at a party that has become a bit of a legendary institution on the East Side over the past decade, Chris Paape’s annual Cabana Party on Lake Sammamish, Washington. Chris is a friend, former workmate, and fellow DJ buddy that has been playing around Seattle for as long as I have lived here, coming up on nine years, and this is an annual party that he has had for nearly as long, always at the end of July. Sadly the tradition is coming to an end as Chris sold his condo on the lake, making this party extra memorable and so many great and long-time friends came out to party with us in the summer sun that day. This was an incredibly beautiful and crystal clear summer afternoon in Seattle with a warm breeze coming in off the water, and was a pretty surreal view to play from, looking out across scenic Lake Sammamish. I’ve been to this party many times but only played at it twice, and got to share the decks with many well-known Seattle favorites, such as Mr. Paape himself, Jason LeMaitre, Marc Pospisil, Travis Colvin, Dirty-ish, and Sean Henderson. I came prepared to play an hour set but as fate would have it ended up playing for almost two hours, and I spun some brand new melodic progressive plus some faves from past sets to try to create a magical summery vibe for the party. This is "most" of my set from a day I will never forget, and I hope you enjoy it!! -Mark

On Friday, July 21st, I was honored to be on the opening roster for world-renown and beloved Progressive House Pioneer, GAI BARONE, visiting us all the way from Italy for the “Elements” Progressive House show at the Underground, Seattle. This was an incredibly fun show to play at, and it was so great getting to meet Gai and talk to him for a while before my set to get his perspectives on music production and the Trance/Progressive scene on the world stage; he was such a humble, witty, and charming guy, and it was an incredible honor to be able to meet him and share the stage with a true master of the craft. That type of stuff never ceases to humble me and pretty much have pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming haha.. Anyway, as with most of my opening sets at Underground, the openers only get 45 minutes so I wanted to use the short time I had to create a beautiful, ethereal, and uplifting atmosphere with some lovely Deep and Progressive to get the CDJ’s and club warmed up, so this is what I ended up playing for an amazing crowd of lovely people. Hello my friends! Well.. I’ve been gone a while, but I’M BACK (haha!) My job has been taking a lot of my time lately with lot of travels etc, plus I recently bought some new DJ gear, which sat around in my office useless and collecting dust until just recently when I had some spare time to get it set up and start playing on it. I have had a few shows lately, and those sets will be up here soon, but I thought it appropriate for the Maiden Voyage of my new gear to record a live 138 BPM Hi-NRG and Uplifting Trance set!! A recent trip to Bainbridge Island and a photo I took from the ferry of the Seattle cityscape across the Puget Sound inspired the name of the mix, “PACIFIC SKYLINES”.. This is mostly brand new stuff, or at least fairly recent, plus an awesome Solarstone remix of a Gai Barone track to pay homage to the Italian Prog master that I recently opened for in Seattle (set from that show forthcoming), a Mega-euphoric mashup of a Darren Tate/DT8 Project CLASSIC vocal Trancer vs. one of my more recent FAVE Trance producers from Russia, Ultimate, and a whole bunch of other incredible and spine-tingly tracks that I absolutely LOVE. Brand new!! Just in time for Spring I finally got around to recording the latest iteration of my Uplifting and Euphoric 138 BPM Trance demo sets, something that started off as more of an inwards-focused novelty, since I so rarely get an opportunity to spin 138 live in clubs, to record just a couple sets to get some of my favorite Trance tracks and classics on the airwaves so I myself could enjoy them once in a while.. But as it turns out the 138 BPM'ers are amongst the most listened-to podcasts on my Soundcloud, so apparently I am not the only one who likes them, yet another sign that TRANCE IS NOT DEAD haha!! Anyway, for this one I really went back to my roots for that ethereal, uplifting, spine-tingly, jaw-dropping, euphoria-inducing Trance sound that back in the late 90's got me into this music in the first place, and I have some incredible, BRAND NEW tracks on this one, as well as a couple classics from the old record box from the likes of Menno De Jong and a great new remaster of "Flyin' Amongst the Stars" by Lennox. I entitled this one SUNGAZER for the coming of Spring, and the feelings of hope it brings when life renews and the days get longer, and once in a while you might find yourself gazing at the sun as it shines down upon the world. On Sat, Nov 17, 2012, I was invited to be the guest DJ for the 2-hour spot on Jason LeMaitre's Progressive Saturdays show in the Blue Room at Trinity Nightclub in Seattle. Jason is is a well-known DJ in Seattle and he had been a resident at Trinity running this renown show every Saturday for several years, and it was such an honor to be a part of it. This was a very memorable and special night for me because it was my very first live show in Seattle since I had moved there for work a couple years before, plus I had a ton of friends show up for the show that I wasn't expecting, plus it just happened to be one of the most packed nights there in a while, so needless to say I was pretty nervous but it ended up being such an amazing night with such great vibes that I will never forget. It's always been on my bucket list to re-record the playlist from this show, so I final;ly re-purchased all the tracks as lossless AIFF files (the original set was played from CD's on CDJ1000 MK3's before the the CDJ2000 era) and spent a whole Saturday a couple weeks ago recording the entire set three times, and chose the best take for this podcast. It's funny to listen to the mix now because it is kind of a time capsule of so many huge tracks that were taking the scene by storm in 2012 with artists like Arty, Matt Zo, Audien, etc, so you'll definitely have some blasts from the past with this one, but hopefully there are some new tracks you've never heard before on this as well. This set went from 11pm to 1am so I took it from 126 all the way to 135 BPM Trance by the end of the night with so much energy in the club as the night waned on. Great memories indeed! Decided to record a new chill proggy-deep demo set to kick off 2017, sort of in a holding pattern in between shows, but meanwhile the music keep flowing endlessly and I can’t sit idle for too long haha.. I intended this mix to be a more ambient and Deep set, but did some genre blending and kind of started off more progressive and transitioned over into Deep House territory and then back into some lovely Progressive Trance for the last 5 or so tracks.
