Things all go a bit pantomime as we welcome Ian from 4000 Holes podcast to discuss phone holders, away game smash and grabs, inconsistency, reduced playing budgets, Venky’s chicken farmers, Bank of India imposed financial restrictions, team and squad fitness and medical departments (including the very pleasing phrase “perma-crocked”, chastening results, January transfer window prospects, playing young players earlier than might be ideal. Neil joins us from platform 6 of Preston station with a sore leg and way of detecting train stations using sonar it seems! Neil refuses, as ever, to conform and tries to give man of the match to the whole midfield! Despite a lack of sleep, he is full of beans due to the result, the atmosphere and some lovely stewarding at Deepdale and even starts singing at one point before naming “Edo the Truck”!

Tim joins us having completed his chaplain duties for Ascot United but enthusing over his other yellow love and feels more connected to the team once more seeing effort and commitment as typified by Ken “King of The Wall” Sema. Finally, we remember a Watford FC chaplain who made a move to Manchester United – having presumably been able to turn down Champions League chaplaining!

Ben joins us having recently got engaged and asks where all those goals came from having expected the first half to be repeated! Alan joins us and beats Ascot United v Met Police for random non-league game of the season and sets us a Geography quiz question! The location of the game turns out to be another part of the UK whose accent Alan can’t comprehend (the radius of this is about 20 miles from Alans house it transpires!). More cheese discussions as we discover Fulham tried to emulate the cheese board success of the day until everything is gazumped by black pudding being served in a cold finger buffet!

Briefly returning to football via the 5 word reviews with little or no adherence to the 5 word rule

Mal, Steve and Mike call in post the 2nd leg of the Cheese, biscuits and Jack Daniels on the return journey having conquered the Nigerian curse and helping (perhaps) a 5-1 away win before reading through the long form reviews including more about Southern US chicken recipes! Final thoughts are to the captain of our rivals who suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch today.

First part of the mainly unedited fan reaction after arguably the performance of the season away Deepdale coming back from an early goal to run out more than comfortable winners. Sean joins us we start taking a tally of the Away Player of Half Season so far, RichWFC2 takes out Mrs WFC2 for dinner because of the spooky correlation with away wins when he does! Mal, Steve and the nearly banned Mike join us as we find out about how Cheese, Jack Daniels and other assorted items may or may not break a Nigerian curse and allow Mike to attend keep attending games - Pete investigates in a way that he only does with food! Wendover is all enthusiastic the closer we get to the transfer window opening plus of course the game! Robbie joins us and is pleased to have a likable team back once more and asks are we starting to get our club back by having a harder working team and Jack finishes off with tales of travel across the US!!!!

Sean joins us and asks if we didn't play rather poorly against a well drilled Ipswich team, not happy with the midfield and Kone especially, Wendover comes on quite philosophical about the result bearing in mind the insistence on playing out from the back? Admiring of some of the Ipswich line up and we discuss a Lou Orns recommended striker currently at Wimbledon, as we start looking towards the window opening in January. Speaking of the window we talk briefly about the departure of the second Sporting/Technical director in a few months to the new man who is also the old man - Gianluca Nani.

Neil joins and remains quite positive about everything and especially Asprilla who seems to be becoming more robust and Championship ready. Neil asks for the attacking plan B to be used earlier or even out of the gate on occasions.

Pete tries to work out how he feels about the performance and the result whilst Alan and then Charlie come on and accentuate the positives and look longer term, Alex feels that Rajovic does need to give us more in open play and Pete compares him to Hirst of Ipswich who offered an all round game where as Rajovic is simply a goalscorer and if doesn't score does the overall team suffer. Benjamin Bloom and John Parslow join having combined (strangely) to predict the score for Johns Backgammon team ironically knocking the EFL (who Benjamin was actually playing for) off the top of the table!! Ben looks at the game as objectively as ever (describing the result as a coin flip) and sees Andrews, as a neutral, as a "baller" whilst taking time to appreciate where Ipswich are sitting atop the Championship table - and fair play. John concludes that he isn't downhearted or worried about any of the teams we have played this season if we do get to the playoffs - and yes that is a big "IF".

We catch up with Ollie from The Butter Pie podcast and hear about Preston's season that started like the clappers but now have 2 wins in 11.

The prediction league is worse than ever and John drawing 1-1 is contentiously given a point penalty if the result is 1-1 which mean he will only get 2 points!! It doesn't make any sense to us either but involved the words "secondary roll". Miguel Britos and Tom Finney are compared and contrasted. After many abortive attempts we finally came together last Friday night to get the update on the stewarding from Carlos. We then went through some questions from X/Twitter including club culture, Top Gear, Spice Girls and Wind in the Willows. What actuallyis Mileta Rajovic? Fry Days and Ultimate Fighting Chickens, Yellow Brick Road, murals, mosaics and fan zones, commemorating the Hospital/Club partnership during the pandemic, Hamer vs Bachmann vs the Captains armband, Badly Drawn Watford, Hornet Haikus and generally having a laugh, plus have we moved forward, back or stood still (according to Pete its a rollercoaster that does all and none of the above) Finally the tale of woe that was us trying to come together to record this nonsense that was hindered, we suspect, by some of the 597 years remaining of the Nigerian curse including Carl sitting in the dark!!
