  • #61 Wolf Pack Mentality with Hector Rodriguez
Hector Rodriguez isn't afraid to DO BIG THINGS!  I really enjoyed our conversation where we talk about Life changes, Life goals, the wolf pack mentality which is something he really personifies as well as ultramarathon and living that double digit life. Hector gets out and runs a minimum of 10 miles almost every single day and he talks about how much that has benefited him and his fitness and how he translates that to everyday Life.  Hector completed the Moab 240 last year and is going for the Triple Crown this year which is no joke!  Listen up, Hector drops lots of knowledge here.

  • #59 Going to the Paralympics with Kyle Coon
After a lifetime as a competitive athlete, Kyle Coon is taking on his toughest challenge yet — to compete in the 2021 Paralympics in Tokyo as a blind triathlete.
I had so many questions for him. How does someone who is completely blind compete in a triathlon? Well, Kyle is the man to talk to. He’s completed marathons, Ironmans, the RAAM (The Race across America) and many others.
While he isn’t the first blind person to climb a mountain, run a marathon or compete in a triathlon, his goal is to be one of the best and ensure he isn’t the last.

  • #58 Flying High with Avery Collins
Avery Collins is a professional ultra runner out of Silverton, Colorado.  He's done some of the biggest and baddest races on planet earth and he isn't slowing down.  In fact, he's flying high!  I distinctly remember when he came onto the ultrarunning scene. He said he was going to do all of these audacious things in the years to come and one by one, he did them all.  He’s not just your run of the mill ultrarunner either. He thinks outside the box and that’s what I love about him.  Give it up for my man Avery Collins.

Ashly Winchester is a writer, podcaster, mountain guide, ultra runner and so much more.  She currently holds 39 FKT's (fastest known times) to her name and she isn't slowing down any time soon.  When  we recorded this episode, she was gearing up to go for the Death Valley FKT which is a 160 mile sojourn that doesn't sound too easy by the title.  You can find her podcast Womxn of the Wild on all major podcast platforms and you can find her @ashly.winchester

  • #56 Bikepacking and Fastpacking with Justin Simoni
Thanks for dropping in for another episode of the DO BIG THINGS podcast.  My guest today, Justin "The Long Ranger" Simoni is a bikepacker, fastpacker, climber and FKT setter.  He once hiked all of the Colorado 14ers, linking them up by bicycle. Then, he took it a step further and hiked Colorado’s 100 highest peaks, also, linking them all up by bike. These are wildly ambitious efforts that hopefully inspire listeners to get outside and DO BIG THINGS!  Get ready to hear about some epic human powered adventures.

  • #55 Blazing the JMT Among Wilfires and UFOs with Abby Hall
Thank you for dropping in to the DO BIG THINGS podcast!  My guest today, Abby Hall, is an ultra runner from Boulder, Colorado.  She recently completed the John Muir Trail in a smoking fast 4 days and 11 hours.  That's a 211 mile mountainous trail that takes most people 3 weeks to complete.  We cover a lot in this conversation including how she got into running ultras and the highs and lows that come along with that, setting big goals in the mountains and how to overcome your fears and even...UFOs. Yes, Abby had a UFO encounter while she was out on her JMT adventure, I couldn’t wait to hear about it.  Life is short, DO BIG THINGS!

  • #54 Celebrating DFL with Jon Beard
It's better to be DFL at an ultramarathon than not finishing at all.  After all, it's not about what place you come in when you're running a hundred mile race.  It's about FINISHING!  This week we are celebrating the folks who are out on the course longer than anyone.  The folks who are fighting cutoff times every step of the way.  The folks who aren't afraid to come in last place.  Last place is still a finish and I respect it as much or maybe more than the winners.  My guest today, Jon Beard, has finished DFL a couple of times.  That being said, he's 66 years old and has run over a hundred ultras in the last 13 years.  C'mon man, you've got to respect that!  Thanks for tuning in.

  • #52 with the King of the FKT's Jason Hardrath
Thank you for joining me for another installment of the DO BIG THINGS podcast!  Today I chat with the man who holds more fastest known times than anyone else.  He is currently at 83 of his goal of 100!  The more I think about it, the more insane that really is.  I had a blast talking to him.  Let's wish him luck as he goes for 100.  If you want to find him, look him up at jasonhardrath.com and you can find us at big-things-crewing.com.  Life is short, DO BIG THINGS!
