Brand New!!! On Friday, September 18th, at Club Contour, Seattle, I was honored to be invited to be a part of a show put on by a local promoter/DJ, Bobby Lilly, a.k.a. Digital Ascension, called The Sounds of Trance. This particular night was also extra fun and special because it was centered around kind of a Northwest Trance celebrity’s birthday, Johnny Monsoon, so the club was full of friends and Trance fans that were all there for the music and to hang out with John for the festivities. It was an absolute pleasure to once again spin with Mr. Monsoon, along with Digital Ascension and Binaural, all of whom had fantastic Trance sets that night. I was up first so wanted to put together a nice subtle lead-in set to kick the night off right, and this ended up being one of those sets where I absolutely LOVED every track so much, I still get the shivers numerous times throughout this one, each track is brand new, no classic Trance on this one, every song was released in 2015, and probably half of them in the past month or two, so it is the cutting edge of the hottest, freshest, most melodic & euphoric Progressive Trance out there, and it was pure magic to play live. On Sunday, August 2nd, I took a stab at recording this mix, which was a collection of nearly all brand new, beautiful, exhilarating, and euphoric 138 BPM Trance tracks which I had put together for a set that I wanted to entitle "MAJESTIC" in tribute to the late Cecil the Lion. I ended up only doing one take of this recording, so just one pass, but liked how it turned out, but you can be the judge of that! I was hoping to capture a certain feeling of light and dark, beauty and melancholy, happy and sad, but also a sense of hope, brightness and wonder shining through, the way these animals should make us feel, especially when they are alive.. On Saturday, June 20th, 2015, I was honored to be invited to be a guest DJ for the PLAY SATURDAYS show at Whiskey Bar in Portland, OR, my old stomping ground and my home that I moved away from over six years ago, was so great to be back. On top of that I got to play a B2B set with my good friend and DJ mentor, Dj Zoxy, huge DJ talent and icon in the NW Trance scene, and I think our two styles of Trance came together to make a really beautiful mix. Our set was one of three B2B sets that night, which was kicked off by Portland DJ’s Rubin Sarafinchan and Kyle McDaniel, and finished off with two other huge Seattle DJ’s, Eric Weber a.k.a. DJ WEB, and the one-and-only, Johnny Monsoon. The crowd that night was incredible with so much positive energy and everyone was totally into the music on that hot summer eve, truly was an awesome night that I will never forget. Brand new – just recorded this live on my CDJ’s on Sat, June 6th, the latest in my series of 138 BPM Trance demo mixes, this one I entitled “SUNFLARE” due to this mix being loaded with uplifting summery tracks with huge melodic breakdowns and spine-tingly drops, plus it being the kick-off of summer and the hot weather starting to kick in here in the Pacific NW, perfect for driving fast with the windows down and euphoric 138 BPM Trance blasting on the stereo.. This one has some brand new tracks, as in JUST OUT, seasoned with a few classics from yesteryear including one of my all-time favorite Trance tracks ever, EVER, the EPIC Super8 remix of Mirco de Govia’s “Voller Sterne”, literally brought tears to my eyes when I played it after not having heard it for many years. Brand new demo mix, been experimenting with this one for quite a while, this mix is comprised of tracks that are much slower in BPM than I usually am able to play in a club, but over time I have accumulated quite a few tracks that I love that are between 110 and 120 BPM, and have been toying with a mix just so I could record it and listen to it for my own enjoyment, so thought I would share. It took a surprisingly long time to find the right tracks that were close enough in BPM and key to mix together, but after many different attempts, finally came up with this playlist and recorded it, and I am pretty happy with it, kind of a journey through sound with some really beautiful melodies and a little bit of 80's sounding synth riffs here and there, but fairly uplifting and euphoric sounds all the way through, so here it is.. On May 16, 2015, I was honored to be one of the opening DJ’s at Foundation nightclub, Seattle, for two up-and-coming DJ/Producer stars, LOST KINGS from L.A., and Swedish DJ/Producer, Prinz Adrian Johannes Hynne, better known as ADRIAN LUX, along with AUDIOH and EMERGE warming up the decks beforehand. It was a totally awesome show, and a super fun set for me to play because I had a lot of friends and workmates show up to see my set which always makes it more memorable and exhilarating to be up there behind the decks. I am a huge fan of Adrian Lux and this was actually the 2nd time I’ve had the honor of being an opener for him in Seattle, the first time having been the Foundation NYE party two years ago, Dec 31, 2013, which was an incredible time as well. Anyway, only had 40 minutes for this set, so loaded it up with some deep, melodic and euphoric House, spiced up with a little Progressive. Hope you enjoy! -M

On Saturday, April 25th, 2015, I was honored to be on the opening roster for UK DJ/Record Producer that I have been a huge fan of for many years, Stuart Langelaan, better known as LANGE. This was my second time opening for Lange in the past 2 years which was an added bonus and just like I found out the first time at Whiskey Bar in Portland, on top of being an incredible DJ and producer of such well known early-on hit Progressive tracks as “Songless” and “Angel Falls” as well as some of my favorite Trance remixes ever like Firewall’s “Kilimanjaro”, he’s a super nice and humble guy who makes friends wherever he goes and always remembers everyone the next time he’s in town, very unique for a world-famous DJ that is a regular on such world-renown shows as ASOT and ABGT. I also got to spin with two guys that I am a big fan of, and resident Foundation DJ’s, FooFou and MarQ, so it was an amazing night, and as expected, Lange’s set was off the hook with the most cutting-edge Trance, totally awesome show. I had the early opening spot for this show so I set out to make this set a very euphoric and chilled-down walk through some soul-enriching Progressive House with some amazingly spine-tingly tracks and crystalline piano riffs that sound like they are being played from the top of Mt. Everest to the Heavens haha.. I hope you enjoy the set. -Mark
