On Friday, December 20th, I was honored to be on the DJ roster for TRANCEMAS 2019 at The Underground, Seattle, for a holiday party to kick off the holiday festivities!! We had a cool crew of local NW DJ’s assembled for the night, including special guest DJ visiting us from Portland, OR, and a very good buddy of mine, ZOXY, and between the four of us we did our best in taking The Underground into the Trance stratosphere! For this show I was on from 11-Midnight tried to put together a rather euphoric journey in sound, heavy on Anjuna-esque melodic and uplifting, proggy Trance with a smattering of new remixes of classics and a blazing hot bootleg mash-up of Arty & Reflekt that I’ve been dying to play for years. Met some really cool people at this show including a contingent of the Alaska Trance Family who were down for the Deadmau5 show the night before and who came by the Underground to party with us, it was a super fun night.. On Friday, December 12th, I was incredibly honored to be the main opener for Finnish Trance music duo Miika Eloranta and Janne Mansnerus, better known as SUPER8 & TAB, at Ora Nightclub, Seattle. I’ve been a fan of these pioneers in Trance for so many years, since the early 2000’s, and also have had the amazing luck and good fortune to be on the opening roster for them 3 times so far, plus have seen them perform numerous other times, but getting to hand the decks off to the Miika & Janne themselves this time was a particular thrill for me. The crowd at Ora was jam-packed with awesome Trance fans and playing this set for them was also a very memorable experience that I won’t soon forget with lots of high-fives and sweaty hugs afterwards, really an EPIC evening, and of course Super8 & Tab blew the roof off for the remainder of the night and into the early morning with their unique blend of euphoric and banging CHOONS and original productions, what a night and great way to welcome in the Holidays! Hope you enjoy! Speaking of Holidays I will be playing a another set this weekend at Seattle Underground for the TRANCEMAS show, and also heading down on Portland, OR, to DJ for NYE 2020, so stay tuned for more mixes to follow, plus been dabbling with an end-of year uplifting 138 BPM demo mix to keep with traditions.. On Friday, September 27th, I was honored to be on the guest DJ roster at a 2-stage event for the 2nd iteration of the Last Supper Club Reunion Night featuring DJ’s spinning Classic Progressive House on the upstairs Box House stage, and full-on funky House music on the downstairs stage at the Underground. This night was a total BLAST, and it was such an honor to share the decks with Seattle DJ legends Scott Keith, Chris Winebarger a.k.a. Chronus, and I was able to do yet another B2B set with Johnny Monsoon, one of my original faves and major inspirations for me to DJ in the earlier years, so much fun and so many familiar faces from yesteryear came out to the reunion show making it all the more special… This night started upstairs with 30 minute sets by the 4 DJ’s (I was up first, followed by Scott Keith, Chronus, & Johnny Monsoon) which was followed by Chronus/Scott Keith B2B, followed by Johnny Monsoon and me B2B, and finished the night off with all of us B2B together until the club closed…just a blur of memories of so many incredible songs I haven’t heard in way too long, and a bunch of sweaty hugs and high fives from all the great people who came out to support the show. Definitely will be remembering this one for a long time. For this recording I played my original 30 minute opening set, plus mixed all the tracks I played for the remainder of the evening. I added in 2 tracks that the other DJ’s played (marked with an “*”) because they fit particularly well with the tracks I played, wish I could have played them all but many were rare and unavailable to buy anymore, some unreleased white label mash-ups, etc, couldn’t recreate the entire 4 hours of this magical eve, but you’ll get the picture of the vibe. I was finally able to play some tracks live that I have always wanted to play live which was such a thrill, including a very rare gem, “Twisted” (Riva Remix) by Dreamcatcher, brings back so many great memories from the early 2000’s… I hope you enjoy the set as much as I did playing it, Cheers! –Mark a.k.a. On Sat, September 7th, 2019, I was honored and SUPER stoked to be part of the lineup for the 2nd iteration of the ANJUNABEATS Tribute Show down in Portland, OR, at the Whiskey Bar. The first Anjunabeats Tribute show put on by Mission Trance Promotions happened at Whiskey Bar back on Nov 10th of 2018, and this was an incredibly magical night with a completely packed, almost sold-out house, and this second one was exactly along the same lines, totally packed with the coolest bunch of friends and Anjuna Trance fans - the positive energy and Trance Fam vibes were palpable with everyone there to hear the beloved uplifting and melodic sounds that the Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels have brought to us throughout the better part of past two decades, SO much fun to play this music and watch the expressions of joy on everyone’s faces.. For this show we had Vincent Thomas Calabrese, Evan Alexander, Zoxy, and finally me wrapping things up from 1-2am. Since I was the closer this time around I decided to go FULL-ON CLASSIC Anjunabeats Trance and bring it up to 138 BPM, and had the pleasure of sorting through all of my old files and spent hours and hours listening to pick out the exact right tracks, which was so difficult to choose out of so many favorites, but it brought back so many great memories from between 2001 to about 2014…SO many tracks I wanted to play, but these were the 12 that were played on this amazing eve and I was in absolute Heaven the entire time. This is some of my favorite music on the planet from back during a happier time, and I love how it just takes me back again and again and fills me with hope. I hope it does that for you too.. On Saturday, July 20th, I was honored to DJ for the third time at a very special party and beloved, semi-underground, cult-classic Seattle DJ institution that has been around for many years, the Chris Paape Cabana Party. This party used to be held every July on the deck of a marina boat house on Lake Sammamish and had a long-standing core crowd of friends and DJ’s who would attend and/or play a set for this super fun event overlooking the beautiful view of the lake. Two years ago we had what we thought was the “farewell party” to end the tradition because Chris was moving off the lake, but this year he decided to have a reunion and invite back all the same people and many of the DJ’s that were the staples of parties-past, and hence the “Return” of the Chris Paape Cabana Party happened and was held at a really cool bar called Suite Lounge in Bellevue, which had this amazing outdoors veranda courtyard, so it was super fun to play at, and also the summer weather was just perfect that day for an outdoor DJ event. I had an hour so I tried to think a nice blend of recent faves and a more Anjuna-sounding set that would lend a peaceful and atmospheric outdoor afternoon party vibe, and here’s what I ended up with. On Friday, July 19th, I was incredibly honored to be on the opening roster, along with my good buddy, Eric Weber a.k.a. WEB, for world-renown Serbian Trance & Progressive producer/DJ and honestly one of my favorite artists of all-time, VINTAGE & MORELLI, for his debut US tour with the Silk Music Showcase # 500. I have probably played more Vintage & Morelli tracks in my sets than any other artist, and have always been fascinated and mesmerized by his ethereal, haunting, melodic style, mastery of the angelic piano chords in his tracks, and always building in that infectious hook into his songs that just tug at your heartstrings in such a wonderful way!! Marko Cubric (V&M) was such an amazingly sweet and humble guy, and I had the opportunity to chat with him for about 30 minutes after my set and ask all the questions I ever wanted to ask, and really tell him what a huge fan I've been of his music! It was definitely a “bucket list” DJ night for me. The crowd was so incredibly AWESOME that night and I really tried to put together a down-tempo, ethereal, and atmospheric set that would really set up the night nicely, and was really happy to see so many people out on the dance floor dancing during my time behind the decks. On Friday, June 14th, I was honored to have been asked to play a Trance set for the SEATTLE TRANCE FAMILY APPRECIATION NIGHT, along with 9 other DJ’s divided between two connected clubs on two stages, one downstairs for Psy Trance at The Underground and one upstairs for Progressive and Uplifting at Box House. This event happened during a huge and widely known NW EDM festival called Paradiso which happens each year out at the beautiful Columbia Gorge Amphitheater (where Above & Beyond has their ABGT shows) attended by 25,000 people, so because of that and that many of the people who ordinarily would be coming to these clubs were out of town, the promoter had a Trance Appreciation Night for those who didn’t attend Paradiso, so it wasn’t the most packed house I’ve ever played to (haha) but those who were there were smiling ear to ear all night and it still was a SUPER fun crowd of beautiful Trance fans and an awesome night of amazing music with a bunch of great DJ’s. I had the closing set on the main stage so obviously showed up intending to blow the roof off with a rare chance to play a blazing Hi-NRG, Uplifting Trance set, which I loaded with spine-tingly, 138 BPM classics or remixes of classics, and a few of my more recent faves. It was 52 minutes of Heaven on the dance floor mixIng my absolute favorite music in the world on a huge sound system. Hope you enjoy the set!! Mark a.k.a. Gotek =)

On Friday, May 31st, I was incredibly honored to be on the opening line-up for two Finnish Trance producer/DJ’s who’s faces are renown around the world in the global Trance scene, Miika Eloranta and Janne Mansnerus, better known as SUPER8 & TAB, at the SOLD-OUT show at The Underground, Seattle. I felt incredibly fortunate to be opening for them for a 2nd time in my DJ career, the first time several years ago, also a sold-out show at a much larger club in Seattle which is no longer open (Foundation), but to open for them at The Underground which is a much more intimate venue with an amazing sound system and where the entire crowd can get up close to the DJ’s and really feel connected to the music, was just indescribably awesome. I have been a fan of Super8 & Tab since the early 2000’s when hits like “Helsinki Scorchin” started making the rounds on ASOT and the like, and it’s been runaway train for them ever since with hit after hit, and they have been such a big influence on the scene, truly was an honor to shake their hands and hang out on stage with them, total crowd pleasers and professional performers. The energy with the crowd was so positive and upbeat all the way until the club closed and the uplifting beats and sweaty dancing continued on into afterhours….what a night!! Also got to share the decks with two amazingly talented Seattle DJ’s, Marco Howard Valencia and John Adam Espinoza a.k.a. EMERGE, and we had a lot of fun up there getting the audience revved up.
