Alan bemoans the level of squad we have, Ron does what Ron does and points out the captain can come off his line but only to get a yellow card and calls out the owner and says talk of players and tactics are pointless until there is a regime change, Jason talks through the first goal and how the very basics of defending are killing in games.

Wendover comes on feeling rock bottom and seems to think that Elton John might be listening and implores the former chairman to be the catalyst to a buy out. Boyd comes on and gives critique on the team and Jobi McAnuff collectively and individually. Charlie is a combination of angry but composed having called this a while ago and asks how long the supporters will tolerate the current trend but implores any supporter activity be considered and collective.

Danny comes on having attended the match feeling so sad as to not be angry, that the players should put on such a listless unorganised display. Alex points out the emotion trough the fans are in at the start of October. A lack of leadership and discipline is decried plus are certain players performing below par because they are not droppable due to the paucity of the squad.

Greg thinks the manager is trying his best but does not warrant a new contract, but points out the status quo can change very quickly for good and for bad, Gary refuses to use the word “bastard” for comic effect despite - Pete imploring him to do so – as its too early but instead points out how pointless contracts are in football generally and Watford especially and therefore feels that Ismael will go in this or the next international break. We explore whether who makes the club statements might increase or decrease it’s likelihood or certainty.

Hornets1992 adds to the collective frustration of the evening and the season trend. We ask why the pressing from the front has seemingly stopped and with it any intensity of play. We go to Darren in Australia who despite his lack of proximity to the club can now join in the suffering of everyone from the other side of the world!! We’re not sure we have improved Darren’s mental health as a result but he says thanks anyway and we have a positive experience story about the song “I just cant get enough!”

Carl and Pete are left hanging without the opposition for the first time this season, Justin is still on holiday but electronic Justin is still here and we have to apologise for a mix up on the Fantasy League. We discuss Valerien's new contract extension, where Scott Duxbury gets his coffee and why this is just the same madness manifesting itself in new and unpredictable ways!!

The prediction league is, eventually rescued, yet again, by our EFL Ambassador and Star of "Where's Kev" - i.e. Kev!! John gets a record banning grudge off his chest and Jarvis is now doing his own shout outs!! Carlos is upset to be being outperformed by Justin and a Dog - not necessarily in that order!! Justin and Pete select the only options they can't in a level of incompetence that even this podcast is ashamed of!

We discuss last season and a certain Play off semi-final and how good it is that them up the road are experiencing the potential misery that is the jackpot prize after promotion for all the promoted teams’ last season! We discuss Sunderland’s sad Premier League seasons and our nightmare opponents until we finally convince ourselves that we’re glad we didn’t get promoted.

Pete starts off on another manager he doesn’t like for no apparent reason before Ant takes us through a strange pre-season for the Black Cats. We cover off the easy to dislike Russell Martin (what with his good hair and all!) and add him to the list of managers we don’t like for no reason. We question if Sunderland could really have kept Ross Stewart.

The prediction league goes as badly as we have all come to expect with the highlight being Carlos trying to remember the bands, he knows who have come from Sunderland before Pete and

Carl spots a conspiracy as Sunderland will get an extra night to recover as Sunderland will be most likely putting an end to Xisco’s reign at Hillsborough on Friday night!!!

As Justin's not here we decide to bring everyone up to date on the Fantasy league and it looks like Justin has done a runner!!!

John supports the manager but asks if Ismael is overreacting to poor performances by individuals, Pete asks why we are not pressing upfront or playing at a high tempo as had been expected from an “Ismael side” where has the intensity gone? The full back role and performance is reviewed.

Rio comes on and regrets the respect we gave them and the gaps in midfield and, despite being the better of the two forwards, the Bayo miss in the first half. Rio would like to see more of Chakvetadze but ponders who drops out of where to accommodate him. Reviewing the season so far Rio sees us either dominating and not scoring or scoring and conceding because he was so open – before hitting us with the new that he was sat 2 seat away from Mogi Bayat (Bayat has not signed him up as a player)!

We join up the Ion family in different cars and see if we can start a family feud on the basis of who should start up front! Gary asks why play Louza if he doesn’t seem interested, we go across to Danny, - a shake up in midfield is suggested to increase the work rate. We compare Jake Livermore’s contribution with that of Jonny Howson at Middlesbro and discuss the lightness of fit midfield options and quality. We go to arbitration Jack to decide who should start up front.

A confused Blue Cheese Brett joins to inject positivity and insists that the hire manager/sack manager routine should stop, he asks if Louza could play deeper in midfield in the Will Hughes role. Leboffski asks can we just hang in there and build slowly and organically over a couple of seasons – and then panic!

RichWFC2 joins us deeply concerned that the team is rudderless following an encouraging start to the season. Seeing little to get behind he is deeply concerned for the rest of the season. Wendover decries the lack of a “nasty bastard in midfield” and the recruitment overall. Rajovic is described as a Trevor Senior type of number 9! That’s telling! The first of many to question Imran Louza’s contribution and motivation but certainly not the last.

Charlie joins and reiterates the comments made and pins the blame ultimately on Gino Pozzo for recruiting the recruiters. A big advocate of Martins this season is frustrated that “Plan B” saw him dropped to the bench and, as Valerien said later thought the formation change did not work. Finally when asked Charlie firmly rejects the suggestion that Valerien should be changed in the forthcoming International break. We like this. We ask if Daniel Bachmann loud and assertive enough in organising his backline?

Pidge joins us and makes a call for Porteous to go back to basics and concentrate on his primary defensive duties and calls for the squad to show the required level of discipline.

Sad news relating to Nigel Callaghan’s mum sees Neil and Peter remember the heady days of him delivering crosses from the right wing like they were laser guided!

Justin’s on holiday so Carl and Pete talk to Ant from “Haway the Lasses” and “Roker Report” about the womens game away at Sunderland on Sunday. We hear about their last season and pre season and what formation we might expect to see.

Pete talks through our season so far and how we have started playing early on in the season.

Does playing occasional games at the clubs “main” ground help boost attendances and how glee did Ant have in his voice when he told us they beat Newcastle Ladies?

We discuss who each team have nicked from Oxford United and find out which player reminds Pete of a French International Centre Back.

We even think we may have found a YouTube channel to watch the game on and Ant thinks we should try to commentate until we explain how it went last time!!

We catch up again with Jonny from the Boro Breakdown podcast and find out about their player departures and a some less expensive and less experienced arrivals. A tricky start to the season for sure but are Boro on the road to recovery after a win vs the Saints, how is Michael Carrick considered. We find out about a different Al(ex) Bangura and here about the sustainable/development model that Boro are adopting and the formation they are playing this season. Pete once again enthuses over fellow old person John Howsen and once Carl’s alarm stops interrupting everything, we find out about the midfielder’s Indian summer.

The prediction league is its usual triumph of persistence over wisdom as Jarvis throws a tantrum and makes demands of Ben, John enjoys the delights of Sheryl Crow in a Bayo tribute prediction and Jonny confesses to liking Cocker Spaniel content (Jarvis likes this). Top of the table Justin decides a policy of trying to copy bottom of the table Carl is a good strategy and Pete may or may not be wearing pyjamas.

PART TWO - We start with Wendover taking out Mrs Wendover out to an Indian restaurant in Leeds named after the Jungle Book and then inspires how we are going to give away the Monkey Forest tickets! Greg was impressed with Leeds Ampadu and we ask does Rajovic need to change, or do we need to change to make the most of Rajovic? Greg concludes that sometimes you get beaten by the better team.

We’re joined by Pete suggests that Gino’s plans are an elaborate ground hopping attempt to tick off all the remaining stadiums visited of the 92 league clubs! He goes on to state that the plans of the management of the club are now outdated and unsurpassed by other clubs. Finally, Freddie Adu gets a mention (Peter was highly delighted!) and described as the original John Bostock! Pete asks if the ownership has learnt anything from his mistakes.

The Big Lebofski turns up with a list of subjects to go through!!! This includes nightclub advice in Leeds involving Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank! He concedes that Pete is correct and that drummers are not really musicians in the same way that goalkeepers aren’t really footballers.

Rich joins us very upset at the team performance and attitude displayed by the Hornets up in Yorkshire, Neil observes that Ismael does have a “plan B” switching to 3-5-2 at halftime but sees the silly goals given away but eulogises over the third Leeds goal as a well-crafted goal, We discuss what is the expectation for this squad from the fans and more importantly within the club itself.

Uncle Ron joins and, on request, pulls out some positives including effort and heart but moves on to criticise the regime but back the manager and even say he is “overachieving” with what he is working with. Tim phones in from the M1 southbound having been Elland Road and echoes Ron’s thoughts wanting to see more pride in the shirt. Seeing Bachmann’s much praised performance as “just doing his job” – he wants to see more cohesion feeling the QPR and Birmingham wins are the outliers in terms of performance.

Pete talks about Hornet fan Mark O’Brien attempting a world record effort for Motor Neurone Disease Charities a disease he suffers with. We salute you sir.

Boyd comes on having been pleased with elements of the season until today and asks questions of the squad and their individual performances.
